The White Hart Inn
Welcoming busy pub/restaurant with good food, good beer and friendly service
Busy, unpretentious pub with good food and best of all, a bar billiards table!
The food was obviously of good quality and the quantity of vegetables served for two of us would have been enough for four. The major downside for us was that the vegetables were undercooked. The broccoli seemed as though it had just been blanched rather than cooked, and the roast parsnip was very hard as it was virtually raw. The service was really good
It was rather off putting that the waitress who served us went to the toilet and came out without washing her hands.
A lovely late Sunday lunch, staff were friendly and food tasty, beer was good too.
It was ok, my steak was undercooked and the inside of the fillet was basically raw despite asking for medium, the chips were also fries despite the menu saying home cooked, was alright though, not amazing
Pretty much standard pub fare. The veg was well cooked and the lamb excellent.
Excellent Sunday Roast! Wonderful historic pub - wish I could go every Sunday
Lovely old pub with lots of character and very pleasant environment. Service started well and then lapsed - found all the bar/restaurant staff chatting at bar when waiting for bill and little engagement with customer, to the point of customer being invisible.
One of us had roast chicken which was tasteless and tough (and no stuffing to add flavour). The roast lamb and pork (bit of a stingy portion) and accompanying veg were excellent. Wine good.
The White Hart was brilliant for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub, excellent service and really good food.
The pub looked tatty and tired! Floor grubby and toilets needed updating and cleaning! Service was ok but when we arrived one of the staff walked straight past us without saying a word, and we had to seek somebody out to greet us and show us to our table! The was a 'couldn't really be bothered' attitude! The service did get better once we were there though! Food was average, but nothing very interesting! Soup was thin, salad was ok but very small for the price! The best dish was the burger, but the fries were over cooked! All in all very disappointing!
It was great - a 70th Birthday treat
Food was delicious
Food had been frozen & they it was still cold in the middle when it was delivered.
Fantastic food, as always. One of the only places I return to again and again if there is a special occasion to celebrate. Booking recommended however - it is a very popular place.
Great food, especially the steaks, as usual. My guests and I all really enjoyed the evening a lot. Would recommend to anyone.
The service was good, the restaurant was clean and well laid out., with a good atmosphere. The food however was OK at best, for the price I paid I wasn't expecting roast potatoes that were like cannon balls and the lamb to was tough to chew. I was offered a free sweet for my trouble wit a brief appology
As usual the food was fab, on Wednesday however there were a group of four people sat to my left who were very loud and meant if we wanted to talk we had to speak loud, I am not sure I would want to sit in the corner again. The service wasn’t quite as slick as before but I think there were less staff than the first two times we visited but this didn’t detract from an enjoyable evening and of course the Lemon Posset was back on the menu, our favourite. Thanks guys see you soon xx Yvonne and Kate
The food was great although a little over-priced but to be expected for the area. Service was disappointing... we were sat outside on the terrace for a drink first and the waitress wouldn’t take our food order and said we had to sit at our table inside, even though she had her notebook in hand!! Tables close together.
Great value and great food
Everything good except terrible continuous noise from other diners, screaming babies and barking dogs. All out of your control too.
Very pleasant informal meal food was very good. Pub has a characture look & atmosphere - well worth a visit if in Winchcombe or this part of the Cotswolds.
The food was fab, my friend and I loved the service being as good as it was and at the end the price blow us away
Great place and lovely food. Service wasn’t very attentive though.
We booked here from Trip Advisor reviews. My Father, aged 82 chose the calves liver/bacon and mash option: the liver was completely inedible, couldn’t even cut with a sharp knife, I did complain and he then had an extra portion of bacon and mash. Subsequently a Man from the table behind us also complained about the liver. It was burger night so I though I couldn’t go wrong with this.. burger cold but just didn’t want to ruin the evening anymore so just ate it. The excuse was, a new chef.... to me, this isn’t a reasonable excuse. Won’t be going back or recommending to anyone.
The speediest and most efficient service. Delicious food with good portion size. Smaller desserts are available!
We had a very good offer as a family. As we went on Sunday we got took advantage of the children eat free deal. Highly recommended.
Friendly staff, good service and well presented delicious food
Fish finger sandwich outstanding as were the ribeye steaks with a very piquant peppercorn sauce.
The standard of food and service never dropped in the three visits.
nice place with good food. we had lunch there which we enjoyed thoroughly.
Not enough staff I think. A really nice that suffered on a busy holiday Sunday
Lovely meal en famille in Winchcombe.
Great deal three courses and bottle of wine for four £99.
Service attentive and great quality food. I especially liked the starter with scallops and black pudding.
Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of items available, evening meal was OK - menu is good but food very average. Service however is excellent & the staff are definitely the key asset of White Hart.
Really good Sunday lunch but very rushed service (my Mum didn't even have time to unwrap her mother's day present between starter and mains). The food was hot and well presented and a decent gastro pub meal. There was nothing exceptional or original but it was really tasty. The tables were very much packed in and although we expected uneven floors due to it being in a gorgeous historical building, the fact that the table top itself was really uneven meant that our entire meal was accompanied by the clatter of plates clonking on the table. £100 for 2 courses for 4 adults + a toddler plus 4 alcoholic drinks. Good value for money.
At first the service was great, then we waited 40mins for a starter (one turned up 10mins before the other) . Thursday was steak night, supposed to be two steaks and two starters for £50. However our Bill didn’t include the deal. It was a shame because the food was great.
Sunday lunch & beef not available at 1.30pm. Half hour wait for food. Run out of clotted cream ice cream. Mistake on bill overcharged £14.
Inadequate vegetables for 4.
Excellent as usual, friends were with us for the races and they loved the atmosphere and of course the excellent food. We’ve booked again for lunch tomorrow
Warm welcome and a glowing open fire perfect for a chilly evening. Great food and service as well.
Really good food with reasonable prices. I had chicken and leek pie, mash and peas the first evening. Delicious! The second evening I enjoyed half roast chicken, chips and coleslaw. My husband is vegetarian and he had plenty of choice. We gave in to the pudding options because you could order small desserts for £3 each. A small crumble and custard was perfect for me and the small cheeseboard was ideal for my husband. Lovely food and not too long to wait despite the fact that the restaurant was quite busy.
What a lovely friendly place to spend an evening.
We went two nights whilst we stayed there and on both occasions the food was fabulous.
I liked the idea of changing the menu.
Really pleasant lunch with friends. Good service and food.
This is a good reliable choice if you are visiting Winchcombe or Sudeley Castle and you want somewhere close to eat.
