   Service was great & food was delicious. We ordered the scallops on risotto as an appetizer— SO yummy. I had the Mahi dinner and my husband had the red snapper. You can definitely tell that the seafood was fresh. We both enjoyed our meals! We made reservations for the dining room and we were seated immediately as we arrived.  While making the reservation, we were asked if there was a special occasion. We entered that we were celebrating our anniversary. Nothing special was done. No complimentary glasses of champagne/wine or dessert were offered for the occasion.. so why ask?? Most nicer restaurants offer something complementary for special occasions. I don’t expect it, but I was confused why they asked if nothing was going to be offered. It was a Monday night, yet the restaurant was decently full. Noise level was just right. Not too loud, not too quiet. We enjoyed the cocktails- they were strong yet well balanced. A tad pricey.. but the service, ambiance, food, and beautiful views made it very worth it. Perfect for a special occasion. Also heads up, they don’t take reservations for the patio. And if you do sit on the patio, you have to order from a different menu vs if you sit inside.

   Restaurant was very beautiful on the inside. Wonderful view from the deck. Service was good. Food definitely doesn't live up to the build up. My Cesar salad was delicious, oven baked grouper was pretty bland. Nice dining experience but not worth the price.

   Food was delicious, I had the Grilled Grouper w/ risotto, my wife had the Chicken Marsala w/ grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. Absolutely amazing dishes. Reviews we read raved about the bread, tonite, they were out. Pretty noisy and the service was good not great. We will be coming back again for sure👏👏👍👍

   Timing is still a bit off. The 5 of us received our entrees at 3 different times and temperatures. Though being our third visit, this was first time the food was actually hot! That's an improvement and our first time back since the reopen. We will definitely be back. Service was excellent, atmosphere is always perfect. If they get the timing down on food, this place will be top notch. Steak was perfectly cooked and flavor was impressive. The guests with us stated best steak they ever had (although they were almost finished when our food arrived)

    Our family of five made a late reservation (9 PM) at the last minute. This is a beautiful restaurant and was very full, even at such a late hour. It took a little while for the waitress to take our order, as she was busy with other customers. She was very apologetic for our wait. Our table was directly beside the kitchen area, so lots of clanging dishes, which was a bit annoying. They were out of snapper, which my husband and mother wanted, but the dishes we ordered were excellent. Fabulous wine selection by the glass or bottle! The teenagers in our group loved the cheeseburgers!

    Glad to have White Marlin as a finer dining alternative for special nights out in the Forgotten Coast. Food quality is unsurpassed, and it and the views and beautiful space are equal to the pricing. Service is generally good, too, but we’ve experienced a few small glitches. Latest meal was the house salad, which was original and delicious, and a truly fresh and generous blackened Mahi dish. Chocolate and espresso cake was OOTW. The only service issue was that we were left with the same silverware for all 3 courses. Can you eat elsewhere for less money? Yes, but why not splurge from time to time, particularly if you’re on vacay or for a special occasion? And support the folks who strive to bring the best to our community!

    I want to be clear that our server was exemplary, did a wonderful job on a night when the kitchen was having issues, and management was doing the best it could to make things right. We will go back, because the place is beautiful, menu superb, and because the potential is five-star.

    We made a reservation for our party of 4 online thru open table. We indicated we were celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival, we were greeted and taken immediately to our table. Our waitress, Dana, came to the table, introduced herself, and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. She returned to take our drink order. We also gave our salad and entree orders at this time. She came quickly with our drinks and a loaf of yummy warm bread with fruity, buttery spreads. We had to ask for a fresh glass of wine because the first one had someone else’s lipstick on it. We weren’t upset about it—just wanting a clean glass. Next our salads came out. One had the Caesar, and the others shared the yummy salad with the poached pears, nuts, vinaigrette, etc. Very good! Then, we waited! And we waited! And we waited! We took pics outside and came back in to wait some more! Dana said the kitchen was backed up and that was why it was taking so long. Okay. When our dinner finally came, it was good. Two of us had the red snapper. It was really good! Just wish the veggie sides would’ve been as hot as the fish. One had the chicken. She said it needed more of the sauce/gravy on it—kind of plain. One had the grouper. She said it was good. We ordered another round of drinks to go with our meal. When Dana came by, she asked if we wanted dessert. We said we didn’t think so, and her reply was—that’s good. It might take another hour. Then she said-I don’t know what they are going to do next weekend on the holiday when it’s really busy. That was it. No sorry. Nothing given complimentary or celebratory for the table. Just the check. $$$! The restaurant is very pretty. The outside deck is a great place to watch the sun set. There seemed to be a lot of people “working”, but they definitely need help in the kitchen. The dining room was VERY loud since there was no soft surfaces to absorb sound. And why ask if you’re celebrating something if you have no intention in acknowledging it. Come back? Meh!

    First experience there since it was opened. Felt like Port St Joe had been transported to Southern California. Marvelous ambience especially the back deck for Happy Hour with lovely seating areas , fire pit with couches for cooler weather , market umbrellas with wood tables and chairs. Service was best I’ve had in a long while. We had an early dinner indoor seating which worked very well after a brief rain shower popped up. Great selection on the menu. Prices reasonable for an elevated dining experience. We had the lamb chops, mahi , snapper and tuna. It did not disappoint. The salads fresh and ample. I am so happy to have this setting back as a restaurant and very happy to have it here. Well done. !!!.

    My husband and I had a really nice dinner at The White Marlin. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a great coastal vibe. Our waitress was attentive and made some nice suggestions. They have a very nice wine selection and an interesting cocktail menu. The bread and homemade butter was delicious! The menu had some amazing choices. My husband had the ribeye, which was cooked perfectly and very flavorful! I started with the French onion soup (which I felt was one of the best I’ve ever had) and also had the chicken Marsala which was very good. The restaurant is a really nice addition to Port St Joe as a finer dining experience and we will definitely be going back. They also have really nice outdoor seating which overlooks the bay. The only negative I can mention is the condition of the menus. I even noticed them at the host stand. They are made of a heavier paper but were very wrinkled and bent and worn from a lot of use. The two that were placed on our table even had food stains on them. Just a little thing but it was a “first impression” and seemed out of place for such a nice restaurant.

    We were looking forward to dinner here and it did not disappoint! The service was amazing (thank you Susan), the atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious! There were 5 of us and everyone loved their meal (lobster ravioli, snapper, grouper and ribeye). I tasted all of them and although they were all delicious, the snapper was above and beyond. Highly recommend going here for dinner while on vacation in Port St Joe. You will not be disappointed!

    This was our second time dining here. Each time was a great experience. Their steaks and seafood are the best. This second time I got the wagyu steak cheeseburger. It was delicious. My wife got baked oysters. She was very happy with her meal. Susan, our server provided excellent service.

    Everything was good. Our only complaint was that my husband's filet was a bit over cooked. He ask for a trace of pink and is was very well done. The cut of meat was great! Just a wee bit too done. Great experience. Beautiful setting!!

    This was our first time at the White Marlin. It’s a bit pricey but the place is nicely appointed. We enjoyed the (complimentary) bread and our order of lobster bisque, served in a large bowl and enough to satisfy two people. For dinner, we split the the oven baked grouper. It was just OK because unfortunately, the risotto was cold. Also the Caesar salad was nothing to write home about. We would’ve loved to have been seated on the waterfront deck, but for some reason, even with reservations, it was not made available to us. The service was friendly and efficient.     We are locals and we’ve been waiting for a reasonable length of time for all of the newness to wear down some, issues to be worked out, etc., as with any new restaurant opening. And I must say, it was a letdown. Staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. However, to put it simply, this restaurant needs a new chef. I had the prime rib and I can honestly tell you it had not been sliced from a whole loin, but was instead a pre-sliced section. It was very tender, but had no flavor whatsoever. Other guests at our table had their entrees brought out so quickly, that it told me immediately that the only prep going on in the kitchen was that of heating up the dish. The foods were severely lacking in flavor. It’s very obvious that the clientele desired is not that of locals, but those of tourists. Tourists have a tendency to seek out new establishments with colorful pictures of cuisine, not fully understanding what delicious food our area has to offer. And of course, no fault of the White Marlin, but they are following in the footsteps of a wonderful past restaurant (Sunset Grill, located at the same location but did not survive Hurricane Michael) that simply knocked it out of the park with BOTH delicious lunches and superb dinners. And….unless there was one available, you need a ramp for those that are not comfortable with stairs. Your steps are very steep for the older generation not yet in the wheelchair! Suggestion for the White Marlin: search for a different chef to bring back the spectacular flavor of the ‘forgotten coast.’
