The Warehouse Ratings and Reviews
A table for a late dinner on New Year's Eve proved to be a good call as although the place was busy the service was good and the food came out fast. Our dishes were good and in particular, a short rib starter that was some of the best ribs I have had in a long time. Will be going back again on a regular evening for sure.
Delicious Food for our New Years Eve dinner. We liked that it wasn't a limited menu for New Years Eve and even though the restaurant was very busy we never felt rushed. Thank you Warehouse for a memorable delicious meal in Old Alexandria. Everyone at our table loved their meal. I loved the photo I submitted because it captured the flag furling in the wind.
We normally have a great time and meal at The Warehouse. Yesterday was nothing short of disappointing. Coffee-cold. Appetizer-cold. Main entree-cold. Service HORRIBLE. Our appetizer was served AFTER our entree when we reminded the waiter. Just a complete fail yesterday.
My wife and I enjoyed dinner upstairs at "The Warehouse" in celebration of our eleventh anniversary. The service was outstanding. We were seated immediately upon arrival after having made reservations.
We had a bottle of wine, appetizers, and our entrees were delicious. We were pleasantly surprised to be served dessert "on the house".
If your looking for a classy place to have dinner, you've found it.
Although the food was very tasty, we were put out by how the waiter treated us. It seems more the style in which this restaurant thinks it’s clients need to be served than a personality issue. We felt like we were on a high speed assembly line, being rushed through every stage with hectic and loud movements. The restaurant was not filled to capacity and it was a week night, so no need to assume double sittings which I think is rude anyway for a restaurant of supposedly this caliber and reputation. I asked for room temp water as the outside temp was a frigid 18 degrees F and it was as if I asked for fresh goat’s milk! I was also the last one to be served, tell me please, what is so difficult about my request? Although he saw I had used my knife during the appetizer he was reluctant to bring me a clean one. Again, I expect this from a family diner... We do not see the need to come back again and think it has an overrated reputation!
The service was very good but the food was slow coming out. The waiter was very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is very nice. We had a table by the window and could see the people walking outside-----very picturesque. The problem with this restaurant is the food. It isn't bad but really it isn't good. I had pork chops----I almost never cook them because I have problems keeping the meat moist. The ones I had at this restaurant were not moist either----very dry and had very little flavor. I needed to add salt. The calamari was ok, crisp but nothing special. My daughter had the shrimp and she said it was overcooked. This is all ok I guess except that the bill was $650 for 9 people and 1 child which is fairly expensive. It just isn't worth the price. They really need to take more care with cooking the food.
This was our first visit to this fine restaurant. We had a large family group of 7 including children and they accommodated us in a nice part of their restaurant. Food selection was great, including a children’s menu and even Shirley Temple drinks for them. Food options were very wide, including steaks, fish, veal and pasta. Everyone loved their meals. Wine selection was also very wide and we chose a very reasonably priced selection which was also delicious. The owner of the restaurant is very friendly and actually played some math games with the older children. This personal touch was very appreciated. We are moving seasonally to Virginia and will definitely frequent this fine restaurant again and again.
We have dined at The Warehouse several times. Each time, we have found the food and service to be very enjoyable. Our latest visit was no exception. Between us, our group had a variety of entrees and appetizers. Everyone in our party left pleased with the overall experience. Very good service - attentive, but not intrusive.
There is a reason Trip Advisor rates The Warehouse #1 in Alexandria -- it was superb. Admittedly based only on one lunch, I was thrilled and will definitely return. The food (I had the grits with fried oysters and spinach), my companion the same, only with shrimp) was outstanding and the service was attentive but non-intrusive. I met an old friend there for lunch -- we spent over three hours -- and no one ever bothered us -- very European!
My husband and I love this restaurant! The food is consistently delicious especially the salmon. The service is excellent and friendly. We love to sit upstairs by a window so we can enjoy people watching on Kings Street below. The overall ambiance is relaxed, charming and welcoming. We love to bring visiting family and friends because we know they will have a great Old Town dining experience!
We went to The Warehouse for a friend's birthday dinner and the food was excellent. The crab cakes were delicious and one of the specials, a horseradish crusted salmon dish, was to die for. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you would like to enjoy some high quality seafood for a reasonable price.
