This is a great location. The food was amazing, the drinks were very good and the service was amazing. Bex was a great host and server.

We arrived at 2pm for Father’s Day. Staff were amazing, I think they were short staffed as very busy. There was 5 of us including a 5 year old. Waited 45 minutes for a starter. Waited another 2 hours for our main course, we had to keep asking where our food was. It eventually came minus our granddaughters food. One had to go back as was cold. They had missed my granddaughters food completely so had to do it quickly. Saying all this the food was delicious. The staff were lovely and kept apologising and worked so hard. In fact when we went to pay the bill they wiped all the food off which was so appreciated. We will be returning.

We started off the evening with drinks in the large garden and managed to get a table to sit at but ate inside a little later. This is a very busy pub, for both drinks and food, in a narrow St Albans street - you wouldn't even know it was there so a pleasant surprise as we had just found on google maps & reviews! They have lots of great staff, polite and attentive. A different 'traditional' pub menu but we all found something we wanted to eat. The homemade pie looked and tasted amazing. A little disappointed with the shredded aromatic duck salad starter, it was more essence of duck and one tiny piece of watermelon, not what was expecting. The noodles were lovely and dressing delicious though.

Have frequented the White Lion on a number of occasions, this was the first time with the new management and was not disappointed. Sunday lunch was as good as we expected, service was good, will be visiting again.

First visit to the White Lion since it has reopened. The interior is nicely decorated and sympathetic to the age of the building. Food was delicious - the duo of lamb was terrific. Good choice of drinks/wines. Service was super. Overall, it was a lovely evening and we will be sure to return.

Nice place with attentive and courteous staff. Had a reasonable value lunch option of a drink and a limited choice of meals for £13.95. This option wasn't great for vegetarian meals ( cheese sandwich or Tomato and Basil soup with half a cheese sandwich) but friends enjoyed gammon, egg and chips.
