The Wayfarer's interior, designed by the award-winning Meyer Davis Studio Inc , evokes a feeling of “old meets new,” drawing inspiration from the 1970’s blended with the classic New York of the 1800’s. The multi-leveled restaurant offers the choice to observe passerby's on the main floor by our open cafe glass windows or enjoy a cocktail in our upstairs lounge.

Unfortunately, one of our group received her entree after the rest of us were halfway finished with ours. We were told that only 3 of 5 servers showed up for work on Easter Sunday.
Server was extremely slow. Took three times to get the correct drinks delivered to our table. Server also wasn’t very attentive, water glasses were empty. Overall just ok experience.
Love this place. Always amazing. Great food and superb staff.
Wife’s birthday - great food and service
Food was good
An excellent spot for before or after the theatre. Menu selection is very good, service first rate.
Solid but uninspiring. This restaurant was close to our hotel and had an opening before our show, plus our daughter wanted a steak. The food was competent and well prepared, but not special -- the chef didn't really seem to have a point of view. The waiter discouraged my husband from ordering sushi (what he really wanted) because "it's not enough for a meal". We saw other sushi plates, and it would have been perfect for him. The restaurant is very comfortable and pleasant inside, and staff is professional.
Seat ( bench) was not comfortable . No table cloths.
Great evening! The staff were professional and friendly and the food was great! I left my cell phone there and they were prompt in helping me find it and I was back on my way!
Service was very slow
Food was mediocre
Cost was high
Breakfast - yum!!
When you pay around $50 or so for a sirloin or rib eye steak without any accompaniments whatsoever then you at least expect the steak to be of a standard befitting the reputation of New York. Sadly this was not the case. Any flavour just seemed to be in the charred surface and the sirloin consistency was pretty dry even for a medium finish. The rib eye was slightly less dry which you might expect because of the cut and the medium-rare finish but even so I've had better flavour and texture from well known chain restaurants in the UK. Whem I visit New York I expect something much better than that - especially when a meal for 3 with no wine and just two starters set us back around $240! It is true that this was not exactly my first choice of restaurant but picked due to haste, so hopefully does not reflect NYC steak reputation in general. Anyhow my advice - don't go there for steak
Amazing! Impeccable service & great simple food.
Love this place so much!! Had an amazing girls lunch. The space is beautiful and the food SO GOOD. Will be back soon.
Excellent spot for brunch. Ambiance, great food, perfect midtown location.
Lovely, helpful staff. Very good selection of food that is really well prepared. Celebrated a special occasion there and the staff were excellent at helping us mark the occasion. Highly recommended.
Nice place I like to visit for a relaxed quiet business breakfast from time to time.
Absolutely love this place. Food and service is always exceptional!
They didn't have the items that were listed on their menu online.
The restaurant was pretty empty (Monday night)
The music was so loud...we asked them a few times to lower it and they did a little.
Service was slow and sloppy
The ambience at Wayfarer was very nice. My order was messed up but the server was very attentive to remedy the situation which I appreciate. We were verbally informed about children's specials for my 7 year old, who ordered the kids pasta. When the bill came, that pasta was $17, which is a ridiculous price for a kids serving of pasta with butter and parmesan on it. Otherwise, everything else was ok.
Great food and seating in banquet. Service efficient and polite. Generous portions.
Great service great food and the restaurant is laid out nicely
The food and the service were exceptional
Gen lugar de comida americana. Gran ambiente y comida.
Service, servers, and look of the restaurant were all great. Went for brunch and the food was fine. Taste was fine, presentation left plenty to be desired. For the price I’d go elsewhere.
Food and service never disappoints. Another excellent experience!
We went here for brunch because it got good reviews and was close to our hotel. My husband liked his eggs benedict and my daughter got the bagels and smoked salmon plate which she said was fine. My omelet was the driest, blandest omelet I have had in a long time. At first I thought they had forgotten the cheese because it was sooo dry. The veggies were barely cooked. The servers were nice but we had to flag them down if we wanted anything; more coffee, more hot water, ketchup for the potatoes, salt & pepper for by bland omelette, etc.
The food was good, but the menu online was not the menu in house. Service was mediocre for the price.
This was a real let down. From the moment we walked in the staff were unfriendly and uninterested. I assume it was because we were tourists - when I said I had a booking the hostess looked shocked... The food was the biggest disappointment from the night. The fries were obviously cooked in old oil as they were soggy, dark brown in colour. This place is not cheap yet they can’t even nail the fries... We also ordered the lobster roll (tasteless, rubbery and smothered in sauce to hide the poor quality lobster), Mac and cheese (basically short rib and some pasta, overloaded with truffle oil to try substitute the lack of task) and the rissotto (our mistake, should never have ordered this at an “American” style restaurant. Overall, we were serverly dissaappointed with the food and the service. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
fantastic fantastic service and the food and cocktails were amazing. our server was AWESOME.
Excellent service and food. The environment is informal and welcoming. Lovely meal
We had been to the wayfarer several years ago for a quick bite and staying at 57 West right across the street decided to make it part of our anniversary celebration. So glad we did. Wonderful table, complimentary bubbly, and great food, all made for a five star experience. They even rectified a mistake with the salad by not charging for it even though we went ahead and ate it. My wife lost her eyeglass/cellphone case and they searched high and low for it. To no avail, but they tried and called the next day to tell us it never showed up. Really like this place.
Fab brunch, I ate entirely too much and then couldn’t properly do my afternoon workout...but totally worth it!! Also, Alex was a simply smashing server ;)
Recommend burgers were overdone with no inquiry from server, but great fries. Services was extremely slow particularly drinks. Would not recommend or go back
This restaurant is ok if you like food fast. I personally like to relax between each course unfortunately that was not the case with this restaurant. Also my husbands pork chop was over cooked it was replaced, but I was finished my meal by the time he got his back.
Very nice restaurant but very expensive. Great food
Great bacon & unsweetened Matcha latte.
Lobster roll was very tough . Would not order. Our first bad food experience after many delightful dinners at the Wayfayer.
It might be because we were tired but there were just a couple of things that just weren’t up to par for a place that seemed to be a place to get some great food. First, the service was, at best, mediocre. Inattentive at times and at other, didn’t seem to even want to be there. Next is the food. Burger and fries were burger and fries...nothing wrong there. The steak (filet) was adequate, however the seasoning wasn’t as described and the sauces weren’t the ones that were included on the menu. This wouldn’t have been a problem if our waiter would have made time to see if there was anything he could do. Oh, I also ordered the charred brussel sprouts but they came out not even close to being charred but were instead quite soggy. Seriously, once I tried one of those, it almost took an entire beer to wash that taste out of my mouth. In the end, if you have another option, take it.
Still prefer restaurants with nice tablecloth, the food was from lunch menu, chocolate hazelnut cake was outstanding
