The Wooden Table Ratings and Reviews
Although this restaurant is located in a busy strip mall with no real "views," the ambiance is warm and inviting in the small open dining room. Our server, Willow, did a fantastic job of taking care of us and because of her excellent service and the well-prepared and delicious food, we will gladly return. It is a little pricey but well worth it, which makes for an enjoyable date night out or with a group a friends.
There are so many other great places to go rather than the Wooden Table. The food is overpriced. It was cold. We had to ask for bread. We had to ask for water. We went for my 40th birthday and the server didn’t even acknowledge the special evening. Waste of money. Do not go here.
We were seated a smidge later than our reservation since their online system overbooked them with multiple large parties. Jimi was so attentive to us to keep things smooth. The food was well timed and on par for flavors. Always a great place!
This holiday season I ate out many times with different friends and family. The Wooden Table served the best food by far than any to the other restaurant. The only reason I did not give them all 5 stars is, the service was a little bit slow, probably due to a packed house and the noise level was high. I had their Linguine with Manila Clams, House-made Sausage, Dry Vermouth, Oregano, did I mention it was fantastic.
We will be back again.
Everything is locally sourced and the majority is handmade by the chefs/owners. The service is fantastic - the staff was able to answer my in-laws' questions, explain every dish and drink and make recommendations based on their tastes and preferences. My very picky in-laws thoroughly enjoyed dinner over the holidays and are already looking forward to next time. To top it off, they made the effort to call us just a few minutes after leaving to tell us we left something behind.
Always the best! Agnolotti is absolutely amazing; order the large portion otherwise you will be too sad thinking about how much you missed out on. One of the few Northern Italian restaurants in Colorado worth considering. Excellent wine choices and attentive wait staff. Everything we have tried was made with exceptional care. It all tastes so good and has such wonderful texture. Perfect house-made pastas.
The muscles app, salad and pasta were great, but we thought the duck dish we ordered was not well put together and not appetizing at all. The other main course was scallops and those were fine but really not anything to write home about either. We left knowing that we will never go back because of that duck entree.
The food is very good. But at lunch it seems they're trying to save money by not having enough staff. We ended up having a 2 hour lunch! We ordered drinks with 2 desserts, got one dessert and about 10 mins later got 2 drinks but the third was out of stock. Never received the second dessert. We will return but maybe for dinner instead.
Don't let the location fool you! The Wooden Table, although in a strip mall, has delicious food and an extensive wine list. It is a bit on the pricey side, so we used a Groupon. The service was attentive (great recommendations all around from our server) and the one-room restaurant was cozy and well-appointed. This is a special-occasion type of place that we can't frequent regularly, but we will definitely be back in the future.
We always get the mussels as they are delicious - saffron broth and house made sausage. The staff knows you are going to love the broth, so they make sure to give you a spoon. We also got the lamb carpaccio for the second time in a row. It's not gamey and has a nice citrus and olive topping. They have seasonal dishes with pumpkin risotto and cranberry chutney. I'm pretty sure the duck breast was the best I ever had. Perfectly crispy and delicious skin, with a tender and just pink interior. It was pretty fabulous.
We are regulars. Always love our spinach salad with the goat cheese and berries. The bread is so good, comfort food. We both has the veal saltimbocca that we had not had before. It was really good!!! The red wine reduction was great on it. We tried the pumpkin spice cake instead of our usual chocolate tarte. It was yummy. Seasonal. Make reservations for Thur - Sat. Always busy.
Outstanding food in an unlikely location tucked away in a small strip mall. We were celebrating a birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The owner stopped by other tables to chat, but not ours. We were also surprised that the table next to us got treated to a dessert and serenade of Happy Birthday, which we did not. But, overall the food and ambiance were good and we would definitely recommend it.
We were asked if we wanted bread and said yes. After quite a bit of time, we had to ask again and still had to wait. When the main course was served, I ordered a second drink. It finally arrived as I finished the meal.
This was not the Wooden Table I was use to going to. Go again? Not so sure.
We had to wait for just a few minutes while they prepared the table we had requested. Seats we're offered at the bar while we waited. Once seated, service was immediate. Out server was very helpful and pleasant. Our food was excellent-spinach salad was very good. I had scallops and my husband had the veal. Both selections were planning repsred perfectly. All and all a wonderful experience. Will definitely return
While our food and service was more than adequate, I couldn't help but be disappointed at the lack of recognition for the special occasion, my husband's birthday, that we were celebrating. I made a notation regarding the event when I made the reservation but the restaurant failed to acknowledge it entirely. Given the large number of restaurants from which to choose for a birthday dinner in the Denver area, restaurants have a chance to distinguish themselves by offering a complimentary dessert or wine or even a simple "Happy Birthday" greeting for the honoree. The Wooden Table failed this test abysmally.
I have eaten here twice the past month – once for lunch and once for dinner. Tucked away in a neighborhood strip mall, the wooden table delights the palette. The restaurant was decidedly more busy for dinner, where we enjoyed sophisticated pastas, artic char and duck. Our lunch group enjoyed three different salads and we were all very please. We will be back!
We took family in town for a kid-free dinner and had a wonderful meal! Everything was delicious and our waiter was very attentive, even happily accommodating a very picky eater in our group. A superb meal that left my husband and I wondering why we don't eat there more than once or twice a year. We will definitely be back, and soon!
It took a half hour after our reservation to seat us. A comp drink would have been nice. My husband ordered a top shelf tequila drink and you would think the bar tender would remember for second drink. We had the carpacio for an appetizer, it was great. Both the arugula and spinach salads were great. Scallops were very good but fish it was on top tasted like canned tuna fish. My husband had the duck, which was recommended by our server, and it was terrible. Super chewy and a big disappointment. The dessert was terrible, we ordered the tres leche and it tasted like bland, mediocre cake with milk poured on top. Overall I think this place was average but very overpriced. There are several great restaurants I'd rather go spend my money at. Very disappointed as I wanted to love this place. We love supporting local places that source locally but won't be going back.
We had lunch at Wooden Table recently and all four of us enjoyed our meals. The food was nicely arranged on the plates, with very good flavorings. The ambiance was quite pleasant - bright, not too loud. The portions were good sizes for lunch too. The menu offered a number of interesting options as well, with some fun combinations of tastes. We were able to enjoy a delicious, leisurely meal with friends.
The staff was friendly. My husband had a Caesar salad, but other than it having 1/2 of an anchovy on it, he could not taste that it was a Caesar salad. I had the spinach salad which was O.K. I ordered ravioli for my entrée, the server said the pasta was made in-house, pasta tasted good but was rather tough. My husband had the hanger steak, which tasted good but the portion was rather small. My daughter ordered the bread pudding for dessert, but said it tasted very different and wasn't the best. I ordered the spice cake with cheese filling and was very disappointed in the taste and texture. The cake was very dry and each dessert was $10. We ordered a $40 bottle of Merlot wine (least expensive on wine list), and I ordered a glass of Riesling at $10. Our bill was $211, plus a 20% tip ($40). We knew that all menu items were a la carte, but we felt that everything was overpriced for the portion size, located in a strip mall, and we would not go back to this restaurant.
