The Wayfarer's interior, designed by the award-winning Meyer Davis Studio Inc , evokes a feeling of “old meets new,” drawing inspiration from the 1970’s blended with the classic New York of the 1800’s. The multi-leveled restaurant offers the choice to observe passerby's on the main floor by our open cafe glass windows or enjoy a cocktail in our upstairs lounge.

Outstanding restaurant — love the food and service very much
Attentive staff and delicious food.
The food was awesome and the service was excellent!
The water was warm 🤯
Service left something to be desired. I called to see what time they stopped breakfast and made reservation according. Got there and had to convince them to serve us breakfast (guess they broke everything down early and the hostess didn't communicate with kitchen staff we were coming.) Server forgot a lot of our stuff and wasn't very pleasant.
Food was okay, but overpriced for the lackluster service they provided.
What a great evening, the food and service was excellent!
Service was very pleasant and efficient. The Calamari appetizer was superb. So was the salmon and the lobster roll. Did not have dessert.
Certainly a good choice in midtown for tasty food.
Great Steak. Lobster chowder and sushi were excellent, would definitely return
Great location on 6th Av... Excellent service... Food was very good... I thought a bit pricey... $150 for 2 w/o tip... But food was well prepared and steaks were excellent. Quick service... so we made our show comfortably. Look forward to eating here again.
Great food in a refined environment. Accurate service, friendly staff, the only problem was the wine list that was not up to date and only on the third attempt was the chosen bottle present.
nice service. small portions
We came in for a late snack. The tuna roll and Mac & cheese were perfect for us. The managers were attentive and polite. Thank you!
Great spot for breakfast in the heart of Midtown. While the menu is small, almost everything is well executed. Snappy staff, and walls of windows that open to the Avenue in warmer weather.
Very nice brunch selection. The food was all prepared very well. The atmosphere is very upscale and the service was very good and attentive. We'll be going back again, and maybe try it for dinner.
The food was good and the service was great. We were especially impressed with one thing. There was man dining there who was excessively difficult and kept making an unreasonable scene. The manager dealt with him several times, comping his meal, remaking his entree, doing everything in his power to please him. The manager was professional and kind in a situation where he had a customer who was impossible to please. Kudos to him and his staff who all conducted themselves with patience and professionalism.
Some confusion with our orders, no one remembered who got what and some meat was cooked incorrectly. Everything was sorted out and the food ended up being quite good.
Very good service and the food was made perfectly.
Fun place with a great menu for kids but still interesting and “goody” enough for adults for a fabulous brunch
Worst service ever. Totally incompetent staff. Used to be great but now awful. this was our third visit and we will never return.
We had a nice Restaurant Week meal at The Wayfarer. Good service, tasty food.
If you need a quick bite this is a pretty good stop off in midtown, NYC.
At first they did not get my order right and they were quick to fix it.
The portions were fine and noise level was manageable.
I work in the area so I visit there when I have a business lunch or need to be close to the office.
Staff was very accommodating.
Overall, a nice lunch experience.
Great atmosphere & great food!
Waitress rudely interrupted us several times during our discussion—she needs to be prompted to wait a few seconds and catch one of the diners’ eyes before talking. Removal of plates also too aggressive without waiting a second for us to confirm we were done. We had started early in the lunch hour so there was no reason to push us so hard. This was the first bad experience I’ve had there.
Food was very good. But, we had to ask multiple times for coffee refills, and the server forgot to bring us syrup for our waffles and nobody stopped by again until we were finished eating. Overall had a good experience and the seats were comfy, but service was lacking.
Excellent service and the food was wonderful.the shrimp appetizer was very flavorful and my salmon was cooked to my request. It was a wonderful experience.
Great food, great service. We both had a Restaurant Week special. Highly recommend a visit.
Food was good, service was just ok. I had to ask for more coffee and the servers decided to chat right next to our table. I also had to ask for salt and pepper and then another server came by and picked it up off my table before I even used it (is there one set?!) Avocado toast was excellent! I like the casual vibe and location was super convenient to my hotel.
They were very accommodating my tweaks to my eggs benedict (bacon instead of Canadian bacon, sliced tomatoes instead of other sides. It came with tons of bacon, eggs were done perfectly and the hollendaise was top notch. The problem? The english muffin was burnt and that permeated the entire rest of the dish. I should have sent them back, but didn't. My waitress and busboy were great.
Great location food good but sides were overpriced even for NYC. Steaks were delicious but had been sitting before we got them so not as hot as I would have expected
One of best dining experiences in NYC:
Food and Service.
We were visiting NYC and decided to try The Wayfarer because it was close to our hotel. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed a quiet Sunday dinner with a bottle of white Burgundy and Long Island raw Oysters, a Sushi rool andthe oven baked chicken wings. Great service, will be back.
Great place to eat... Huge wine selection.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the Wayfarer. We walked in and there were very few tables taken so I was a little skeptical but they filled in quickly and the food and service was excellent. I will be back.
Holiday weekend so quiet. Server and goat very nice, just not what we were looking for Friday night.
We eat here regularly. The food is always delicious, beautifully presented, very varied menu. We joked last night that if the place is jam packed, the service stinks, and if the place is three quarters empty, the service stinks. This is not anything to do with the wait staff, which is always very nice. It appears to be all the fault of the kitchen, which is very slow, always. So if you’re time constrained this is not the place for you. Otherwise, I’ve never had a bad meal here.
Service was very slow and inattentive for breakfast on a quiet day. There were only a handful of occupied tables. The food was adequate, bread was nothing special, inattentive service--it took a long time to get the bill.
Lovely Sunday brunch menu. Good selection, reasonable prices, great service.
I've been here before and had no issues. This service today for some reason was very off. We were first greeted by a waitress who didn't seem like she wanted to serve us. Then we had a different waiter, who took our order and seemed to want to help us. After we got our food we never saw a waiter again unless we were looking for them for water and refill on drinks
Food was good. Service was very slow.
