Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass. We also have an excellent selection of beers and local cask ales.

In 2021 The Wheatsheaf was a new entry in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pubs and was also awarded The Michelin Red Plate.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesday except Bank Holidays.

    Consistently inventive, tasty, perfectly cooked food, drinks offering, and service in charming village location at fair pricing yet not at all pretentious.

    Our 1st visit for a very long time. It was perfect from beginning to end. Fantastic service, great menu and absolutely delicious food. Lovely atmosphere inside and outside in the garden.

    The food at The Wheatsheaf is excellent. The staff are well trained and attentive without being fussy. There is also a very good selection of wines and beers to choose from. All in all, an excellent meal out.

    Interesting, if fairly expensive, range of wine. Well kept Guinness. Very good value Lunch for Less. Excellent pork chop, spankingly fresh fish (Cornish sole). well cooked, well presented. Tasty starters. Home baked bread and tasty flavoured butter as well as the ubiquitous olive oil and balsamic dip. To cap it all Service is obliging, pleasant and informed. Excellent. The Wheatsheaf never disappoints You will always leave happier than when you arrived.

    A very nice place to eat. The food was excellent with a warm welcome as always by the host. The service was just a little bit slow. I can highly recommend this place.
