The Waterfront Restaurant & Lounge
First impressions are big and this place left a great one. Sitting on the patio looking over the water was just an amazing setting. The food was great, too. I can't wait to go back.
Nothing was wrong, but nothing was right. I got Boursin Chicken, it was supposed to have a Boursin cream cheese sauce, but the sauce was the consistency of water and there was SO MUCH of it. It felt like I had a plate of soup. It did taste good though. The clam chowder had huge chunks of celery in it, and a lot of it. My husband got the Mahi mahi Which was supposed to have a pineapple salsa on it, and it was five tiny pieces of pineapple. Then the bill came. They charged $11.50 for a double 7&7, which is absurd. The food was WAY OVERPRICED, for the quality. It’s a beautiful place, but for the price there should be a little more care put into the presentation of the food. It was our first wedding anniversary and I feel like I could have gotten similar food at an Applebee’s and spent way less money.
I was mostly OK with my first visit. Unfortunately my beer was not cold enough. Waiter said the keg was just changed, but even spare keg's should be in the cooler ! My wife's slaw was spoiled and instead of our waiter who I believe was Chris giving us the correct change back. He rounded it off to the lowest dollar which cost him 5% off his tip. His lost, not mine. Not sure if we will return. I mostly am OK with the prices, but I expect to get what I pay for.
We enjoyed the patio very much!
Very good lunch and sat outside. Good service and good value. Will return for sure.
Over priced food and mixed drinks. Mediocre service but the band, “50 Amp Fuse “, was AWSOME!
They have a lovely outdoor deck looking over the Detroit River so that seating is in high demand. We waited for a table outside and as we were seated an outdoor band began to play. It didn’t make for good dinner conversation, the service was just average along with the food. It’s a nice place for cocktails.
Outsoor patio is great
The atmosphere was wonderful, great views right on the river. Crab cakes were excellent, as was the spinach artichoke dip. However, the home made pita chips were a bit hard.
Nothing particularly notable, aside from nice patio dining.
It was nice to sit on patio & enjoy view & weather. Otherwise, not particularly interesting. Food not memorable. Service ok, but quite slow to receive food. Not likely to return.
This trip to the Waterfront was because I won a gift certificate. It was a delightful experience having lunch on the water’s edge. I will visit again
I had been wanting to try this place for dinner. The food was ok... not great but not horrible. Same with the service. The views are great but that was about it. I'd go back and maybe try something simple like a burger. The Chicken Picata was bland and my clam chowder was luke warm. When I told the server it was not hot she just said she would let the kitchen know but no offer of something else or a warm up (I had two spoonfuls). My husband liked his fettuccini alfredo but overall... just meh experience.
Normally the food is pretty good and the drinks, love the white sangria.
Tasted the lavender sangria special and it was terrible, too sweet not like sangria at all. The food left lots of room for Desire, ordered a filet mignon almost $40 cooked medium when the rest of the table ordered pasta, fish and chips and mahi tacos. My steak came out almost when everyone was done with meals, when I sliced into the steak it was well done., disappointing, sent back the steak and asked to have it removed from the bill. The lettuce for the mahi tacos was old, not a good experience. Surprised because we go here often my kids and I. Off day? Maybe
Great first experience! We decided to try The Waterfront since Portofinos changed to a ala carte menu and its just gone downhill. . Erin our server was great! She even ran after us to make sure we didnt leave my moms flowers that were given to her for her 88th birthday. 😃
We will definitely be coming back and making it our “go to” waterfront restaurant.
It took too long to get my table for having reservations and my soup was cold and shorted on my change. Service was not good.
I would recommend probably during lunch time. Was there before and had no problem.
The food was okay but the ambiance of the restaurant definitely makes up for it! The service was very good as well and I really enjoyed myself overall.
We were very disappointed! We felt rushed, pushed out and the food was not very good either. Our meal came before we were done with our soup. No bread came without prompting from me. Our bill came without asking, we wanted more drinks and possible dessert.
We had a gift certificate for $50 and we were only credited for $10. We were told the manager did it and basically we couldn’t question it.
The food was bland and not worth the price.
We won’t be back. Sad because it was a beautiful atmosphere.
Good food, VERY poor service., ruined the whole experience
Lovely place. Band mucus was awful...thumping thumping not pleasurable. However everything else was terrific.
beautiful and peaceful! Will come again and recommend to family.
First time dining here on the recommendation of a friend. Sat outside on the deck and everyone and everything was excellent. View was great also. We did have a reservation and were seated right away as it was busy. I did observe a group of four that came up on a boat and docked without a reservation and did have to wait.
Check it out I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.
Drove over an hour to come enjoy dinner on the water. Wasn’t able to sit outside 45 min wait after making reservations and nobody in the lobby and sat there watching 10 different people be sat outside. Appetizer came out. Needed the server for cocktail sauce to go with calamari. Time we got the managers attention to help us it was cold. Asked how we waited burger cooked, med rare, came out well done. Fries were cold. Asked for more bread told 4 mins it’s in the oven. Never brought it out. I don’t get many weekends off so we drove all that way and rented a hotel to stay in town to enjoy the sights, but after visiting the restaurant...it totally dampened my weekend
Took family and friends from out of town to experience the view. Food was ok. Service was great band was good. Sat outside.
7pm arrival. Flooded parking lot. Large party inside with high noise volume. Staff refused to seat outside even though 3 tables open . Told there was a waitlist for patiobut saw no one waiting. Service and drinks were good. Salad was not washed, entree was extremely salty, and a small hair was on my cauliflower. Tipped waitress she was not at fault. No hairnets on cooks. Will not return due to management's poor attitude with complaints
The wait time for seating was a bit longer than promised; however outdoor seating was in high demand. Our appetizer and wine were wonderful, and the entree, eggplant parmesan, was good overall. Some of the entree prices seemed unreasonably high, such as $29 for chicken parmesan.
The Food was Delicious and “The View” was Fabulous!
Other than the fact that it 20 minutes to get served while white diners was served before us(the only black couple in the restaurant and we had a reservation) the food was great and the scenery was nice.
The parking lot was flooded. I do not know if this is a recurring problem, but it was a problem on our visit.
Would have given five stars, but the server, was awful.
Placed on my "yes do" return list...
Our service was horrible. Our waitress left our salads sitting in our sight for atleast 15 minutes before serving. When we were served our main entrees they were salty and poor quality. Our spinach dip tasted like broccoli soup. Our waitress kept disapearing. Our moscoe mule was served in a wine glass. The sad part was this was Our Mom's birthday celebration. Very disapointing!!!
Food was great, great atomphere the waitress & waiter's need more hospitality training. The young man bringing out the food often did not know which table to go to.
Always fun to have dinner by the water! There are few choices in our area and this is our favorite spot. Good drinks and reasonably priced good food.
Such A Beautiful View .... Food and Drinks Were Perfect! This Was My First Time There... I’ll Definitely be back
We had a great experience! Very much enjoyed our dinner and the setting. Some entrees a bit pricey...ex. Chicken Parmesan, $29!
I always enjoy dining at The Waterfront. The service, food and atmosphere is awesome!
Some entrees are overpriced for what you get. The mahi-mahi is a total disappointment. One filet that was small and over done and dry. Chicken marsala , and chicken borsain are both good value.
Service was poor. Food served at different times. The special honoree had to wait until we were halfway through with our meals to get his. The waiter couldn’t figure out how to split the bill properly. The manager needed another 15 minutes to figure it out. Terrible experience. Won’t be back
Perch was very over breaded and overly deep fat fried. Not edible. Fries and clam chowder overly salted. There was a folk singer which made conversation difficult
The food and service was not very good on Father's Day, which I generally expect when eating out on a big holiday. The server was pleasant but not very attentive as I think she had too many tables assigned to her.
