The Wellington, Neighborhood Eatery
Not at this time. It’s a nice place, but there’s just not enough there to justify the high prices.
we went for Mother's day brunch. The place was hopping and loud which was somewhat expected. Our waitress was overwhelmed and we waited 20 minutes just for drinks. The food was good but seemed much skimpier portions than what we have had in the past there especially for the price point. I had eggs benedict with salmon and a small potion of hash browns but there was not anything green or any fruit garnish and one of the yolks came broken. If I got this at a diner for $10-12 I would be pleased but not for $17! We have been to Wellington about 5 times now and once for Brunch before and it was a different experience. I would chalk it up to being busy and a holiday but we had gone there for Valentine's which was also very busy but had great food and normal portions.
Mother's Day brunch
Met with friends to have the Beef Wellington that is only available on Wednesday evening. It was fabulous!!
Too noisy and small portion for expensive dish. Food was good
This was a great brunch spot. Everything was as delicious as it looked, really cool-looking spot as well. Great service. Definitely want to go back!
I love this restaurant in terms of ambience, but the food was just not very good. I had the steak frites and it was awful - not a good cut of meat and the seasoning was sweet. Yuck.
Quality of food was not worth the price.
The manager, host, and servers at the Wellington made our anniversary dinner extra special. Complimentary champagne and avocado toast were delightful surprises, and everything we ordered was delicious. The Old Fashioned was smooth, and the Purple Rain cocktail was fun and refreshing. We enjoyed every bite of the fried chicken and duck, and the S’mores baked Alaska was a perfect end to the meal. The whole experience was wonderful, and we certainly will be returning to explore more of the creative food and drinks at this great neighborhood spot!
Tuna poke and kale were excellent. Burger was incredibly salty.
Love the food. The Waiter Joe is fabulous Booth was nice for 5. Very noisy though.
very small pours of wine
On this, our second trip to Wellington, we were disappointed. The waiter was attentive, but we found the daily special, a NY strip steak to be tough and grisly, with a lot of fat. The accompanying grits were only OK, but maybe that was because I’m not a big grits fan. After dinner, we retreated to the bar and waited a good 15 minutes for the bartender, even though the bar was only 1/2 full. Seems there were a lot of cocktails being ordered at the other end of the bar and at the tables. There should have been a second bartender to provide decent service.
It was not very busy when we got there for a 6:15 pm reservation. Our waitress was slow to take our drink orders. Food was very good, but Wellington is expensive.. $18 for a hamburger.
The ambiance at The Wellington was cordial and welcoming. The greeter and the waitstaff, in particular our waiter Joseph, were eminently polite and accommodating. A wonderful visit.
Relaxed vibe. Great food. Attentive service that left us alone and didn't rush us.
Nice to have a modern feeling pub with, locally sourced food. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was pretty good - the bread at the beginning is delicious. It was pretty loud in there (although the NCAA game was on, so maybe it was louder than a normal Saturday night). I do think they could benefit from some acoustical ceiling tiles or something to absorb some of the noise - the high ceilings and hard surfaces do not help. And it was very difficult to hear the conversation at our table.
Popovers were great! Steak dinner and salad also excellent. Dessert needs improvement- brownie sundae was more like a cake and not terribly moist, too skimpy on the chocolate sauce but portion was sizable. Excellent beer selection. All in all a very good meal!
Birthday celebration- the worst dining experience of our lives.
Very disappointed with the lack of taste with our food and price was ridiculous. Server was new and gave her the benefit of the doubt, but she isn't suited for this job.
I want to love this place. Have been here quite a few times.
4 of us at small table middle of restaurant. Music is so loud, had to shout. Burger undercooked, fries limp.
Won’t be back.
We went on a Saturday night for my birthday, and we had been excited to try The Wellington. The good news: the drinks were very good. But unfortunately, that's where it ends. The service was very poor, and our waitress seemed oblivious. Examples: our appetizer arrived before the cocktails, we did not receive silverware after that for the entrees, we sat with finished dinner dishes for 20min after that, and once the waitress dropped off the check, she never returned. Another waiter was kind enough to run the credit card for us. Every step of the meal was painful. And while the mussel appetizer was very good, the entrees were just meh. My lovely cut of flat iron steak had a very unnecessary bbq-flavored sauce.
It was noisy, but we had a booth and were able to converse without too much difficulty. The food was good, although some of the prices were high. I think the cauliflower "steak" a vegetarian dish, was $28, which seems high for a vegetable based menu item.
Two friends and I went to the Wellington for dinner. The lettuce wraps were excellent, very flavorful. At the servers suggestion we all ended up getting the pork dish. I found the flavor good, but the pork was extremely fatty. There was nothing exceptional about the meal which was quite expensive for what you got.
Dined with my family of five.
Mom enjoyed the lamb and my salmon was good as well. Mac and cheese and chicken wings where ordered by teenage nephews, which was good for them as well.
Sister's pork was very fatty...very strange. Mostly all fat!?
Our waiter was great. Very attentive but not in or way.
The food was nothing to write home about. The tuna burger was adequate but too heavy on the wasabi flavor of the mayo. Kimchee cauliflower was dry. I will say the glass of Malbec was great and don’t leave without trying an adult milkshake. The waitress was very professional and solicitous regarding a mistake with our order. All told the experience was pleasant and decent but wouldn’t go running back for the food.
Without a doubt, the best family pub I have ever been to...Nothing bad to say...I will go again...and again...and again
Wellington is as advertised - a nice neighborhood eatery. We had an attentive, friendly waiter; the food arrived in a timely manner; it was delicious and the portions generous without being overwhelming. We were seated in a smaller room off the main dining room (which was quite noisy), so request that room, if you can get it. There was plenty of parking both on the street and in the parking lot behind the restaurant. It was a wee bit pricey, but we felt we got our money's worth. We'll be returning.
This was my first time at The Wellington - my husband and I went there to celebrate his birthday. It had a very comfortable vibe - casual, welcoming and lively without being too noisy. We started with the hot spiced (and spiked) cider and the tuna poke bowl. The tuna was deep red and glistening it was so fresh. I ordered the miso-glazed Faroe Island salmon and my husband had the Beef Wellington. The salmon was buttery and full of flavor and cooked to perfection with unusual and well-chosen accompaniments. My husband had the Beef Wellington and, while it was beautifully presented, the dish itself was disappointing. He likes his beef rare and after the first slice the meat was pretty much medium. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful and at the end of the meal he brought a delightful bowl of ice cream with a candle to mark my husband's birthday. I will definitely return to The Wellington and probably try their truffled burger.
Nice place, good atmosphere. We were seated at a table in the middle which was slightly cramped.
Comfortable booths to the sides seat 5 or 6 people so if your group is that large request one.
Service was a bit slow. Food very good not great. Several good desserts shared were excellent.
Nice cocktail and beer list.
Overall recommended. We will go back again at some point
This was our first visit. There was 3 of us and we all thought the food was very good. The French Fries are some of the best I have had. We are looking forward to going back on a Wednesday which is when they do the Beef Wellington. Also the manager Saul spent some time at our table discussing the food.
Atmosphere is wonderful. The Winn Brook burger was excellent. Also had a rib special that was, unfortunately, just good. Wishing we had ordered off the menu for that meal, but other than that, the overall experience was great and we will definitely be visiting again!
Below standards for food in its category of dining
The food and service were good but the noise level was bad. It was difficult to carry on a conversation. I understand that people expect to see sports in restaurants these days but I do regard pro wrestling as a sport -- it's a farce.
This is our second time to the Wellington and we have had excellent meals/service on both occasions. The menu is great because it has burgers but also "fancier" options such as steak and seafood. The appetizers are also very good - loved the chicken lettuce wraps and hummus plate. The ambience is fun but a bit loud. We had a booth which helped with the noise level and was a bit less crowded than a regular table. The service is great - attentive but not overbearing. Good beer selection too.
Interesting selections of food. Plenty of beverage options. People obviously having fun there on a Saturday night. The menu is a bit on the expensive side, but I got real food and excellent service for my money.
Nice addition to Belmont!
Got seated in the private area by the front window which was a nice surprise. The main dining area looked noisy.
As mentioned in many reviews prices are high - shawarma which I ordered was $28 and $20 for a burger. Both dishes were good but the burger wasn’t anything spectacular. The shawarma was delicious and I wasn’t sure about the apple mint but I couldn’t even detect it. Chicken wings for starters were also enjoyed. The sauce they were cooked in was quite tasty and different.
Waitstaff was lacking a great review. The water replenish staff spoke no English when asked for an item. Our waiter was pleasant but not over attentive. He filled our water glasses and never asked how our meals were.
We had a good experience but due to the price of dishes this will not be a regular rotation for us. For these prices we could definitely get the same food items at another restaurant minus the high prices.
This is the third time in a row that they were out of the first beer I ordered and multiple beers overall. How hard is it to change a keg? Have new beers ready to go. They were out of both multiple draft beers and cans. It's a paper beer menu and should be easy to keep up to date. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to come back to our table to tell us they were out of the first beer we ordered.
Also, get some appetizers that are easy to share.
The restaurant is over priced overall.
I ate a salad that was the size of a side and cost $28 for a brunch option. The salad did come witj everyhing the menu offered on it. It was good but i was hingry. A side of tater tots stone cold! Came here beciase we had a certicate but not again
