This is a great restaurant normally. Service was good but I could tell the regular chef was not cooking on Friday. Food was less than it's usual excellent.
We’ve been for both brunch and dinner and each time gets better and better. Great food and service. Went back last night for more brisket. So good!
Celebrating my 40 birthday
Always great beer and food selections. Love the re-designed look and feel.
Great waitstaff, interesting weekly specials, great beer selection on tap.
The staff was was really nice. We had a 12:30 reservation for brunch & we were sat right away. The pumpkin slushy was really good. Bottomless mimosas is only $12. Unfortunately those were the only good parts of our experience.
I asked for lemons for my water twice & never received them. They made a big fuss about me having my mimosa with cranberry juice instead of orange juice. The wings had no flavor & our wings had actual feathers hanging off of them. I can't believe nobody looked at them before serving them to us. I asked for steak sauce on the side but it was spread on the plate touching my eggs. The seafood dip was horrible.
I am glad there were some good parts to your experience with us, However I do apologize where we missed the mark. we do ask for no substitutions for the Beverages because everything is priced our accordingly. the Bottomless deal is actually $15 as long as your order $12 in food. Both of which are stated on our menu. unfortunately we could have remedied the wings, steak sauce and seafood dip if it was brought to our attention. I hope you you'll give us another shot and I hope to see you soon.
Noise level was off the charts. I didn’t bother chatting with my dinner mate. Pointless. I had a sandwich from the specials and it wasn’t very good. My spiked cider was excellent. I have eaten here before and the food is usually good. I need to stick with the traditional menu options like burgers. I would go back but probably for lunch when it’s quieter.
lively crowd. menu changes with the seasons but lots to choose from and always good. Excellent service.
Awesome Steve! Thanks for the Nice review. See You Soon
We enjoyed the White Oak Tavern.
We expected bar food given the very interesting and expansive beer menu, but someone in the kitchen wants to be a foodie and it shows in the imagination and flair in both dishes we had. Our server was extremely engaging, though as par for the course during the pandemic, somewhat overworked. It's no knock against her or against management; just how things are nowadays.
Special shout-out for the smoked wings - maybe the best anywhere. Do not miss.
Don't expect to converse with friends during the jazz brunch. It's very loud! The staff was EXCELLENT...very attentive. The burgers were dry and a disappointment. The maple butter for the french toast was YUM!
menu offerings left much to be desired and strange. ordered their "chickpea polenta" cake, very dissapointed in both taste and presentation. desert was not any better, ordered slice of peanutbutter pie, i've had better premade frozen pies, and the canned reddi-wip served with the tiny slice is far stretch from the restaurants claim that "everything is made from scratch in house." while our server was nice enough, he was not knowledgeable with the menu, didn't clear dirty/empty plates, slow to provide utensils and drinks, no refills on water
GoCaps, I am very sorry to hear that your experience at The Tavern was not enjoyable. Our chickpea Polenta cakes are one of our best selling Vegetarian items. Unfortunately it may not be what you expected or desired but we get several positive reviews and compliments about how unique our menus is. The same goes for our Peanut Butter pie which has been on our menu for two years due to its popularity. We do strive to give great service, I will address your feedback with our staff. Juan L GM
Perfect low key, dining experience with excellent food and drinks
Patricia, Thank You very much. we put a lot of thought into both our cocktail and food menu so we love hearing you feedback. We look forward to seeing you here at The Tavern soon. Juan Lowman General Manager
We went for Sunday brunch and listened to jazz. It was a great time.
As first timers attending a nearby conference, we believe our group made the right choice for dinner
The server did a great job! The food was delicious, and the seasonal brussel sprout salad was delish!
Wings are a must. Well seasoned and crispy. Burger cooked perfectly. Will be back to try something else.
The dinner was excellent. The best meal I’ve had there.
Food is amazing and outdoor patio dining was great for our group, and we appreciated the patio heaters on a cool evening.
White oak Tavern is one of the best restaurants in Maryland. The food is fresh, delicious, and really well prepared. The atmosphere is excellent and if you have dogs it's even better because they get to enjoy the family outing too. we love the Dog menu and the variety of foods and drinks. Great Management Team. Absolutely one of the best and go-to restaurants.
Went for date night. Parking was easy, interior was beautiful and service was quick, courteous and attentive. Food was delicious, beer menu was beyond extensive with lots of regular selections plus more for the Oktoberfest. Live music was good and the overall inclusive, everyone welcome vibe had us planning our next visit before dessert even arrived.
We were outside behind the restaurant and there were a lot of mosquitos. Our server was very attentive at first but when we needed our check, it took a long time to get that or a food box. I usually like the food but my salad was just mediocre. I was not thrilled with the outside seating in the back. It also smelled like cigarettes where we were seated. Overall- it was an expensive evening that could have been a lot better.
Seafood pasta was tasty, innovative, could’ve included more seafood. Award winning White Oak burger was delicious, but center a bit on rare side. Summer salad was good. Enjoyed 4-beer tasting flight, and glass of Chianti Classico was excellent. House aged Old Fashioned was a treat. Great service.
My husband and I love coming to White Oak Tavern for brunch. The food is always delicious, the drinks are well-balanced and the service is always a joy.
Fabulous food, service and vibe! Cannot wait to go back!
The Live Jazz was Fabulous.
This would be the only reason I would come again. I was very disappointed with the lack of diversity, especially with being my first time very disappointed.
The White Oak had 1 African American employee that I saw and she was setting up, cleaning off and helping with serving table.
dressed as if she was a waitress, but NOT...
My name is Juan Lowman, General Manager. Although I am thrilled that you enjoyed the live jazz music Id like to address the point you made about diversity amongst our staff. We are an equal opportunity employer, several members of our staff come from a diverse background, including myself. Our staff members all have the same dress code to promote teamwork and community. They work together to ensure the best experience for the guest. Email me at Juan@thewhiteoaktavern if you like to discuss more.
It was disheartening to see no one wearing a mask in the front of the house. I was not able to see if those preparing our food were wearing a mask but I worried about it. As a health care professional knowing all the area hospitals are full with COVID this seems shortsighted at best. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend a restaurant to anyone at this time where staff is not required to mask.
CJNev, Thank You for Dining at The White Oak Tavern. We have been following all of the State and Local mandated guidelines since the beginning of COVID. Our Staff is vaccinated, most of our tables are 6 feet apart, we offer outdoor dining and carryout for everyone as well. We also keep up standards for cleaning and sanitation to ensure guest safety and comfort. If you would like to discuss this further my email is Juan@thewhiteoaktavern Juan Lowman General Manager
The food was great as always and the service was outstanding! We were eating outside on the front patio and it was noisy because trucks were coming up with deliveries so it was noisy at times. I would recommend everyone to go and try Thr White Oak Tavern.
Great seasonal food and drinks. Unique delicious dishes. Vegetarian and GF friendly. Outdoor dog friendly too!
It was great!
Nicholas was our server and he was amazing.
We had the brunch Fried Chicken Deluxe. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. The brioche French toast was a pleasant surprise. The fried egg and home fries rounded out the dish. The service was outstanding. The server was attentive and helpful. My wife was disappointed that you were out of the draft root beer. Otherwise the atmosphere was lively with the live music.
good creative dishes, fresh imgredients. wide assortment on menu. Service ok. VERY loud with all the conversations echoing plus the live band way too loud
I live locally and give this high ratings because it’s a really nice experience for a friends night out, or just sitting at the bar and watching a game. Friendly people at the door, friendly servers, and friendly bartenders. Unusually good food and varied menu for a “tavern”. In a large strip mall but that means plenty of easy parking and still very nice inside. Live music on weekends adds to ambience.
Food was totally delicious and enjoyed by everyone at our table! Enjoyed the Christmas in July theme! Sever did a great kid as well! We will definitely be coming back !
Great brunch spot. The noise level was high due to the very enjoyable live jazz music. The menu was interesting and everyone found something they loved. The patio is nicely removed from the parking lot so it's a great outdoor dining option.
A good first trip, quick service and some unique dishes that were very flavorful
Website did not appear to present restaurant as a sports bar, which it is. Noisy, average service, very good food but not the farm-to-table (advertized) calmer experience we were looking for.
We sat outside on a pretty humid night because the couple we ate with preferred outdoor. I think if we had eaten indoors I would have been more comfortable. My salmon dish was excellent. My husband said his steak was average. Signature cocktail bees knees was awesome! We live far but would go again some time.
Great vibe, seated before our actual reservations, food came quickly, will be back again
We love coming here. The food is always on point, the service is friendly and fast and the drinks are good.
