What a great experience. The food and service was remarkable. The server was amazing. The establishment was absolutely stunning. We will definitely return.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience. Thank you.
Wedding spoiled the evening. After we had ordered our food, a Manager came around to inform several tables, including ours, that food orders would be delayed because of the wedding. Received our food 55 minutes after this notification. Wish we knew about this when they called to confirm our reservation; we would have cancelled. I asked Manager if they would spring for a glass of wine during the long wait and was given a terse “no”. Not at all what I expected from a supposedly first class place.
Our sever Angie was EXCEPTIONAL! The tour was so informational. Absolutely a 5 star experience. Can’t wait to return.
We went for the Tea party experience during brunch and had an amazing time! Staff was excellent, our waitress Anna was amazing! The mansion is absolutely gorgeous!
this was a truly elegant, lovely experience. The price was reasonable enough that it made possible for me to gift some friends with this experience.
A good friend was visiting from San Francisco and had never been to the Whitney. We had an amazing tea experience with great food and service.
It was such a pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning. I highly recommend it.
Great atmosphere, attentive staff, and amazing food.
We had a great evening, Stephen our waiter was entertaining and helpful. Food was great and overall just the evening we were looking for.
Service was decent, food was good (not great), desert was poor. Atmosphere is always nice.
Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. Hidden gem in Detroit.
We had our dinner on the 2nd floor in Mr. Whitney's bedroom. We were told it wasn't the most impressive room. Dinner was OK. I think kinda expensive for the price. The pictures on the website don't match the actual food. The waiter suggested a $40 bottle of wine, not bad but then we got charged $60. I noticed after I got home and looked through my pictures. I had taken a picture of the menu. The filet was over cooked. The beef Wellington was cooked perfectly. Chef's Eric dessert on the "Whim" was just a piece of cake. Which there was a wedding there so I'm thinking it was wedding cake. I thought it would had been a tad more fancier. Considering it said seasonal. For the price I anticipated a tad bit more. The waiter putting your napkin on your lap, serving women first, pulling the chair out for women. None of which we received.
The food was incredible! Our waitress was very personable and kind! It was our first time at the Whitney, but we intend to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries there every year from now on!
Me and my husband went for our wedding anniversary. The place was good but the food did not meet my expectation at all. Main entree was better than first 2 courses which felt like store bought. Dessert was awful too. We didn’t even finish out desserts only had couple bites. Don’t think I am coming back, first time thing is enough.
Absolutely delightful experience. Food was very good.
What a beautiful and historic restaurant! The food was amazing and the staff so friendly! We will be back!
Wonderful dining experience. Everything was perfect
Second time there. Just as good as the first time there
The venue and ambiance and service is amazing. The food is very underwhelming as they served sheet cake for dessert and a pot roast for an entree. A portion of the bill does go to the upkeep of the historical landmark. In my opinion the meal and wine pairings were not worth $100 per person
Our trip to the Whitney was nothing less than absolute perfection! The food was beyond amazing, the staff was courteous, kind, and thoughtful of us celebrating our recent marriage, and the ambience was something I will never forget! Thank you so much for making our night truly magical as it was our very first time dining at the Whitney!
It was our Wedding Anniversary and they continually acknowledged that and made us feel special as they contributed to the celebration. And the food and drinks were amazing!
We enjoyed it very much! If you like the whole tea experience this is a must!
Went for sweetest day. The vibes were super awesome/ Our waiter was very nice
Little Chaotic. Valet didn't have change. Couldn't find someone to give him change. Was told we were early but could go to the ghost bar. “When the stairs run out you are there.” That was 3 flights. Never offered elevator. Get to the top and the hostess says ok it will be a few minutes for your table to be ready. Stood at a crowded area and never saw a bartender. Waitress was ok. Asked me about allergies. Said to shellfish. She brings me shrimp. Never offered more beverages. Food was ok. Bland. Took dessert to go. We cant say it was bad just wont have the desire to go back.
Absolutely loved it !!!!! From the valet to the bar to dinner would highly recommend!!!!
The lobster bisque and the beef wellington were amazing!
Appetizers lacked flavor, salad and desert were great, both of our main course were served luke warm.
Server failed to meet our expectations of a restaurant of this caliber.
Overall it felt like a poorly executed wedding menu in a great location
Start to finish was a great experience
Everything was wonderful. Will definitely be returning
Birthday tea party!! Awesome service and perfect celebration!!
Food was ok, I had the beef wellington again, it wasn't as big as my last visit and was less seasoned. The shrimp dish was just ok. There was a wedding party do we didn't do the tour or even have the chef prepare a dish for us.
The food was fabulous and our server was fantastic! Such an amazing building :)
It was an awesome dinner. They did a special menu wishing us a Happy 18th Anniversary! They also did a nice dessert for us for our anniversary. Great service, beautiful mansion and nice piano playing.
Went for the Mansion Tea Service and we had an excellent time. We were the last guests to stay and didn’t want to leave. 😅 Would definitely go back!
I couldn’t be more than satisfied with the experience the Whitney serviced me and my family for me and my sisters half birthday, we always played tea party as little girls but the Whitney allowed me and my family to experience a exquisite and fancy tea party birthday celebration ;I believe I will be coming back!
Great experience overall! Service was wonderful, food and tea were delicious. Highly recommend.
Rude staff long wait even with reservations horrible would not recommend to anyone
Food is delicious with the old days feel of luxury. Nice table spaces and quiet. Staff are kind and attentive. Birthday dates are great with a personalized evening they take care of.
