Overall the experience was good, however the service was less than stellar and the food was a mixed bag. The lobster bisque was on the salty side, the filet mignon and chicken were bland and lacking in flavor, and the asparagus and green beans were crudo. The star meal of the evening was the lobster roll and truffle tots, which were both delicious! The ambiance was both classically modern and aesthetically pleasing.
Food was good but service was very slow
The Restaurant has beautiful Decor, Quiet , food exceptionally good though little pricy. Service was little inspire of being a slow night. Nightly Prix Fix menu is worth the price. This was our first visit but we will return
They advertised a buffet brunch, which is one of the reasons we went on Sunday. It was a menu-only brunch which had a limited menu. I ordered Lipton tea, which our waiter (Fernando?) said was available. He brought a Tazo English Breakfast tea instead. He then insisted that it would taste the same, which of course, it's not.
They didn't offer cream or half & half for the coffee and tea, nor did they have a variety of sweeteners.
My wife ordered French Toast, and we had to ask twice for butter. The waiter didn't stop by to ask how everything was, and was not at all attentive. We also had to ask for refills on water.
He asked if we wanted refills on coffee/tea when he presented the check. I've seen people on their first day on the job do better than he did.
The only good things were the quality of the food and the jazz trio that was playing. It could have been a much better experience.
The food was about as good as it gets for a nice dinner on the Cape. My husband had a filet, which he enjoyed. I had the Buddha Bowl. Heavy on the beets, but still good. My son loved the lobster mac n cheese.
Food and service was excellent. The only negative for me is there was no baby changing station in the rest room.
Salmon topped with lobster and Halibut entrees were really generously portioned, perfectly prepared and presented, and a great value.
Very pricey for what it is. It was $300 for four people and we came home hungry-ish.
The waitstaff were kind, friendly, and accommodating. It was good, but quantity/taste/atmosphere didn’t warrant the price tag. This is Hyannis....not Boston. So a little disappointed~
Great place. First time there. Waitstaff assume. More then enough time in between courses. Never felt rushed. When back at the Cape a must return. Thanks
food was ok, service just ok. Nice place wish it was better.
Excellent food excellent service excellent atmosphere .Thank you !
I had the chance to go to the West end a year ago for my mother in laws birthday. Our experience then was wonderful, the food was great and there was a verity offered and the live Jazz was excellent. Unfortunately our experience this time wasn’t so good. Our Waiter seemed stressed and at one point was running between tables, and this wasn’t because he had many tables (6max). Omelets and egg dishes had to be ordered from the kitchen and frankly there was no flavor. I asked for an egg white omelet with ham, pepper, onion and tomato with American cheese. I was told by our waiter that the chef was stressed and there only regular omelets offered and to make it worse they had no American cheese! For what your paying per a person I expected to have a much more elevated experience and they missed the mark on this one!
Seated at table in the bar area, busy night and slightly understaffed.
Wonderful food!! Even though the restaurant appeared noisy we were easily able to have a nice conversation at our table! Highly recommend!!
Bartender made an excellent martini, our waitress was prompt, helpful and professional, lobster ravioli was good, swordfish was just ok. Despite all the hustle associated with getting people taken care of so they could make the show at the Melody Tent, service was pleasantly attentive.
We arrived early and could hear each other talk without getting close. As other guests arrived, it became quite noisy. We were waited on by Daniel who was wonderful and the food was cooked to perfection. We can recommend the lamb lollipops with a mint tea sweet sauce and only the flavor of jalapeño as well as the lobster escargot as starters. My friend enjoyed the braised short rib but found the carrots under cooked for her taste. I had the best swordfish I have ever eaten with just a bit of a hot spicy bite. We each got a dessert and shared bites. The chocolate mousse was very good as was the carrot cake although I would have preferred more nuts in the carrot cake.
They were so accommodating, allowing us to increase our reservation just 20 min before our arrival on a busy concert night. All in our party agreed that they make the best Mai Tai's outside of Hawaii. The food, ambience and service were outstanding. We've been going there for a few years and will continue to go there as our go-to place before a Melody Tent show. We love how you can valet your car and leave it there during the show. From the valet, hostesses, bartenders to table servers, we were so impressed.
The West End has great food and service! I would highly recommend! Delicious Oysters, tuna app & Salad with grilled shrimp. Cocktails are also fabulous!
Made an early res to be on time for a local show. Orders GIVEN to and repeated by wait person were not delivered as ordered. Kitchen needs to pay attention to the written order. FYI: burger ordered well done was delivered medium and flatbread without pickle was delivered with pickle. The manager did offer to replace and did replace. Not sure I will dine here again.
Attentive staff, warm ambiance, excellent food. Nice atmosphere in the bar area as well. I dined here for years when it was the Paddock Restaurant. The new environment is quite nice, having carried over just the right amount of the old decor and the new dining fare is quite excellent.
Happy to get a reservation on line3 hours before arriving, since seating in the bar area was crowded. However upon being seated I had a front row seat of "everyone who entered the mens or ladies room. The my wife's halibut was so overcooked that she only ate one third of it. My daughter's salmon was also dry. I picked the place because the online menu advertised buttermilk fried chicken however it was not on the menu with no explanation from the staff. Not a happy dinner.
ABSOLUTELY! WE'VE NOW BEEN MANY TIMES AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED
Excellent food and presentation. Great ambiance. Only challenge was once the dining area filled up, it was notably loud.
I love the West End, however, on nights when the Melody Tent has a concert going on, the service is simply too rushed. Our party of two ordered one appetizer and two entrees. The entrees came before the appetizer and by then we decided we did not want the appetizer anymore. The appetizer was served anyway. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes which were served after I had finished my entree. We ordered key lime pie and lava cake but they were out of the lava cake so instead they brought a piece of chocolate cake. They did not charge us for the lava cake/chocolate cake which was a kind gesture. I will always return to the West End but will avoid concert nights.
We had dinner before a concert at the Melody Tent with some friends. The waiter was on top of this probably because everyone there was going to the concert. He was good but a little stiff, it is not fine dining. Every thing was OK until we got the check, the menu was a little pricey but it was the charge for my husband’s Manhattan and my martini that cause me to go” NEVER AGAIN”. The Manhattan charge was broken down into ingredients, yes Makers Mark, vermouth and even the “rocks” that were $2. I got an up charge for the Martini glass. We thought it might have been some kind of joke but when we asked we were given an attitude like we were low life crazy nuts. My husband and I are Cape Cod locals and love to go out to dinner and are not afraid to pay for a good meal. But are not willing to pay for a mediocre meal at a restaurant that is trying to be something they are not. This is not New York City or even Boston. Get real!
Server and hostess were attentive even though they were clearly busy. We were celebrating a birthday and the server surprised us with a slice of cake!
Service was VERY slow. Food taste was excellent.
Food service was “disjointed”. Runner brought someone’s else’s food to use twice. Runners didn’t seam to know what tables got what food.
Waiter seemed put out when we requested the desert menu (which he said they didn’t have) but cited deserts available.
Noise level was so loud you could not even talk to dinner companion sitting 2 feet away in a normal voice
Would NOT recommend
Our waiter was awesome Entire staff perfect. Food Yummie. We will be back
Food was not good Buddha Bowl full of vinegar. They were very nice about the whole thing
Food and presentation superb. Delightful modern decor. Would highly recommend
Friends /couples dinner out
Food and service excellent
Great singer and music
However too loud for ambiance of dining room
Could not hear to talk At table
Good wine selection
This is a tough one. So much was good but when dessert falls flat it can ruin an otherwise really good meal. Appetizers and drinks were great. 1 of the entrees was fantastic, the other was okay/fine, just not as good. Desserts were not nearly as good as the rest of the meal. They were a bit of an afterthought. They should make fewer and concentrate on making those as good as everything else. Service was great and live music was nice and not overwhelmingly loud.
A group of four enjoyed a wonderful meal here last Friday night. Service, decor, food preparation all deserve a 5 star in my view. Also, an added benefit was that the West End allows dining patrons who are attending a show next door at the Melody Tent to leave their cars in their parking lot! Thus eliminating the need to repack just steps away! I won’t dine anywhere else before a Melody Tent show, now that I have been to the West End!
Food was average at best. Not worth the $$$ on this particular evening. Service was great and ambiance was good, but food just didn’t measure up
Great experience, awesome service and incredible food!
This was my second time for Sunday brunch. I was here in February for the "Jazz" Brunch but was disappointed that time to find that the musicians had called in sick! We were offered mimosas and bloody Marys which we thought were included in the price (no so). The food offerings this Sunday were fair with the usual bacon, sausage, pre-prepared scrambled eggs, several salad offerings that were all green and looked very similar. The pastries and bread items were disappointing. The pastries were store-bought and uninspired, there was unappealing French toast in the warmer. There were no specialty breads or rolls or even plain bread for toasting that I was aware of (did I miss something?), just a few varieties of muffins. The redeeming grace was the made-to-order omelet which was tasty and very satisfying. The other hit was the prime rib which was perfectly medium rare in the center and accompanied by au jus and horseradish sauce. The desserts were paltry and also uninspired. I had no problem skipping this course. The coffee was very good but you had to flag down a waiter for a refill (it is always nice when someone is circulating with a fresh pot). The best part was the music! The Bart Weisman trio was superb. The music selections were perfect for the occasion and these musicians are the best. All the staff were welcoming and attentive (less the coffee refill).
The ambiance of this place is like nothing else. We were sat near the bookcase and it was beautiful and interesting! It was perfect. The only issue I had was a bachelorette party sitting close by were a little loud and obnoxious. Other than that, food was phenomenal. Expensive, but worth it!!! Service was spot on!! Highly recommend!!
Awesome restaurant for dinner before a show at the Melody Tent! Food and drinks were superb! Truffle tater tots were delicious! Definitely would return!
