The Wine Kitchen on the Creek Ratings and Reviews
I have some dietary restrictions currently and our server was super easy to work with as was the chef in creating a delicious brunch meal that I could enjoy! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed both of our meals and the ambiance of the restaurant. The menu was great and there was a variety of options to chose from so it was difficult for him to make a decision. We'll return next time we're in Frederick!
I love the wine kitchen! Triple Bubble champagne flight and cheese and charcuterie are the way to go!! Very innovative parsnip "pate" with white chocolate "fat layer". Sounds funny? Well it's delicious! Goose liver pate is spot on, and all the condiments that go with the cheeses are surprisingly good fits. Service is always prompt and pleasant and you can even buy the wines/bubblies if you like them in bottles before you leave for 10% off. What's not to like?
We had a great time, just a friend and I getting away from the kids and having some time to ourselves. I always prefer a dimmer light with red wine, but the lighting was unique and lots of people like it brighter. Otherwise wine was fantastic and so was the food and service!
A very enjoyable meal from start to finish. Great food, particularly the cheese/charcuterie appetizer and halibut, and even better service. I tried the s'more dessert which has dots of "campfire gel" on the plate. The campfire gel is a smoky flavor that overwhelms the entire dish. I'd suggest skipping it, unless you really, really like the flavor of smoke.
Our server was so attentive to small details that make it a pleasure to be served: she refolded my napkin while I was at the restroom so that it was easier to put on my lap when I returned. I made lunch reservations here specifically so I could try the wild boar I enjoyed for years in Asia without realizing the boat entree was on the dinner menu, not the lunch menu. Nonetheless, the chef graciously made the meal for me, and it was a combination of complimentary flavors and enough volume to satisfy my hearty appetite. I was so thrilled I tried dessert too, and was treated to a beautiful tiramisu with a distinctive garnishes and a soil I really enjoyed. A fabulous restaurant!
My wife and I were celebrating a wedding anniversary which was noted on our reservation. The staff remembered it well, and we arrived to a hand written congratulatory note and complimentary glass of Cava. Highly classy. The service, food, and wine program are all first rate. Our main courses of Wagyu beef and Glazed Short ribs were cooked to perfection. There are plenty of excellent wine options and our server was helpful in our selection. Kudos to the team at this eatery for delivering a memorable evening and special celebration. We will certainly return again soon.
My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary and were so surprised and pleased that they gave us a champagne toast! When they found out my husband doesn't drink, they let me have his champagne (score!) and they brought him sparkling pomegranate, which I thought was a lovely gesture. The food was fabulous ( I could have eaten a whole entree of the pappardelle appetizer) and the desserts were almost too beautiful to eat. We had great service from our waiter and a lovely evening all in all!
We all enjoyed our visit to Wine Kitchen. The drinks and appetizers were delicious and imaginative and the oysters were clean and refreshingly good. The main courses were very good to great except for the seafood, not sure the chef knows how to prepare the seafood as well as all of the other entrees. This is the second time where the seafood dish was a disappointment. The beef entries were exceptional so stick with meat! If you can sit outside, do it, what a fun view.
We arrived 10 minutes late for our 5:30 reservation . The waitress asked if we were attending the show at the Weinberg we said “yes” and told her the show started at 7pm . At 6:45 I reminded the waitress we needed our food . No time to discuss this with a manager - the show started on time and we missed the first 5 minutes. Poor choice for pre-show dinner and bad service from a waitress who was informed of our time constraints .
The Wine Kitchen on the Creek is a smashing restaurant: everything about it is special! For the Sunday brunch the menu is both imaginative and comforting. We were there for my daughter's birthday, during which she exclaimed several times how good the food was and what great service we received--all true. We enjoyed the Chesapeake crab cakes, the cornmeal pancakes, and the fabulous chocolate Napoleons. The table we were given was at the back, well out of the way of noise and foot traffic. All five of us agreed we had never had a better dining experience and cannot wait to return!
My wife and I went here for brunch on our anniversary. We were greeted at our table with a hand written note from the manager thanking us for dining at Wine Kitchen on our anniversary, so that was a very thoughtful touch. Our server also brought us two complimentary glasses of champagne to kick things off.
We both decided to do the three items for $26. I started with the fried green tomatoes, which were perfectly fried and tangy. I then had the quiche, which changes from week to week. The serving was pretty substantial and the presentation was great. It quiche itself was about five inches thick and contained steak and onions. The consistency was a littler looser than my preference but still delicious nonetheless. It was definitely filling as well. I ended with the tiramisu, which was fantastic. It was served with a mascarpone sorbet which perfectly complemented the dish.
Overall, the food was delicious, we both really enjoyed the overall experience. We look forward to our next visit.
We had lunch at The Wine Kitchen for a friendly get together, and we ended up in agreement that we picked the right place to catch up. Our food was cooked perfectly and everything was delicious. I think it was one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. The manager, John, was very helpful in assisting our group in our wine pairings, and my Napa Cabernet was a match made in heaven with the burger. He mentioned they source locally when possible, and all their beef comes from a local farm in the Baltimore area. The service was great, and it seemed like we had several waiters working together so whenever we needed something we were taken care of. Great food, great service, we'll be back the next time we decide to catch back up over lunch!
It would have been nice to have a table with a bit more privacy. The two tops side by side make it a little difficult to really be able to enjoy an anniversary dinner. I realize that’s the style and layout, but being able to hear every word of the conversation of the fellow diners inched from you is a bit invasive.
I did notate on the reservation that the occasion was an anniversary. And did not ask to change tables as I’ve been a hostess and that’s a definite no-no. Food was still great and service was fine. We’ll be back.
