The Wayfarer's interior, designed by the award-winning Meyer Davis Studio Inc , evokes a feeling of “old meets new,” drawing inspiration from the 1970’s blended with the classic New York of the 1800’s. The multi-leveled restaurant offers the choice to observe passerby's on the main floor by our open cafe glass windows or enjoy a cocktail in our upstairs lounge.

The dining room was quite, the food was good and fresh. The service was spot on, enjoyed red press juice.
Wasn't aware that this place even existed. They seated us at a quiet booth in the back of the restaurant. Service was attentive but not pushy. We enjoyed all the food that we ordered. All in all a delightful surprise experience.
Ordered ravioli and received maybe
four of them- I don’t find paying NYC prices- but please, give me a filling meal- received a large side dish of broccolini- which was of expensive with not much flavor
Still loved the ambiance and the dessert was great
Good experience and the manager was attentive and did his best to help us after he realized the Open Table menu and the menu at the restaurant were very different. I was hoping for more seafood but they had more carnivorous options, overall the food and drink were good.
Great food! The truffle fries and sushi were outstanding. My daughter said the skirt steak was the best she has ever had! Definitely a do again!!
We ordered oysters, hamburger, pork and chicken. The hamburger meat was freshly made. The pork and chicken were PERFECTLY cooked. Service was phenomenal.
Very nice Ambiente, super friendly, food delicious
The food was incredible, relaxed atmosphere.
Food was very good and the atmosphere was lovely. Smaller menu selection but delicious items offered. Located near times square and not far from central park making this restaurant a great choice for many!
Good and convenient place for brunch. Good menu selection, attentive staff
I went over the Christmas holiday for brunch with some out of town friends. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the eggs benedict, which was very good, but the sides were outstanding. I think these were the best home fries I've ever had. And the side salad was perfect as well. The servers were very attentive, coming to check on us and to fill our water frequently.
The is pretty nice and large and must have good acoustics because it wasn't loud at all even though it was pretty crowded.
I would definitely go back.
While we recognize that Christmas Day is a holiday and our hearts go out to those who have to work, this alone does not make up for the experience we had yesterday at the Wayfarer. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks, another hour for our entrees which were served without the sides, the pork loin was under cooked, and only one of the fish orders had a grilled lemon the other two did not. When we pointed this out a sliced fresh lemon was unceremoniously brought to the table as if we were wrong to mention it. During the long wait for our meals our request for more bread was ignored, and when we pressed them initially for why our drinks took so long first the “bar was backed up” and then “it was because they made too many drinks” which made no sense until our waitress later explained that the “made too many of the wrong drinks”. We were midway through the entrees when our sides arrived, and even then the order was wrong. The holiday menu was a limited prix fixe, but when we ordered the liver pate our waitress abruptly responded “Oh we don’t have that”. I have been to hundreds of restaurants and don’t believe I have ever posted a negative review, being of the “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all generation” but I feel compelled to share this truly bad experience because it took what should have been a memorable day in the city and turned it into the the worst restaurant service we have ever had story instead, certainly not the way you want to remember Christmas Day!
We weren't greeted for an extended period of time. I finally found a carafe of water and filled our water glasses myself. Food was really good. I found out the following day they added $32 to my tip. I already tipped 20% so it stung a little. I let it go because it was the week of Christmas and the server was nice. I would only go if I had time to enjoy good food with below average service.
What a beautiful restaurant hidden in the middle of the chaos of midtown. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and busy but quiet atmosphere! We could actually hear each other speak from across the table. By far one of our favorite restaurants in midtown! Highly recommend.
Service was very slow. Waiter came back to the table to say an item was OOS and said it was probably a good thing because the serving size was small - made my sister feel like maybe he thought she was big. Took forever to receive our food as well. And from host to waiter to bus staff, no one was all that friendly.
We wanted to be in midtown but not dead center of all the Christmas craziness. This was the perfect spot and the menu was diverse and delicious! If you go here be sure to stay for dessert!
The wayfarer used to be much better than it is now. Not sure why it is slipping. Service was hit/miss. Food was OK but not stellar like it used to be. I’ll try it again but hoping they tighten up their act before I return.
The food was not great for the price. The ambiance and personnel were lovely
Everything was ok but just ok. We were happy to be seated at a big round booth so we could have quiet meal. It was our 55 anniversary, which we noted but no one said anything. Last year they wished us a happy anniversary
Unimpressive overall experience. Would not return.
We ate brunch here on Saturday and it was a great experience! The chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict were delicious. We would recommend both! The food came out very quickly which was nice because we hadn’t eaten yet that day. The service is good, the restaurant is styled beautifully, and it is located very close to Central Park, where we went afterward for a carriage ride.
Quick and good. Thanks again.
Great lobster roll.
Very nice midtown restaurant
Food was good but service was absolutely terrible. It was so bad that tables would clap for each other when they finally received their drinks.
This was the best service and food I have ever had with my 11-year old son that has life threatening food allergies. Every person was in tune with his allergy and all over keeping him safe! The food was delicious for the entire family!! Kudos to the manager on staff, I didn’t get her name but she was amazing!!!
Great brunch!!!!everything was delicious
I’ll be back
Very nice experience at The Wayfarer. The food and service were excellent but we were glad we arrived at 10am since it was crowded when we left.
We went specifically because we wanted oysters - they were out of oysters. We ordered Brussels sprouts, they were out of Brussels sprouts. Let me add that it is not a large menu. And it was only 8pm. They should have what’s on the menu. My husband asked how they made a certain cocktail and ordered it based on the answer which turned out to be wrong. We decided to share the shredded beef ravioli for $33 which came with 4 pieces, and not even large pieces. Thats $8.50 per ravioli! It was tasty, but not that tasty... I never write reviews but this place was a disaster. Would not recommend to anyone!
Food was good, but very poor service.
Service was slow.
Loved the Wayfarer -- great raw bar-type food and sushi rolls. Highly recommend for midtown eats in a casual environment with friends.
This spot is a can't miss. The food and cocktails are great, the service is outstanding, and the space is beautiful and spacious. Unlike so many other restaurants in New York that cram people in, this place is so comfortable and inviting. One of my favorites.
I can review this place a hundred times and I bet would still give it 5 stars. It’s just a jewel.
Was really quiet for a 12:30 Saturday brunch. Food was good but not special. Not as expensive as other similar quality restaurants in the area. Cozy environment, good staff. Easy experience overall.
Excellent food and service!
A bit pricey for breakfast, but the French Toast was delicious.
The food was just ok. My French toast was soaked with vanilla sauce, too sweet. Not one person at my table(6 of us) loved their meal.
Mixed up food, randomly passed out, and had to ask multiple times for refills.
