There will be a strong range of quirky and every day (!) wines befitting of a neighbourhood restaurant, which makes for a special occasion, or a casual dining experience. Given the locale and the fact that we hope to welcome families, there are exciting, healthy and accessible foods for kids (plus some little quirks to keep them interested, engaged and most importantly, occupied!), a host of diner classics, and a particularly extensive steak selection. We are working with some of our favourite craft butchers to create our own aging room and source some amazing salt-aged meats.
Love this place . The food is always delicious and fresh. We love coming for brunch on a Sunday. Would recommend it 100%!!!
Had a lovely meal with family visiting from abroad. The quality and choice of the food was excellent. There was a lovely atmosphere. The service was extremely friendly and accommodating. I don't think there were enough waiters though. They were run off their feet.
We had a lovely meal but the pepper sauce was too watery. The service was exceptional and all four of us had a lovely evening.
The seafood chowder was very thick and tasted very much like a tin of Campbells condensed soup which was very off putting and meant it didn't taste fresh. I'm not sure whether it was thickened with too much cornflour but it was not very nice. There were lots of big pieces of big fish but this was the only redeeming feature I'm afraid.
My husband had the eggs florentine and the bread on which the poached eggs were placed were wet. It seemed like the eggs were transferred straight onto the dish without being drained on paper first. It meant the whole dish, including the salad and bacon was water logged which was really unpleasant.
I am a vegetarian and there was only one choice for starters and mains on the menu for vegetarians which is fine if the main course was good but unfortunately the stuffed crepes wee not to my liking as there was too much cheese which was too gloopy and the sauce too sweet. The starter - courgette fritters - was tasty though
Food menu has changed. No plain mash for people who can't eat onions..Sweet corn soup that you could eat with a fork and wasn't a nice taste, not much taught put into that.
Steak that the chef couldn't cook to the right request...and the side pepper sauce that needed pepper added to it from the table shaker to make it taste like pepper sauce.
The price was astronomical for food that would be better served in Eddie rockets.
I would not come back here again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know
Regularly visit The Washerwoman and it's always great the staff are so nice and will always try and accommodate. The food i's always beautiful. Would highly recommemed!
The food was great as well as the service. Really good ambiance; had an enjoyable dinner and then we went back for brunch which was great! Steak, eggs Benedict and waffles all great tasting. Good quality food!
Wonderful start to Christmas, great choice on the set menu, lovely staff
Excellent meal with lovely friendly service .
Friendly staff and lovely food!
Absolutely fabulous .gorgeous food lovely staff and reasonably priced .ham hock croquettes to start them I had burger with fries and for desert Christmas pudding my husband main was turkey .
Always pleased with the food , however I wasn’t pleased with the service this time , I felt like every time I asked a question to the waitresses I was an inconvenience, it was a quiet Monday evening so not sure what the issue was this time however still loved the food :)
I hadn't been to the Washerwoman's for some time and have enjoyed two meals in 4 days, something of a treat for me. Friday evening I was part of a large group sitting upstairs for dinner and on Monday I had lunch with 4 colleagues downstairs. On both occasions the food was very good and the service efficient and friendly. The menus for Lunch and Dinner were very similar with a lovely selection.
Quality as always!! Fantastic to have such a quality restaurant in the locality. Oh and have the wings.....
This place is cosy, small and sleek. Good service provided by kitchen staff. The sweet potato fries is delicious and yummy. Burger is tasty and eggs Florentine is tasty too.
Pricey but delicious. Parking difficult in the area - close to botanical gardens for a nice stroll after food
Menu wasn't to my taste this time around. Have eaten here a few times and usually can't decide what I want because I want everything but this time I settled for the burger because I didn't fancy anything else. Just found the menu a bit strange. But everything else was lovely and I'll be back again.
Second time here, no regrets.
Had the venison and loved it. My friends both had the turkey and stuffing and they ate it all.
Service was great, constantly refilling the water and the food came out fast. That said, we never felt rushed and the staff were not constantly checking in on us which was great!
Gorgeous meal. Really friendly and unobtrusive staff. Food and wine really good quality. Lovely evening
Great for date night. Great food, quaint and romantic setting.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Enjoyed a super meal with a friend here.
Cocktails are good (I had a Cosmopolitan). Food delicious. Nice cosy atmosphere. Excellent service.
Fab meal with my husband. Great food and wine. Service good too. Highly recommend
Loved The Washerwoman. Service was very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent.
Nice staff very attentive. Food sounded better than it was. Great to have s place in Glasnevin
Very enjoyable. Good food and enjoyable atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I was expecting more... the place in nice and cosy but the food was basic, nothing outstanding, yet quiet pricey for what it was. Staff was nice and helpful, but the menu is limited and nothing I saw justifies the pricey food
Love this restaurant and we are regular visitors. Great children’s menu, would just love the edition of a pasta dish on the kids menu. However saying that our youngest son adored the cornflake chicken.
Nachos are amazing. Soup was so good as was the breaded cheese. And our eldest son loved the striploin steak.
Best brunch bar none! Veggie breakfast is done so well and generous portions make it great value, gorgeous homemade brown bread. Lovely coat atmosphere and great service.
Presentation of my waffles was pretty bad. Hard to believe they let it out of the kitchen. No style or finesse to it. Just a load of bacon dumped on top - for €14 I expect more.
Pretty amazing place. Small and quaint, but casual and comfortable. Fine dining without the pretentiousness. Service was efficient, but could be more personable.
First of all, the interior design and all the decorations from menu to wooden door toilet are perfect. The blue and the wood together is calm and enjoyable.
Food is good but not amazing. Nothing very special. The chicken main course lacks a bit of flavour in it. Side salad is my favorite part.
Waiter doesn't smile a lot during serving, but we did have a good talk when we pay.
Price is a bit high compared to the quality.
Will go back to try the fish main course. Hope it won't let me down.
Really enjoyed the Washerwomen's , food was great. Was a lively spot, good service.
Only gripe was the cost of a beer and wine.
Best Irish restaurant so far! Definitely coming back! High quality tasy food and many options.
We went for a birthday dinner. The food was delicious and service was great! Such a lovely local restaurant. Will definitely go back.
I’ll start with the positives, Bellini, Albariño, Tomato Salad, Striploin, Coffee & Sticky toffee pudding all good. We weren’t told what was NOT available until we’d ordered it which was a little annoying. My starter of ‘hand dived Irish scallops with black pudding & rhubarb’ was very underwhelming - not least because I got just ONE tiny scallop with 2 slices of black pudding. This is €12! Complained & was quickly brought a 2nd tiny scallop. Husband had Cornflake Chicken, aside from the novelty of coloured cauliflower, he felt it it was an average weekday dinner. My main was Striploin, very tasty & tender. Veg was sitting in a pool of water which wasn’t pleasant, chips were ok. Unfortunately I poured my pepper sauce before tasting it & it was so salty it was inedible. Had to complain again & was offered an alternative which was fine once I’d scraped what I could off the meat. Staff offered our coffees & dessert (we only wanted 1 to share) on the house, which I appreciated. But this was an anniversary dinner & a very rare opportunity to get out so I was very disappointed.
We really enjoyed our meal, the service was great, food was delicious, setting was nice. However, there was a shortage of gluten free options. They do have gluten free bread, but it is such a pity that more dishes aren't thickened with cornflour!
Very nice restaurant, great Early bird deal. We will be back!
Nice place, we had to wait a little for our meal but it was worth it.
