Fantastic as always

The view was great, and the food and the service good. The caesar salad and the clam chowder soup were excellent. Good selection of wines by the glass. The only negative: I thought the $27 price for fish and chips was high - even though halibut is not an inexpensive fish, three forefinger-sized pieces of battered halibut seemed a little light for the price. Despite that, it was a very enjoyable lunch.

Great food, excellent service. Just know you are going to pay for it.

Very good food but a bit too expensive. You pay more for the location so it is better to at least enjoy the views, so better go during the day

I came to the waterfront for an early dinner with my daughter for her birthday. The service, atmosphere, and quality of the meal were all top notch. I highly recommend.

Nice restaurant, nice view, good service, delicious food!

I have lived in SF & am used to the high cost of dining out. That being said- I paid $26 for a VERY mediocre crab cake appetizer that was more like 2 mediocre crab cake bites. Not to mention the $26 kettle one and tonic. The waterfront is a decent restaurant that we have been to many times in the past- but this trip was a big disappointment

At the Waterfront, unfortunately the only good thing was the Panna Water. :(

We had a girl’s lunch outside on Easter Day, the weather cooperated, and it was delightful! The waiters were absolutely charming, and the food was fresh and delicious. There were tables with dates, and with families around us, and the beautiful view of the bay, and the sun, was just lovely. The umbrellas keep the guests from cooking under the sun, and I think they are a great addition to the restaurant! It was idyllic, and we all felt so lucky to be there!

Great San Francisco waterfront views. Excellent service all around. Would definatey go back there for a special occasion

I enjoyed a "solo" date night with myself at this restaurant after a long week of work-related travel. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, and the wine was quite nice. It is a little pricey (my bill for two glasses of wine, crab cakes, two oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, and a molten lava cake was about $85, and I left a 20% tip, which brought it to $103), but for a once-in-awhile splurge, it was worth it.

This location was just perfect for mine and my husband's first year wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding!

The view, the food and the service were all outstanding! Highly recommend.

We went for a 70th birthday celebration but wound up spending over two hours mostly waiting for service

Nice spot but crazy slow. Had a 7:45 res but we weren’t seated until 8:15. Then we had to wait forever for our entree. Perhaps they were just having a bad night. We have been there before and liked it.

The weather was beautiful so the view was amazing. We had requested and received a table next to the window for the view of Treasure Island and the Bay Bridge. The food and service was outstanding and it was a great way for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

My friend an I ate at the waterfront for the first time and we both ordered the seafood linguini and absolutely loved it. The bread was also a nice addition to the meal. Portion size was perfect. I highly recommend the clam chowder it has a sweet taste to it to go along with the fresh clams! This is a must try when visiting!

A must GO!! Spectacular view, great drinks, and the food is awesome! Will always return each time in San Francisco.

Overall Experience: Enjoyed the meal and the food. Felt that the portion sizes were very small for the price that I paid. Plus the complimentary bread on the table seemed to be rationed out per slice by the waiter. I found this quite unusual and dissatisfying since I had to wait for another slice instead of the bread loaf being on the table.

Service: The waiter was very friendly and courteous. He was attentive to ensuring that we enjoyed the meal. Although the food took quite long to be delivered to our table, we did enjoy the lovely view of the bay.

Food: I ordered Scallops with a side salad. The scallops were very good, although they could have seared it for a few more minutes. They were also very small in size to what I am use to getting. The salad was very large and was enjoyable. The wife ordered the seafood risotto. She was less than satisfied with the taste and the warmth of the food. She ended up eating only a small portion of it.

Wonderful meal at the The Waterfront. We had booked a table for 8 for a birthday party -but ended up with 6 people at the last minute. Servers were very accommodating and attentive, excellent seafood, nice birthday dessert for our friend -not to mention the beautiful view of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. Can't wait to go back!

Average and processed. Food was ok. Told them it was my wife’s birthday. Didn’t do anything. Booked weeks out and asked for nice table. Didn’t get one.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner, Calamari appetizer, Caesar salad, Clam chowder, Seafood Grill and Sea Bass, and done very nicely. Perfect Manhattan to start.
The service was excellent without being overbearing.

I was a San franciso resident for 33 years - moved 10 years ago. I brought my son this last week to The Waterfront Restaurant - his first time in San Francisco - we met a dear friend for dinner.

The bar tender was Over Worked - why don’t you have at least a back up for support? We waited for 15 minutes after ordering to receive a second cocktail. The waiter and waitress were overworked and were tag- teaming our table; very unsuccessfully.

The manager was LESS THAN FRIENDLY; to the clientele as well as to the staff. His scowl was off-putting.

Waterfront - you seem to resting on past laurels. It is time for a change!!!!!

Our bill was approximately $250 for a very mediocre dinner.

HOW VERY DISAPPOINTING. It used to be a place I enjoyed and would often take out of town guests.

The best impression of the entire evening was the hostess. It was obvious she as well as the other staff were stressed by the manager.

He has personality - again however could not keep up with the drink orders.

A very sad dining experience.

We’ve been here many times over the past 3-4 years. Noticeable disconnect between serving staff and front of house was rather terse. While our waiter was very good, the host, bussers and other servers didn’t seem to function as a team as in the past. The hostess sat us at a dirty table without noticing it. Then we had to sweep the crumbs off and request a clean dish. The bread servers were randomly serving bread but kept skipping us for some unknown reason. The saving factors are the view and consistently good food. Our waiter was great but he essentially got no support from the others despite obvious (at least to us) queues. Probably won’t frequent as often due to other better options.

I'd been there back in the 90s, and it seemed so-so. The most memorable part was, and still is, the lovely view. On this latest visit, it was so good I can't wait to go back. The service was excellent, beginning with the valet, on thru the hostess and waitstaff. We sat out on the covered deck--the ambience isn't as nice as inside, but it's the best place for maximum view. Had 3 yummy appetizers: lobster risotto, light, crispy fried calamari, and a variety of oysters. Main courses weren't as yummy. The Cobb salad wasn't as plentiful as a traditional Cobb, but it had a handful of crab and 3 beautiful jumbo shrimp. The downside is there was no dressing or sauce for them, only on the lettuce. The fish & chips were disappointing: The halibut was a bit dry and the batter coating was soft. Tasty fries, though (skin on and crispy). Overall, better than most SF waterfront restaurants. Good-sized lunch menu. Nice and relaxing. Valet parking. I'll be back.

The food was great. Views were awesome. We first got seated in a dinky corner because apparently there was a private party in the patio, but maitre d was nice to grant our request to be seated upstairs with the awesome views.

Took 15 minutes after being seated to even be acknowledged. Drinks were decent. Food was just okay and surf and turf was $90. With tip, total bill was $300. Totally not worth it. Not surprising it was so easy to get a reservation.

Average quality food at very expensive prices. For the money, I expect something more special.

Really good fried calamari. Sea Bass dish was very yummy. Fish quality was very good. Staff was great. No complaints.

Have been coming to The Waterfront for years and am never disappointed. Great menu selection.

The view is beautiful and the service is fine, but the food remains mediocre. It’s too bad because this location demands better.

There is an upstairs dining area that offers a panoramic view of the Bay Bridge, and Yerba Buena Island/Treasure Island. Though I didn't see it, I would imagine the downstairs area also has great views since the Waterfront is located right on the water.

Hint: I would suggest asking the wait staff about the quality/size of the oysters on the half-shell before ordering. That appetizer was the only disappointing part of our dinner. It was a beautiful evening!
