Live Jazz at the Whitby Bar is returning every Friday night from 6pm to 9pm. Enjoy classic Negroni cocktails as you listen to live jazz music from The Sam Taylor Trio.

For our Afternoon Tea service, please book via Open Table through the EXPERIENCE option. To confirm your afternoon tea reservation, we require a credit card for our cancellation policy. Should you cancel within 24 hours of the booking, a $50/pp cancellation fee will incur.

Experience an elevated Afternoon Tea at The Whitby Bar, where our new spring menu highlights the season’s finest flavors. Served in our colorful restaurant or the elegant Orangery, Afternoon Tea is presented on Kit Kemp’s signature Sailor’s Farewell Wedgwood china, adding a touch of charm to this indulgent experience. Begin with a selection of savory bites, including smoked chicken salad with sour cherry aioli and watercress, curried Maine lobster salad on brioche, egg salad with Périgord black truffle remoulade, and Robiola cheese with cucumber and dill. For those with a sweet tooth, our pastry selection features a rich 70% Valrhona chocolate opera cake, black raspberry bomboloni, pistachio canelé with Amarena cherries, and a delicate elderflower and Meyer lemon pudding tart. No Afternoon Tea is complete without scones, and ours are freshly baked in plain and apricot varieties, served with traditional clotted cream and preserves. Guests can enjoy their choice of drip coffee, hot chocolate, or one of our carefully curated specialty teas. For a more indulgent experience, consider our Royal Tea for Two. This luxurious addition includes one ounce of Petrossian Royal Ossetra caviar, served with warm house-made blinis, crème fraîche, and fines herbes. The Royal Tea is available at $155 per person, or $165 per person when paired with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Our traditional Afternoon Tea is offered at $95 per person, or $125 per person with a glass of Joseph Perrier, Brut NV. Reservations for Afternoon Tea are available exclusively through The Experience. We kindly request that cancellations be made by 10 PM the day prior to your booking. Please note that we allow a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals. Most people think they know tequila. This is Casa Dragones, a small-batch, sipping tequila so smooth and refined, it deserves a seat at the white tablecloth table. And at The Whitby bar, we’re giving it exactly that. This May, we’re throwing out the rulebook with a three-course experience built around bold Mexican flavors and two expertly crafted Casa Dragones cocktails. This is where fire meets finesse. Where heritage collides with creativity. And where tequila finally gets the respect it’s earned. We kick things off with Kampachi aguachile negro, delicate, raw fish hit with smoke, citrus, tamarind, cucumber, avocado, and just enough heat to wake up your palate. Served on heirloom corn tostadas that taste like somebody’s abuela still grinds them by hand. The main course? Short rib mole rojo. Fall-apart tender beef under a dark, velvety sauce that took hours (if not days) to perfect—built on chiles, spices, a touch of chocolate, and enough soul to write a novel. Topped with queso fresco and fresh cilantro, and served with warm handmade tortillas for wrapping, scooping, or just savoring every last drop. For dessert, we’re keeping it honest and unapologetically indulgent: Churros with a warm, spiced tequila chocolate sauce. Crispy, soft, just sweet enough. Paired with drip coffee, tea, and petit fours, because if you’re going to go all in, you might as well do it right. This isn’t your typical pairing dinner. It’s not quiet. It’s not delicate. It’s alive with spice, with spirit, and with stories waiting to be told. So come thirsty. Come hungry. And most of all, come curious. Because tequila like this? It doesn’t whisper. Having been highly rated we most definitely expected better quality food offerings. They did present well and looked very nice. However the bread for sandwiches were quite stale and the fillings really not up to the quality we felt it should have been. The desserts were ok. Service was great and the location is quite nice. Having been to High tea all over the USA and Canada for the cost and ratings we expected more.

Amazing service from meeting the host through to the end of the experience. Great food. Wonderful live music. The steak was one of the best I have ever had. Top marks all around.

We went for their afternoon tea which was delightful. The room and decor were also lovely. And the service staff were welcoming, pleasant and polite. The only downside is we booked our tea for the latest time slot in the afternoon, and the elegant dining room was right next to the bar area which was already heating up with loud music and chatter. This rather shattered the quiet ambience of the dining room. Unfortunately there was no sliding door to close off the room. So lesson learned, book your afternoon tea for earlier in the day before the after hours office crowd comes in!

Brought my colleagues here for dinner to celebrate a birthday. The Whitby has been a long time favorite of mine - everyone loved it. The food was delicious and the setting is just wonderful.

Afternoon tea experience was extremely disappointing. $95/pp for tea, 4 bite sized pastries, 2 scones, and 3 sliver sized and mushy finger sandwiches, and 1 the size of two quarters. The waiter said they make the food in advance which is why the sandwiches are mushy. The moisture from the food seeps into the bread and it’s very unappetizing. This is the second time we went to tea here and this has been the case both times. So for tea and scones, you can just go to Harney and Sons and pay $15 for an equally pleasant experience and the same amount of food. $95 for tea and scones is just highway robbery. The decor is nice and the tea is good, but that’s about it. Their sister hotel, the Crosby, has even better decor and I recommend their tea over the Whitby. They also serve much more food so the price feels more so justified, and while the sandwiches are also mushy there because they’re premade, they are much bigger. If you really want to go here, just order a cup of tea off the menu because the rest of the experience is not worthwhile.

My favorite go to for breakfast, and drinks! Food is healthy, fresh, and delicious! The menu has a great variety. The service is excellent and decor is bright, sophisticated and uplifting but warm. And mostly pretty low noise factor!
