The Warehouse Ratings and Reviews
Fabulous experience! Started off with a fantastic appetizer - fried calamari, crawfish, shrimp, and zucchini. Everything was so good and the dipping sauce was amazing! Ordered the crab cake sandwich and sautéd shrimp - everything was fabulous! The service was amazing - not too overbearing. Definitely make a reservation, though, tables fill up fast!
A group of six went to The Warehouse to celebrate a birthday. Great food (best pecan pie I’ve ever had and I grew up with 20 pecan trees in my yard so know pecan pie!). We were looking for someplace relatively quiet, and although this wasn’t extremely quiet (on a Friday night) our elderly guest heard most of the conversation. Excellent service, pretty restaurant, and all the food was very good and beautifully presented.
After a long wait while the host ran past me several times and ignored me, we got off to a rocky start as he said he did not find my reservations which I had made two weeks in advance through OPENTABLE. I had a copy of the reservation and pulled it up for him on my phone. REALLY? I had to do that? Honestly, he acted like I was an interloper. He finally seated us at an upstairs table where we had great views of the caricatures on the walls and lining the stairs. We ordered brunch and it was good. The service was adequate, but we got the sense that since none of us were drinking, they were none too happy to wait on us. One of my colleagues was served strawberries in a dirty dish that had been a butter dish earlier from the looks of it. Yes, they promptly replaced her strawberries, but I was reeling from how they could walk out with food that had been put in a dirty dish? Between the bad attitude of the host who FINALLY seated us at a glacial pace and the dirty dish and the cranky wait staff, I give this place TWO STARS. Will I go back? Not in this lifetime!
The place was very crowded so we expected the food to be great. The appetizers were great. I had the seafood gumbo and my friend had the she crab soup. The jambalaya was okay, but not very flavorful. The crab and crawfish imperial needed pepper to give it any flavor at all. The staff was nice, but the entrees really were mediocre. Maybe we needed to order different entrees if we come back again.
My first time at the Warehouse was a very pleasant surprise. I liked pretty much everything about it. There were 5 of us & where we were seated felt like a small private dining room. Our waiter was very friendly, helpful & professional. I chose the place from a list o brunch places because of their seafood menu & particularly for the fried oysters. They did not disappoint!
First timer, husband a foodie. He can't stop talking about how great the food was for Saturday Bruch. The level of service and food excellence makes this establishment one of our new top five. We include other Old Town and DC establishments in that list. Make sure you go for Brunch, the menu is all-encompassing of delightful entrées. The mouth is introduced to freah berries and cream, or the warmth of champagne to begin. The brunch selection tantalizes the pallet with authentic rue and real hearty seafood in the New Orleans style, to-die-for selections. My husband almost cried over the duck, it was so good. I had the ettufe. The measure of great restaurants is how they treat the diners during the day. Tips are lower, dues to lower priced meals. The staff performed with marquee excellence and professionalism during the Brunch-special session. Thank you! We will be back, and often!
Read the mixed reviews so thought we'd give it a try...to our disappointment. Service was good, but the food was so-so. Definately not a restaurant to take kids to, which is surprising considering it's on King Street in a tourist town like Old Town. No kid menu or kid food (at all). Ordered a burger for the kids to share and they did cut it in half and put on 2 plates which was nice/thoughtful. Interior is interesting (people/faces on the wall), but the carpet/floor was dirty and overall looked old/worn out. Let them know in advance that we were celebrating my wife's b-day, but nothing happened. Bar area looked cool, but overall not impressed. Too bad. Some reviews were very positive. There are better places to go (especially if you have children). Go there instead.
We have been here several times, and the food is always amazing. This time was no different, and we had a pleasant evening with friends over a fantastic dinner. They introduced us to some new cocktails that were VERY well made. Overall, we can never complain. This is a great place for a nice evening out, especially a special occasion.
Adding The Warehouse to our list of Old Town favorites. We enjoyed delicious she crab soup, and the salmon and seafood sampler which were specials that night. Upscale but friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed meeting the owner who has good reason to be proud of his restaurant.
