The Wayfarer's interior, designed by the award-winning Meyer Davis Studio Inc , evokes a feeling of “old meets new,” drawing inspiration from the 1970’s blended with the classic New York of the 1800’s. The multi-leveled restaurant offers the choice to observe passerby's on the main floor by our open cafe glass windows or enjoy a cocktail in our upstairs lounge.

Food was delicious, service impeccable, management stopped by our table to say hello, great atmosphere, cozy on a snowy Feb day!
Had brunch with a friend here. I was escorted immediately to a booth and ignored for 20 mins while I waited on my friend. I never even got water or anyone to ask if I wanted anything. I had to physically get up and tap a waiter to ask for water. I had called out for one multiple times and was ignored. When service finally came they forgot half our order, overcharged us twice and had drinks spilled on our table. The food was subpar and the service even more so. Will never return.
Went for Valentine’s Day, was great except they kept trying to give our food to ppl next to us
Usually one of my favorite places but not a great experience on Valentine's Day. Service was disinterested and the pacing of the meal was all over the place. Forget about the waiter offering additional drinks or even water. Bread plates provided but no turnovers (although every other table was given them). They were probably overwhelmed by the crowd but really disappointed.
Great lunch spot in midtown north. Menu variety is quite good and the staff is very accommodating.
Great food great service We will return on our next trip to NYC
So we stopped by for a late night snack and were overall disappointed. We were initially drawn to the restaurant by a few items on the menu online to only get to the restaurant to find out that they were no longer on the menu. The sauce* that came with the bread was an olive and rosemary concoction that was extremely bitter. This is also coming from someone who loves olives. The spicy tuna roll was so, so — nothing to rave about but not the worst. The consistency of the tuna and wasabi wasn’t the best either, which brings me to the “Broccamole.” While the ingredients look somewhat appealing in the menu “broccoli, avocado, almonds, peppadew peppers,” however all together it was probably the blandest guacamole dish I’ve ever had in my life. The only thing that saves this dish was the lime on the side. The chicken and dumplings were the best dish we had. While the plate could have been tad hotter temperature wise, the pairing on the blue cheese salad with the chicken dumpling was delicious. The hot honey is at the bottom of the dish which I missed with the first bite. While I understand why the honey was placed on the bottom of the plate, the honey could have also been served drizzled on top. So once again we stopped in for a quick bite to eat and drinks. Hopefully, their entrées are better. But overall this was a miss.
Great food, nice ambiance, if a bit dark. Could have had a better choice of too loud background music. Service was good.
Really enjoy the ambiance of this place. The food is good as well.
So I have been to wayfarer with family friends at least 100x in the past since I live nearby. Let me start by saying out of all the prior times I only had one time I was annoyed...until today. I don’t know if it’s a new manager or staff (none of the regular folks except front desk did I recognize), but they were BLASTING this horrible music on a Saturday morning while trying to eat our brunch. If they do it again, I will just go back to Rue 57. Not only was the music loud, but it was a horrible station, none of the catchy tunes you’d normally hear. Food was yummy as always but we were definitely annoyed. Thanks!!
The food was wonderful. Our server was particularly charming and attentive.
Everything was “okay”.
Love the Wayfarer its such a wonderful restaurant. The service is always great the ambiance and the food outstanding !!
We had a lovely Saturday brunch. Food and service was great.
Another NYC eatery that would be the best restaurant in most other cities. Other than a bit too obtrusive music, the creative and plentiful meal was first rate.
Love the wayfarer. Never disappoints. Avocado toast is bomb!
Lovely booth. And thank you for the cookies! We had a wonderful time.
The restaurant is perfect. special tastes and fancy cocktails!
We live on the block. Just moved in. Loved it! Definitely will be regulars.
Great atmosphere and vibe. Service was fantastic and the menu had great options for everyone. Great pre-theater option.
While the food was good, the service was more than lacking. Very disappointed.
Overall a good experience, although there were some issues with service and communication, especially at first when we were handed the Restaurant Week menu, only to have it taken away by the manager (the server made a mistake). Sushi and other specialty items were good and it was a comfortable place to eat. Not a stellar night and probably not a place we'll return to.
Fine new American bold cuisine. Its the real deal ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
Wayfarer is a friendly spot with terrific flavors and drinks at a reasonable price. Plus, the location is terrific.
This is a convenient spot for a business lunch. Tend to seat you right on time. I wouldn't recommended it as destination dining for anyone coming to the city but it's a decent option. The food is good, the vibe is nice and there are a variety of menu choices. On a recent visit for a business lunch, we were a little turned off when the server informed us that ordering sushi might cause serious delays in our meal, as there was a new sushi chef in training. She advised the other entrees would come first, and then sushi late. OK - so we changed plans. We ordered a guac/chips appetizer and salads. We were served our salads and then the appetizer came afterward. Made no sense and was a little frustrating. Suggest the restaurant figure out how to help the service work in an optimal fashion.
Our new favorite NYC restaurant .
Local and welcoming .
Service is Aplus plus .
No rush ... nice house wines.
Recommend the Sea Bass.
You’ll go back !
Wayfarer has a wonderfully varied menu. This is my go-to lunch spot in midtown.
We eat here often as it is a block from where we live. The food is uniformly very good. The service is mostly very good (it starts to show cracks when it’s very busy). The staff is always very, very nice as arecthe ladiescat the front desk. The warm chocolate chip cookies are a ten. The only place I can be critical is that it is a little expensive for what it is.
Service was slow - i only had 1 glass of wine over 2 hours and they were confused about the bill
Overpriced for the quality; mediocre service.
Great looking room. Professional servers. Incredible food. Little pricey but this is New York and worth it.
Food was good!
Food was tasty, but the service was poor. After waiting for more than 30 minutes to get the waiter to come to us, we were told the house was too busy and they weren’t expecting it. He came back with a platter with cookies, which he said were on the house, as an apology, which was nice. But for our surprise, we were charged for them in the end!!
The waiter was not very professional. It took us 40 min to get 2 glasses of wine and a cocktail. Our appetizer even came before our drinks and our waiter some some excuse that he can’t go behind the bar to do it himself. He was not attentive and rushed us to order at first to only then disregard our table later on. Food was sub par and way over priced. Will not been going back for dinner there ever again, it was a waste of time and money.
Outstanding food and they treated us to dessert because it was my dad's birthday. One of my favorite spots.
Food was good!
Great breakfast. I had the avocado toast and a fresh green juice. Service was good and prices were comparable.
Great food and atmosphere for New Years Eve
