Had Father's Day Brunch here, they were very accommodating when we showed up earlier than our reservation. The waitstaff does it just right, not hovering, and yet always taken care of when needed. Had a small order mix-up on one of our party's order, but the waiter hustled it back to kitchen and had it fixed immediately. The crab cakes were divine, chopped salad with lobster was delicious. Our low-carb diner had everything he needed. Great place in Old Town for a leisurely Sunday brunch.
One of the best in Old Town. Great food and very friendly service! The Lobster Cobb Salad in to die for!
Located in beautiful and quaint Olde Town Alexandria, the setting was perfect for a great restaurant with great food. I had the salmon with lobster and it was perfectly cooked, with a garden salad on the side. My white sangria was made to perfection as well. My friends had filet mignon and porterhouse steak, both cooked to perfection. No complaints at all. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. I only wish there were a larger area for dining Al fresco as it was a perfect evening for that. I'll be back!
I'm disappointed! I thought this would be a special dining experience. Went for Sunday brunch. The eggs were not made with fresh eggs, the veggies with the eggs Benedict appeared to be frozen. The lobster Cobb salad was just ok.
We asked for and were given a very quiet table upstaiirs with a great view of Old Town's historic lower King Street. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and reminded of our request for a quiet table. On a rainy weeknight the restaurant was not particularly busy.
The restaurant accommodated our request for the "quiet table for four" by seating us in the upstairs dining room that was unoccupied during most of our dinner. Only one other couple came upstairs during dinner. Even when fully occupied, the upstairs dining room tends to be fairly quiet
Our waiter was very attentive without overly-hovering. As ever, the chef's specials and standard entrees delighted us! Our seafood and veal dishes were served very hot and perfectly prepared. although we did not have room for dessert, we could not have enjoyed the meal more.
The Warehouse Bar and Grille has never served us anything but wonderful meals since 1985. Here's to 40 more years of wonderful dining experiences!
Food is very good. Small restaurant but good food.
We enjoy the brunch menu at Warehouse Bar & Grill because it has a good mix of breakfast and lunch options and prices are reasonable. I recommend starting with a Bellini and we really enjoy the lobster Cobb salad. Yum! Service is always excellent!
Second time visiting for seafood. Service is professional and friendly.
Tables are small and placed rather too close together. If the next table is very talkative, it could ruin your evening because you cannot have a quiet conversation with your companion. My favorite is the seafood parchment dish.
For the second visit, I found the bread in basket to be cold and dry.
Decided to skip dessert for the second visit because 4 to a table was feeling too crowded toward the end of the dinner and the next table was also getting louder.
I think it's a good local find but this restaurant could definitely use a face lift and bigger tables.
The service was wonderful. Starting with the host and all of the servers. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and specials. Excellent selection of wines. There were 3 of us and we each ordered something different and they were all very good. The She Crab soup is to die for. We were never rushed. I would go here again.
The wait staff was on point and the atmosphere was what I expected. The issue came with the food, mostly the steaks. The steaks seemed pre-prepared. Although I know they should rest for a moment, they should still come out hot and fresh. The two steaks in question looked as if they'd been sitting out for some time and one was over cooked. When the waiter proceeded to have it redone he was back in less than 5 minutes. For a steak that had been freshly cooked? Although prepared correctly it still had the look of one that was sitting for a while. The catfish, crab cakes and pork chops were fantastic though.
Based on friends' recommendations, I chose Warehouse Bar & Grille for Mother's Day Brunch. We were not disappointed! The space itself is a bit narrow, so diners waiting for tables and servers have to dance around each other in the front room. That area can also be a bit noisy. We were seated quickly, however, and our server was attentive. While the ambiance is nice, the food is the big draw at Warehouse. Everything we ordered was wonderful. The portions were plentiful and the seafood was incredibly fresh. I had the Cobb salad with lobster and avacado - delicious. Many of the dishes feature a creole mustard sauce that adds a great kick of flavor without being overpowering. I would also highly recommend the chocolate decadence for dessert!
They were really on the ball doing Mother's Day brunch, had a reservation, we were quickly seated at the right time, waiter was quickly there, smiling, happy, gave us time to order and never rushed. The place was very busy but you won't know it with the good service, quick served hot food and time to enjoy and hang out. Always my favorite restaurant in Old Town
The food was excellent but the service could have been a lot better.
Our server was rushing to get our orders and answer questions. As a result, he forgot items and we had to ask for items several times. I found it interesting that he didn't act this way with other guests at tables around us. For this to be our first visit and the place we honored our mother on Mother's Day, I was displeased by how we were treated. I'm not sure if I would like to dine at this establishment again, even if the food was great.
You should train your staff to treat ALL guests the same and not just the guest rhat have a lighter hue than ours.
Great food, but spacing eg is quite cramped. Noise can be a problem during quite busy times, but the service was superb.
She crab soup was excellent and the lobster-Cobb salad is always a treat and ample. Service was exceptional ~ especially since we sat outside.
This is one of my favorites as I an never disappointed in the food or the service. The staff is attentive from when you open the door until you depart. I give this restaurant a triple F- Fabulous, Fresh and Favorable .
Nothing extraordinary...just solid service and time-tested preparations. Knowing there are plenty of average dining establishments on King Street, it's always nice to find a place where the food is well-prepared. We arrived early and beat the Saturday night crowd (6 pm), were seated upstairs next to the window, and were well-looked after by our waiter. We will definitely return.
I made reservations through Opentable.com for my boyfriend's birthday and included that information in the special comments section online. When we arrived at the restaurant our table was ready for us and we were ushered upstairs to the second level. The waiter was very pleasant and helped us with our win selection.
We started out with the shrimp and crab beingets as our appetizer. They were AMAZING!! They came in a plate of 3 but truth be told I wouldn't mind making them a meal if they added a few more to the plate :). My date had the crab cakes and loved them. I had the crawfish Étouffée which was delicious but a little spicy. I'd recommend both meals to any seafood lover.
Upon finishing our meal our server, Edgardo, asked if we wanted a dessert menu. I said yes thinking they did not get my statement online that it was a birthday dinner but I was wrong. Our waiter brought over a plate with 2 nice size slices of their bread pudding with a candle. I was as shocked as my date was when he put the plate on our table. It was a very nice gesture and although both of us don't really like bread pudding we enjoyed every bite. It was beyond amazing (but may have had nuts for those that are allergic... I'd verify before eating).
In all it was an amazing dinner experience and I can't wait to go back to try the pasta jambalaya. My server Edgardo A was very attentive and I would like to thank him for providing the birthday bread pudding for my date. He was very shocked. Thank you for helping me make him feel special on his special day.
Staff was very friendly. Was there for engagement celebration with five other girls. The food was excellent. Brunch is so amazing. Seriously, you have to go here for brunch is you like champagne.
Food was very good. My only complaints are that the server stood in the corner and stared at us while we are and it was very cold, my date was constantly distractedly commenting on both. Overall decent experience.
I made reservations at Warehouse Bar & Grill for 7:45 pm on a Saturday night. We were staying in Alexandria but were in DC during the day and thanks to metro we were late for our reservations. We did not arrive until 8:15 and I felt so bad. We told the hostess that we had reservations and acknowledged that we were late. He could not seat us at the time, which we understood but he did seat us at the next available 2 top. We ended up sitting by the front window which was great people watching. The food was amazing - you have to get the She Crab Soup! Next time I'm in Alexandria I plan on going back.
Restaurant was busy on arrival so, despite having a reservation, we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Equally frustrating was the fact that the Maitre D paid no attention to the order of arrival so a large group that arrived after my party was seated before us. However, once seated, the service was very good and the food was delicious.
Great experience and great atmosphere. We would highly recommend it. Don't let the name fool you.
I've never had a bad experience at the Warehouse. The meals are always tasty and the service is great. I love the she-crab soup
Overall, the dining experience was positive, but there were some elements of the dinner that could be improved. I had made a reservation and was promptly seated, at what appeared to be the only empty table in the restaurant. Food was tasty, but one guest at our table was served a salad with brown lettuce. The server did make sure that the guest was not charged for the salad. Service was polite, but at times, painfully slow , and missing that element of attentiveness that is to be expected for this type of restaurant. Our server appeared to have too many tables assigned to his care .Entrees for the myself and guests at my table were well prepared and to the exact specifications that were ordered. Nevertheless, some of the finishing touches , such as the fried potatoes (?) on top of my filet mignon , were unnecessary and detracted from the taste of the overall dish.
excellent service was followed-up with tasty and flavorful food. The seafood was bursting with flavor.
The food at this place is amazing. I had the salmon special with lobster on top and others had the craw-fish etoufee. I'd recommend both. The oysters on the menu are a must for appetizers. The wine list is alright, but cocktails were very well made.
The only complaint is we were seated in the back room near the door to the kitchen. The lighting was too dark and we felt very crammed in our table. The tables near the front and upstairs were much nicer. If you go, insist on sitting near the windows.
I made pre theater dinner reservations and could not have picked a better place
The service was prompt, but not rushed and the food was great.
We had the oyster beignets for an appetizer and I will definitely choose them
again. We finished our meal by splitting the hazelnut chocolate
creme brûlée. It was perfect.
This place was great to catch up with friends we had not see in several years. The service was perfect; we got everything we could ask for but not so much attention that we couldn't talk. The food was absolutely perfect. Recommend the Veal Porterhouse!
Food was fantastic, as always, and the service was just perfect, also as always. We love the fact that it is a quiet place where conversation can be easily heard. The fried catfish was a super big hit. It is so lightly fried that it literally melts in your mouth. The seafood in parchment is absolutely mouth watering. We have been coming to the restaurant for almost 20 years and just love it!
We shared our orders of seafood and it was hard to decide which was more delicious. Service was excellent. We had a good table by the window and really enjoyed the dining experience. Prices were normal for a Saturday night out.
We went to Wharehouse for brunch on Saturday, and for some reason this place was empty. We had the dining room to ourselves which was great, because we were super loud catching up with our friends! The food was excellent and the service was excellent! The portions were large and the prices were right! Will definitely recommend this place to more people. It was great to get out of DC for brunch to not deal with loud crowds and lines!
The she crab soup is divine. We each ordered steak. The preparation was good and the steaks were cooked exactly to or liking. The waiter was really excellent. The vegetables that were served with the steak entres were very, very good.
We actually had a coupon for one meal with the purchase of a meal. While that brought us in, it would have been worth it even without the coupon. We'll be back. I had a filet mignon and it was perfect. My wife had the pork chops, which had a special flavor that made them outstanding. There was also a nice wine selection. I had a Cabernet with my steak. Our waiter was suitably attentive. We truly had a great dining experience.
The pork chops were superb. I love the creole alligator soup. Very quaint restaurant. Excellent customer service by the waiters.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. I used open table to make the reservation and noted that it was an anniversary celebration. When we arrived the table was ready, the staff was attentive and they gave us an anniversary dessert which read "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate. It really made our evening. This is the 3rd time in 3 years we have been to The Warehouse and each time it is enjoyable.
When I made the reservation I requested a nice table for two for my husband's birthday. They gave us a wonderful table upstairs by the window! So the view was fabulous looking down on Old Town. Our waiter was extremely accommodating and we never needed to ask for a thing! Then to top that the food was fabulous! Thank you for making our evening memorable!
The restaurant is is downtown Alexandria and parking is difficult - the only negative. The selection of food was very good. The food was well prepared although the selection of vegetables seemed limited. This is not haute cuisine but better than average food with excellent service and a good selection of wine and beer. I would eat here again
We chose the warehouse for the menu online. When we arrived it was much smaller and intimate than my imagination of a warehouse. We were treated to a window seat. It had a great atmosphere. The menu was excellent and the specials were amazing! We just loved the place - surf and turf and the special Salmon dish was awesome. We can't wait to go back.
Amazing food and amazing services. I would highly recommend and can't wait to go bacl.
