Very disappointed, our first visit, my birthday treat. There was no warning that we would have to wait over an hour for food and no apology or update. After a good meal the waitress started clearing the table before two guests had finished their meal. Not very impressed!

Decent pint of Guinness. Fantastic venison and mash main course followed by a tasty cheese platter washed down with a glass of port

The place looks great inside. However, we weren’t overly impressed with the food. Had a Sunday lunch - the chicken was chargrilled, not roasted, the broccoli was hard and the Yorkshire’s weren’t crispy. The rest of the meal was ok. Poor choice of desserts, very surprised by Christmas pudding in February! Not sure why there wasn’t a chocolate sweet of any kind.

We were seated at one end (from the bar) it was cold and some of my quests were old & it spoiled it for them. Also I would like to see more vegetables.

Really enjoyed the other night at the White Harte. Food was really good and the Merlot good. The music from John Prescott was excellent. Can't fault it really although it would have been nice to have a few more beers available and maybe a specials board with some fish dishes.

We went a few times when it reopened but it was awful every time, the service was terrible and they kept getting things wrong, we even had the cocktail section booked and half an hour before the manager called to say they didn't know we were coming and they didn't have staff to man it which was disappointing. This time was much better, there seems to be new staff and they were great and the food was very nice, I am glad we gave it another go because this is local to us.

First time here since refurb for a special family birthday. Quite pricey but was a special treat, not an everyday meal. 3 of group had pizzas and one had beef stroganoff special. We were only table in restaurant on a Friday night 7pm. Order had to be retaken verbally as iPad failed. Specifically asked, twice, for one pizza without onions but came with extra onions had to send it back and await a fresh one to be cooked. Was disappointed as meant birthday girl had to sit for 20mins watching us eat. Food was very good though apart from this mishap although would have liked to know stroganoff didnt come with veg or salad as needed some colour . Desserts fairly priced and salted caramel icecream a dream! Overall, a tasty meal and reasonably priced - 4 dinners, 2 desserts and round of drinks £80. Would come again as hope service issues just a one off .

The service and food were exceptional, I can recommend the pie of the day followed by a delicious apple crumble. The decor is tastefully done all making for a pleasant evening, it just happened to be quiz night which is on a Wednesday and that was good fun too but if you just want a quiet evening the quiz is held at the bottom of the restaurant so doesn’t have an effect on others.

Service was incredibly slow, even the drinks took time to get to us . Only us and another table having lunch but took 40mins to get our meals. My venison was horrible , just flakes of meat in a mould , no flavour . My partner had the burger and that was great !
