Worst meal I have ever had. Had chicken with mushroom and blue cheese sauce. Definitely no blue cheese in the sauce and the chips if you could call them that were not cooked by a chef. I don’t normally complain but felt I had to here. We couldn’t wait for the waitress to come to our table to ask for the bill so we went to the bar to pay. The waitress did apologise and she kindly took off my meal from the bill. Will not be returning.

Seriously poor food, an hours wait with very few people in the pub. The food was terrible, over cooked chips, dried out fish, lump of mushy peas. The chicken supreme should have been called Chicken Sadness, it was microwaved and served with gloopy white sauce. The manageress to her credit apologised and credited most of the value off the bill but this was an early Father’s Day treat that was very poor indeed. They were short staffed so I hope this was a ‘one off’ but on the basis of what we experienced we would not recommend to anyone.

Lovely little pub, friendly staff and amazing tasting, well presented food. I was surprised to see it so quiet as it was a beauty country pub (and dog friendly too!!) The only thing that let it down was they'd run out steaks that evening, but plenty of tasty alternatives on the menu. Will definately be coming back for their steak night!

This is a lovely, local pub/diner. The food is good quality and well presented and the service is warm and friendly.

Out of stock of some of the basics-food and drink. Staff unaware of empty glasses and we had to keep looking for them, even for the bill. Food was less than average: lasagne dry and sizzling skillet was not sizzling.

Lovely traditional old pub, sympathetically decorated seating and dining areas. Very dog friendly, we had our two with us, so the biscuits and water station were much appreciated. Food (bouillabaisse and chicken, mushroom and blue cheese) was delicious. The beer (pinpoint) was well kept and tasty.

A lovely old pub restaurant nicely presented and a good selection of drinks. Lovely selection of seats and tables, clean and tidy. Menu nice selection of dishes, good service, well presented, very tasty. Well worth a visit. Will definitely go back.

Lovely food and at a good price and great service. We went to celebrate a birthday, mid-week so restaurant/pub wasn’t busy which was a shame as it’s a really nice pub and it was a beautifully warm spring evening of 24degrees.

On arrival staff were friendly. We were served quickly with drinks and sat outside in the garden. There were nine of us as it was my husband‘s birthday six adults three children we were given menus which we swiftly chose from. We were seated at the table within good time But then everything went downhill. The children’s meals were served with the starters. The chicken wings were so tiny and had no meat on them then the mains arrived. We ordered two gammon Sunday roast. The gammon was so thick chewy uncooked and full of fat neither of us could eat any of the meat. The roast potatoes tasted just like aunt Betty‘s frozen roast potatoes. There was something that resembled red cabbage that was actually dark purple nearly black in colour the cauliflower cheese was tasteless. The only thing I ate off the plate was the Yorkshire pudding two of the other adult meals arrived With the burgers. The third burger was missing when asked where it was was told it would be two more minutes 10 minutes later it arrived was uncooked in the middle so was also a great disappointment. We were asked how the meal was but only after all plates have been removed. I had prepaid for the meal once I ordered it The children’s desserts then came saying two scoops of ice cream. There was hardly any ice cream in the bowl it didn’t equate to one scoop we quickly left the restaurant as we didn’t want the embarrassment of having to tell them how dreadful all the meals were apart from the children’s Fish goujons.

A real disappointment after reading reviews and going by info on the website. From the outside this very characterful property looks quite special, but don’t be fooled. Staff were friendly enough and worked hard, but in my opinion the food was awful. Simply put I would not eat there again.
