This was my second visit to give it a second try and the food was bland again, the shrimp bacon jalapeño appetizer sat under a heat lamp all day and was served hard. My husband‘s Porkchop was OK. I was raised under a chef and I don’t understand the hype at this restaurant, but it will be my last visit. My server was excellent. He had nothing to do with the kitchen. The New Orleans style Southern cooking is bad. Someone needs to teach the cooking crew what southern food is supposed to taste like and what the appropriate temperatures should be for the dishes served. I feel bad that I have to write this review, but good cuts of meat and seafood should not be wasted on unseasoned cooks.
We were rushed through our meal. We received our meals before we finished our salads. We were warned during our meals that the kitchen would be closing and we had to order dessert right away if we wanted any.
We had a reservation so we should not have been hurried. Staff stood watching as we ate, waiting to clear tables. It was very uncomfortable, even though everyone seemed nice. Either be open or be closed. Don't rush people. Food was okay, nothing great.
This place is very nice. The food was delicious and it was worth every penny.
Intimate, romantic and quality of both food and service!
The fish was excellent. Very fresh and well cooked. Busy night on Valentine's Day, but they handled it so well.
It was on the higher end with the price, but taking the location and it being known as a higher end restaurant it wasn't extremely expensive. The food and service were excellent. I highly recommend.
This place is one of our favorite restaurants in Old Town. The food, staff and atmosphere are stellar. Do yourself a favor and ask for one of Alberto's tables. He makes your experience even better. I took my wife there this past Valentines day and they made our evening once again.
Low key, delicious, with impeccable service. Quiet enough you can actually have intelligent conversation. Love the Warehouse.
The beignets were the highlight of the meal. The servers were snobby. Unclear if they were trained to act this way, but aside from that, the food was fantastic.
Wow!!! Great food!!! I’ll be back for sure.
I always enjoy the dining experience at The Warehouse. My husband I did notice a few changes. The size of bowls and cups changed dramatically, much smaller than before. The food items we ordered in the past have also changed a bit both in appearance and flavor. I am always of the belief, if it ain't broke don't fix it. This will always be our go-to restaurant I just hope they don't make any more changes.
The food and staff were great.
Everything was great except the filet. Asked for medium rare. First attempt it was cooked beyond well done. Sent it back. Second was rare. Like it went from the cooler to the plate rare. My girlfriend had finished her meal by now so I just got the steak to go and cooked it to medium rare at home. My girlfriend got seafood which was outstanding. We will go back. But only for seafood.
SUCH a great night celebrating my mom's 75th birthday! Eight of us total - service was great with the exception of water refills somewhat lacking. All staff wonderful and friendly. Food outstanding. Atmosphere super fun. Highly recommend for any occasion!
She crab soup is spectacular. White cloth tables for a nice dining experience. Fabulous, attentive service. Definitely recommend!
I really enjoyed my date night at The Warehouse, service and food was exceptional. I definitely look forward to going back, perhaps for brunch.
Mikael was amazing! She suggested a very good entree and I enjoyed every bit of it! Will return soon!
This is a popular go-to place for us. Food always delicious. Wonderful lobster Cobb salad. Crab cakes with No filler. Fantastic wait staff. We just love The Warehouse. Great neighborhood place.
One of the things I love about restaurant week is being able to get a good meal at a good price at a restaurant that I have never visited before. And this was a really good choice. I loved the location, the food, the service, and the price. Highly recommended.
Place was nice but it seemed to be over booked and they had to create a table for us and squeeze us in.. We were too close to the next table, and with a table of 2 next a table of 7 they over powered us not purposely... The food was pretty good though...
Best crabcakes in Alexandria. Nice ambiance.
We were seated 1 hour late from our original reservation time
We have been going to The Warehouse with friends for a number of years. It is one of our favorites. It continues to be excellent in every respect. Fine food with fine service.
Food is always pretty good. Service is always spot on. My filet mignon was slightly overcooked, and the asparagus Spears had seen better days.
Two of us went for restaurant week and the food was very good, as was the service. We requested to sit upstairs upon arrival and had a small-ish table by the staircase. We could hear some of the noise from downstairs and knew it had to be crowded down there!! Very happy with the menu, food, service, and table location. I would not hesitate to return.
My roommate and I went for restaurant week. We were seated very quickly (even a few minutes early of a reservation), our waiter was fantastic and the service was great. Our food was so delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Wonderful service. Dinner was beautifully plated and great flavor.
The food and service were excellent. Hector did a wonderful job. We were there for restaurant week and the menu was delicious. The portions were large, and the wine list reasonable.
Sweet meal for restaurant week. Plenty of options and the food was delicious and there’s something for everyone. It was romantic and right in the middle of king street. Perfect spot for a date night.
The oysters were fabulous. The NY Strip Steak was medium as requested, just wished it was seared better and served sizzling hot. Everything else was just good. Enjoyed the ambiance .
My wife, infant and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and top notch. We will definitely return.
I went there expecting to get their French toast but at 11:15 am was presented only with lunch items. That was the only reason I selected this place. Our waiter was horrible. Served us cold bread and when we asked for it to be warmed or toasted he rolled his eyes. Never asked me if I wanted a coffee refill. I had to ask for it myself. We had been to this place before and it was great. Something happened since then. Too many restaurants in Old Town to go back there.
My wife and I really enjoyed the food. The service was great. I only wish that the tables were not so close together. The couple next to us talked loudly and detracted from our conversation.
Came for restaurant week. Got the she crab soup, surf and turf; and my husband had the beignets and cat fish. The portions were sizable but the food was very "blah." The servers came around to refill water but never really asked about our food or experience.
Not at all fine dining. If you want reasonable prices/ serving sizes, then this is the place to be. If you want a fine restaurant in old town, there's many other options on King St.
Forgot we had been here 2 years ago when we made the reservations. I think they've upgraded the decore in the past 2 years but I've never been impressed by the food.
Restaurant week three courses for $35 was excellent value. It’s a bit pricey otherwise. High quality food and service.
The restaurant week menu was great, and the kitchen created a special meal for one of us.
Great dining experience at the Warehouse. It was our first visit and will absolutely return on our next trip to Alexandria. An extensive selection of Seafood with a Cajun flair. Just happened to arrive during restaurant week and their special menu offered many of the restaurant's featured dishes at a great value.
100% honest review: The food is amazing! But the service was fast and uncaring! They were extremely busy due to restaurant week, but no matter how busy a restaurant is the service still should be up to par. But from the regulars I have spoken to the service is always quick and uncaring. My wife and I really enjoy fine dining experiences; especially when the server tells you about the restaurant and the food specials that they are preparing that evening. The warehouse just says, “what would you like?” and “thanks”
That’s when I get at a fast food drive-thru!
I enjoyed dining at this location over a decade ago, definitely a different menu, ambiance; yet equally enjoyable in other ways. That said said, the kitchen/chef seemingly used quality products to produce a delicious plates for our party of 4. Who are equally critical, this is a good thing for this review. As for the rest, it is moderately priced and worth the trip!
