Our experience dining at the Wine Kitchen was wonderful. It was my husband’s birthday and they left him a handwritten birthday card at the table. It was such a personal and thoughtful touch. The waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu and she made some great recommendations. The food was amazing. We greatly enjoyed our dining experience and am looking forward to coming back again!
Love this place! Great location, always excellent service and top notch food!
What a great place to celebrate a birthday! It was certainly worth the drive up from Bethesda. We plan to do it again soon and often.
Wine Kitchen always has stellar service. Approachable and knowledgeable staff with delicious food and cocktails.
After going to a neighboring restaurant and waiting 5 minutes to be sat (the restaurant was empty inside), we took that as a sign to go next door instead, to our favorite restaurant, the Wine Kitchen. I had the trout and my friend had their oyster salad, and both were delicious. They've also changed their iced tea, and the server told us it was from a shop right around the corner. The tea was wonderful, and we went to the tea shop afterwards and each got some tea for ourselves. Another great visit, shame on us for even thinking of going somewhere else for lunch downtown Frederick!
We came here for my wife's birthday and were pleasantly surprised with a hand written card signed by the staff. The food and wine were delicious, and the service was top notch. We'll be back soon!
Extensive wine list. Very expensive. Food was very good. Service good. It was loud despite not being full. I didn’t care for the seating at all. Uncomfortable, too close together and we were sat right at the entrance despite their being other open tables. I would try again.
We had a craving for a pastrami sandwich today, and went to just the right place. Best pastrami sandwich in town! We also enjoy the service and chatting with the staff. Wine Kitchen is our go to restaurant in Frederick, as we can always count on a fantastic meal and exceptional service.
We celebrated my parents 73rd anniversary at the Wine Kitchen and it couldn't have been more perfect. There were 10 of us and we had a table in a nice little alcove that felt like a little private room. The servers were perfect, the food delicious and the restaurant honored the occasion with a gift of a bottle of champagne, which was very kind and greatly appreciated. They made the day very special for all of us, including my 96 and 97 year old parents. They loved the restaurant as we all did. Thank you Wine Kitchen!
Restrooms did not have hot water. Hope the staff have separate facilities. Table must have been dirty. Noticed when I returned home that forearm sleeve was dirty. 2 Brussels sprouts was all they served with meal. Beef was seasoned well and charred.
First time at this restraunt.
POSITIVES: Everything great including all the courses. All 4 of us ordered something different (wine, appetizer, entrees, deserts) and it was consistently excellent. Quality of everything was surprisingly top notch especially considering it was packed out due to Restraunt Week in Frederick. They did not rush us which was also very nice. Excellent, friendly service!
NEGATIVES: A bit loud and booth uncomfortable. Prices of higher end entrees are as high as DC's.
Best food in the area, very friendly staff. My favorite restaurant.
It was restaurant week with a special menu and the choices were excellent
Great service and great meal! Oh ya, great wine.
The food was absolutely incredible, since of the best I've ever had. The service was outstanding and not just limited to our waiter. A little pricey but worth the cost.
Food was amazing as always, perfect portions, service was excellent.
Brought a friend there for Frederick Restaurant Week. We loved it! Service was exemplary, food delicious and hot! We will definitely return.
Great Experience. Thanks so much for the bottle of wine, great food, great service and making Mike's birthday dinner wonderful.
Restaurant week- date night
The food was great!
This was our second time eating at WK, first time for dinner. Their online restaurant week menu attracted us, but they do NOT offer two-three of the dishes shown online (ie: Monkfish, rockfish, and hanger steak). In addition, the service was rather slow, which was surprising for pre-fixe courses.
We ended up going with the dry-aged burger and the scallops. The burger was OK, but the scallops were sub par - they were over cooked and too salty. For apps, we tried the pork belly and wedge salad - again just OK. Hands down, our favorite dishes were desserts. Their banana cream pie was tasty and the nightly special (I forget the name, but it was a whiskey flavored cake and ice cream) was even better.
All in all, it was an OK experience, but with so many great restaurants downtown, I don’t see myself going to WK again for dinner.
Lovely meal. Attentive server. I especially like their desserts.
We dined here for restaurant week . 3 out of 4 of us were very disappointed with our meal. It was very delayed and no apology for the long wait. Our entrees were sooooo salty they would have gone back if we hadn’t been there forever. The service was good , but we were never given a basket of bread or never offered coffee with our bland desserts.
If this was because it was a price fixed offering shame on them . It’s not a good way to showcase your restaurant or Frederick.
The food was so good. Will definitely come back in future. Ordered Mexican BLT. The bread was a little burnt but edible.
Our experience at The Wine Kitchen was wonderful. We enjoyed our brunch and look forward to returning to sample the dinner menu. Service was excellent.
Really enjoyed my wife’s birthday dinner at The Wine Kitchen. The service was great and the kitchen gladly tweaked a couple of dishes to make them vegetarian. There are also some recent additions to the menu. Try the broccoli bread pudding. It’s wonderful!
Pretty good. Kinda pricey for what you get but pretty good.
Great as always! The specials are always awesome including the wild boar shank we had. Great wine flights although some are repeated if you are a frequent diner there. Overall excellent. By far our favorite restaurant in Frederick.
From the time I walked in, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The service was amazing! The food and sangria was probably the best I have had in awhile! I recommend 10,000 times! My friends and I are already planning to return.
excellent food @ service - nice location along the creek - conveniently across from a parking garage
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Chicken Mole is outstanding. Waylin is a fabulous server.
First time here, after many dinners at other Frederick restaurants. Tricky to find on "1st" floor up. Very imaginative dishes, fresh, and delicious. Excellent server, who was very helpful in picking a flight of white wines to taste. Definitely recommend! We'll be back to visit in the spring/summer,to sit out on the pretty terrace overlooking the canal.
Long, unhurried lunch with the Lunch Special menu. Two for $20. We each decided on 2 appetizers - the beet salad and pappeadelle. Yum!
Waaaay over priced. Carroll Creek setting is great. Food was imaginative & well prepared. Presentation was also good. Portions were small. Very limited choices for vegetarians. Samples of wine were excellent. But the price of both entrées and wine were exhorbitant.
We are new to the Frederick area and, while trying the Wine Kitchen for lunch, had never gone for dinner. Our experience makes this a repeat place. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and, since this was to celebrate a birthday, stem glasses of sparkling wine were brought soon after the water glasses were filled, compliments of the restaurant. Our main server, Steven, was pleasant, gracious, and, as we came to discern about virtually everyone working, genuine smiles. The place has a great vibe and on our Saturday night visit, in spite of all tables filled, service was timely and attentive.
My wife commented that her filet was just as she wanted, medium rare and tender , and my rib eye was rare, tender, and flavorful. We both liked the 3-flights of wine--she bubbly and me reds--and found they paired nicely with our entrees that included haricots and smashed potatoes.
We enjoyed the banana pie dessert with a really nice french press coffee to round out the meal. Kudos to the Wine Kitchen for a most enjoyable dining experience.
The food was a bit overpriced for the quality but overall it was enjoyable. The wine was nice and the atmosphere is nice.
First thing they told us when we arrived was the kitchen was closing soon so we needed to order quickly. Would be more professional if you’re going to accept 930 reservations to ensure the experience isn’t rushed or compromised. We don’t have any intent on keeping hard working people late, but I don’t think it’s proper to rush guests. They can do whatever they want. It’s their business. I’d recommend a 9pm cutoff if this is the process.
Great food and great service. Its no wonder why this is one of Frederick's best restaurants, if not the best. It also has to be said that great seating doesn't hurt. Our setting was private with a great view and we'd recommend both the scallops and Long Island Duck.
