   A huge disappointment as I'd been wanting to try this place out for a long time. Lovely looking pub with friendly staff but sadly it ended there . Friend ordered the soup of the day which consisted of about three mouthfuls of soup in a dish which was certainly not made for soup! I ordered the skate wing from the specials board. The fish was off, I tried two bites but the overwhelming smell of ammonia could be mistaken by no one . This also put doubt into my friend which had also ordered fish. We were offered a replacement choice but received no proper apology, by the chef, and charged full price for the evening and. It even offered pudding or a drink by way of apology! I became unwell with an upset stomach which in turn ruined my New Year's Eve dinner the following eve. And all for the price of £85.00! Will not be recommending this place to anyone. In fact I shall be warning people away. If they had put more effort into making things right I'd have given them a second chance. Unfortunately they didn't.

   This pub is our local.........and we are so fortunate to have such excellent cuisine and friendly atmosphere in our village. Friday night was Steak Night, the pub was very busy but we were taken care of, i.e drinks in the bar, menu to peruse while we chatted to the locals, order taken and when the food was ready we were shown our to our table. I chose from the regular menu and had the pheasant on a bed of delicious spinach..........when did spinach become delicious? My husband chose from the Steak menu and had the sirloin which were divine and cooked to perfection. We shouldn't have but we did.........pick sticky toffee pudding for desert, again..........out of this world!

   Really enjoyable evening with attentive friendly staff. Food good quality and tasty. When seeing burgers ordered by other customers on burger night wish I had given them a try!

   fabulous dog friendly pub with attentive staff, dog treats and wonderful food. Well worth a visit and we shall be coming to dine with you again

   First visit since change of management. Comfortable, warm and inviting, improved table layout. Food menu good and varied. Visit coincided with "Greek themed mezze" evening so sadly fish not available, however meals on offer beutifully presented. Respectable wine list. An enjoyable evening in relaxed atmosphere.

   Excellent curry, burger OK, fries good but although this was a Saturday lunchtime only 2 - 4 other people dining so please visit this pub on a Sat. lunch to give the place atmosphere!!

    New management since our last time. We had dinner and the food was very good and not too expensive - unlike last visit when we had lunch. More relaxed and friendly atmosphere and has regained the pub feel in the bar. Staff was friendly and attentive. Decor is very nice with wood burning fires in the winter and outside terrace and garden in the summer. Also dog friendly and actually had a menu for dogs! Menu for humans was not huge but good choices. Some house specials. We would recommend and we will return. Probably try Sunday lunch which at "from £15" is far more affordable than under previous management. Really enjoyed our evening.
