The Winery is always an excellent choice. Great staff and food!
Friends in town for holidays!
Good food, friends and food, but terribly loud.
Such a nice space with great service and exceptional food
Noise level was very strong..hard to have a conversation....
Excellent service all around, helpful wait staff, beautiful layout. A wonderful experience in which I would like to have again soon!
Loved the ambience and the food :0)
Asparagus fries great
Burger awesome
Mahi-mahi FAIR
Absolutely fabulous! We highly recommend the raw seafood tower. And the cobbler is out of this world.
Excellent wine selection both by the glass or bottle. Calamari was not good - served like uncrisp French fry sticks rather than tubes and tentacles. Next were main courses: duck confit was dry, skin was not crisp and lacked flavor. Branzino was cooked perfectly but brought down by being served on a bed of bland pasta with uncooked butternut squash shavings which added texture but no flavor. Too bad because staff were very nice and professional.
The ambiance is great. Service is excellent. However, the food is not what I'd expected for that high of a price. It's okay. One of the 2 scallops I got was undercooked. The flavor was great, but too rich. For that amount of money, I rather go elsewhere.
Another great time at the Winery. Best Service in San Diego.
Not sure if we just had a fluke meal, but our meats were overcooked and $60 steak had to be refined. I felt the price to value was not correct. Too expensive for not such a great meal.
Nice place
I am giving this three stars because we were sitting in the bar area enjoying drinks and food, and the restaurant manager/owner came over to scold us for trying to book on OpenTable because we were dining in the bar and not the restaurant. Initially, she threatened not to honor our dining points. We found it to be extremely rude since we were eating and drinking. There are many restaurants that welcome our OpenTable reservation with open arms regardless of where we sit. This did not go over well with either one of us. We are on the fence as to whether we will return or not –service in the bar was nice, and the food was not bad, but the owner reprimanding us like we are children while we are dining and spending money is ridiculous.
We expected an amazing meal based in the story, the owners and the chef. Nothing on the menu suggested the pedigree. Just another chain tasting steak house.
We had an unusual experience, but the waiter tried very hard to make things right. He forgot our sides (we ordered three), so he brought them anyway and took them off the bill. He and the manager stopped by often to make sure we were ok with that, and to apologize. The meal was really lovely, every entree was delicious and beautifully presented. So, other than that little blip, we loved this restaurant and we will be back!
It was our first time at the Winery Restaurant - service was flawless and food was amazing. Staff is very approachable and they truly value customer satisfaction.
Everyone was so friendly and the Service and the food was great!
The food was fabulous, the wine was wonderful, and the service spectacular. I requested a quiet window table and that’s what we got. Our waiter was witty, attentive, and friendly. I’m particularly fond of the fresh, warm bread and mushroom side dish, but my entree (bone-in filet of beef) was perfectly cooked to order. I highly recommend The Winery.
As usual, great food and knowledgable staff! Have been there four times now over the past year and it has been consistent in quality.
I have been here twice and I'm never disappointed. The staff, the ambiance, the food, no complaints whatsoever! Will be returning.
EXTREMLY SLOW service for a non- busy lunch hour.
Needed to get up and ask the waitress to take our food orders.
Needed to ask for beverage refills , including water.
Needed to ask for dessert menus.
She did bring a very nice dessert for our "birthday" guest.
Started out to be a good experience, however when they had trouble with their credit card reader software, actually expected me to allow them to “old fashioned style” copy all of my credit card digits!!!
Your software problem should not ruin my dining experience, stress me out, AND put me at unnecessary risk for fraud, identity theft and negative credit score issues. Those ARE NOT easy or inexpensive things to fix.
I flat out refused to allow this and said I’d wait for the software issue to be resolved, rather than disregard the legal reasons why a restaurant can no longer record or display full credit card numbers of patrons.
Of course, waiting for the issue to be resolved resulted in my exceeding the 2 hour free parking limitation at UTC. Why UTC thinks they will profit by rushing patrons out of their shopping / dining experience in order to avoid paying for parking, I will never understand. Most malls provide FREE PARKING for their patrons.
Of course Wine Bar could not accommodate my request for validation of my parking (because I didn’t “valet park”). It wasn’t my fault I was being held over until THEIR issue was resolved. And why should you be treating customers who valet park any differently than you treat other patrons? How do you know I won’t spend just as much as a valet parking customer? It’s an unnecessary form of favoritism and snobbery.
Food was under seasoned. Waitress did not offer to box my leftovers. Long wait for simple service. And although I specifically asked the hostess to ensure my open table reservation was credited ... I received a “we missed you at wine bar” scolding email from open table. So they even missed that, despite a clear request on this.
Immaculate ambiance, most staff friendly, but not all. I will not be returning.
This is one of my favorite places it’s very romantic we especially love the patio the customer service we are always treated like a VIP
An extensive wine list compliments s menu laden with meat choices. Chicken, fish, and a creative vegetarian entree (cauliflower “steak”) are also present. Decor is sleek and inviting, to include backlit blue agate. Our service wad excellent - prompt, congenial, and well trained.
My second time to the Winery - the food and service was impeccable!
It was a late reservation on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was easy to find. The staff was accommodating and very professional. Our server was excellent. Very patient with diners with questions. Food arrived timely and at appropriate temperatures.
Very good service. Food was better than expected and the ambience was fantastic.
Everything was perfect! We got a table by the window, the service fantastic and the food absolutely delicious. My husband had the Buffalo with Roasted Elephant Garlic and I had the Rack of Lamb, they were prepared to perfection. The dessert was a Chocolate Mousse with whipped cream truly delicious! Great Birthday celebration.
Just delicious....
Great bartenders and service as always!
Everything was excellent!
We are not big eaters, so my husband and I ordered 3 appetizers to share, along with some wine.
The food was great, especially the pork belly lollipops, the ambience was nice and relaxing, and the waiter Dane was very nice and efficient.
Best atmosphere for any occasion.
Great experience at this restaurant! Our server was very attentive and accommodated everything we asked for.
Great experience. The staff was attentive. The good was delicious. The wine list was extensive.
Food was excellent , our waiter Damian was the best !
Very noisy inside due to acoustics.. even with the restaurant not very full. Must have made it difficult for our server to hear us because there was a minor mistake made.
I tried the elk. Don’t. Very tough and bland.
Not a great meal for the price.
