Based in Greetham, The Wheatsheaf is 6 miles from Oakham and 4 miles from Rutland Water. Carol and Scott took over the Wheatsheaf in March 2008. The seasonal Modern British menu changes weekly. The wine list is based on wines from around the world with a good selection by the glass. We also have an excellent selection of beers and local cask ales.

In 2021 The Wheatsheaf was a new entry in The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pubs and was also awarded The Michelin Red Plate.

We are closed on Mondays and Tuesday except Bank Holidays.

We (husband and wife, both long-retired) enjoyed our lunch immensely. He had the sole, which he said was excellently cooked (he is a great fish cook himself so this is high praise). I had wonderful, fresh oysters followed by duck breast which was perfectly pink as requested with delicious and innovative accompaniments. We then had the raspberry dessert, also to die for. We will definitely be coming back . Memorable and highly recommended. Glenda and John

We had a superb meal at the Wheatsheaf, Greetham. Scott and Carole run a very smooth operation here with Carole producing fantastic fresh dishes in the kitchen and Scott as a very amiable front of house. The menu is varied and inventive - such delicious choices. Nice beers as well. U They were so accommodating too when we asked to bring an extra guest at short notice, plus all the waiting staff are friendly and helpful. Our favourite place.

What a great place for lunch. Super attentive without being intrusive. Food was amazing, great selection of dinks and great value considering it’s an independent country pub. We will definitely be back and 100% would recommend to friends and family.

Our 1st visit for a very long time. It was perfect from beginning to end. Fantastic service, great menu and absolutely delicious food. Lovely atmosphere inside and outside in the garden.
