   This struck us as a cafe-bar and not a restaurant. The building is some distance off road set amongst fishing lakes and lodges. Very ample parking provided. An attractive area with a fishpond and rockery plus waterfall at the side is clearly popular with young families but was in need of a general tidy-up to remove litter. Except for a single young waitress, all other staff were busily engaged in dressing the chairs and tables for a wedding reception the following day so we had to sit in an area of close-set tables - very cafe-like! We decided having driven there that we would 'give it a try' and opted for the safe choice of fish and chips rather than other menu items. The food was acceptable if not memorable. The waitress was pleasant but could benefit from better inter-personal skills and training in customer service. I did tip because she did her best. There was absolutely no atmosphere or dining ambience and we did not choose to linger. Sadly, I cannot recommend The Watermill Bar & Restaurant to anyone looking for more than a bar meal based on this visit.

   Arrived and taken to table. After several minutes I had to retrieve my own menus. Lacked ambiance and rather cold in both temperature and atmosphere. Food was good and hot although some what I expected and lacked flair and presentation. Did not want to stick around for drinks or desert. Pity as this place has great potential.
