Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

Inspired by Kit Kemp’s Rick Rack fabrics and bold visual language, the tea service is layered with imagination. Savories arrive as beautifully crafted compositions: smoked chicken balanced by sour cherry aioli and watercress, a curried Maine lobster roll that’s equal parts comfort and couture, egg salad scented with Périgord black truffle, and delicate robiola softened with dill and cucumber. The sweets are where the fantasy truly begins. Desserts shaped like mannequins, sculpted in indigo and vivid pink—hold center stage. A lychee and rose macaron whispers of old-world perfume. Raspberry and ginger chiboust rests on a chocolate chip sablé with all the structure of fine design. A raspberry and Earl Grey tartlet makes its case in stripes, while passion fruit and pomegranate trifle finishes the set with layered brilliance and a veil of indigo white chocolate crémeux. Classic and lemon poppyseed scones complete the affair, served warm with clotted cream and preserves. Your experience includes your choice of tea, hot chocolate, or coffee—and for those seeking the full flourish, a glass of Joseph Perrier Brut NV. For a more indulgent experience, consider our Royal Tea for Two. This luxurious addition includes one ounce of Petrossian Royal Ossetra caviar, served with warm house-made blinis, crème fraîche, and fines herbes. The Royal Tea is available at $155 per person, or $165 per person when paired with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Our traditional Afternoon Tea is offered at $95 per person, or $125 per person with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Reservations for Afternoon Tea are available exclusively through The Experience. We kindly request that cancellations be made by 10 PM the day prior to your booking. Please note that we allow a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. Always wonderful!! When in NYC I always visit the Whitby Hotel! Such a lovely atmosphere, and European service model! Th food was just perfect, and tastes even better placed on their beautiful dishware!

It’s a beautiful place but the drinks and food became mediocre. Paloma cocktail was not as 3 years ago and the size of tuna tartar… charge more but provide decent sized portion.

The waitstaff was excellent at The Whitby, but we were very disappointed in our high tea. I had booked ahead and gave details of our allergies, but the kitchen staff was not informed. Their attempts to accommodate our allergies on the day were really subpar, as we ended up getting roasted vegetables slathered with awful green sauce on triangles of white bread. I have been for tea at many, many restaurants and tearooms over the years, and my family’s allergy was always well accommodated, some chefs going above and beyond in their creativity to make our experience enjoyable. The mark of a good restaurant is how well the kitchen staff can improvise with food sensitivities and dietary restrictions. Many rise to the challenge; The Whitby most definitely did not.

Maybe the best high tea experience in NYC so far, and I’ve been trying a lot of different ones with a friend. Next time we would probably sit past the bar area but that was our decision.
