Our server was great. Both of us ordered steaks, and each was over-cooked. Server returned our steaks to kitchen and returned with correctly cooked steaks.
We were seated immediately. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious and worth every penny! Perfect place for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a special occasion. They acknowledged the Birthday we were celebrating with a slice of delicious bread pudding, topped with a candle. Can’t recommend enough!
I've patronized The Warehouse since 1973 and while it has changed a great deal over the decades it remains a great place to dine. The food is always well prepared and the service is great. It's great for lunch and dinner but I typically have dinner there. Love the place.
This place is nice to be in, great ambiance, a little noisy but not bad. Food was outstanding. We had a large party of nine and we all had pretty much seafood. Seafood was cooked perfectly. Service was very good and the bill was appropriate for the quality of the food. I would certainly come back.
I hope this is received as opportunity for improvement and hopefully management at the warehouse will step up. First the waiter was rude, I don’t believe on purpose, but due to a lack of training and/or a cultural bias with respect to treatment of woman. He all but ignored my wife. He then sped through to ordering after all but throwing down my wife’s drink which arrived well after my drink. Then I looked at him...like dude ...you just plopped down my wife’s wine such that the liquid in the glass rocked back and forth hitting the rim of the glass. I said we weren’t ready to order and looked at him with disappointment. He picked that visual cue but then push shut the menu shut that I had in my grasp and began to provide the special as he realized he had not gone through the effort to explore those options with us. Then it was the old silent treat...if you want order now, I make you wait, until you all but beg to order. The support staff kept our water glasses full but after 30 minutes we flagged down the waiter for bread which was received like we had ask him for his first born. Apparently, the Warehouse is facing a massive bread shortage, I digress into sarcasm. So he finally returned to take our order after about a 30 wait. Again not totally his fault as he has several small tables but was assigned a 10 top that demanded his attention from the paradigm of the potential tip and the logistics of a table that large. So we decided to split an entree and try some of the yummy appetizers and soup courses. So we ordered: The crab cakes and crab soup as our appetizers and the blackened scallops and shrimp Diane as our main entrees. The soup was awful, the emulsion was broken and had the consistency of a light oatmeal. The crab cakes were fried in oil too long and at a very high temp, almost burnt. The scallops were not properly cooked and under/burnt not blackened. The Shrimp Diane was good. Happy Anniversary? The meal was forgettable but not the over$100 cost.
The Warehouse is my special occasion first choice. Quality food and service ranks top on my list. A meal for two will range from 90.00 to over 100.00 including appetizers. However it is worth every dollar.
Birthday and Wedding Anniversary
We went for an anniversary and our first time there. My spouse was very impressed. The menu selection was diverse; daily specials made it tough to select off the regular menu. Wine selection varied in price and wine type. Classy place with good food.
Great experience as the food and ambience was very good especially the Sunday night special of southern fried chicken. Wait staff was very knowledgeable but struggled a bit to keep up with patrons.
Waiter was top notch
We loved the restaurant and food! We were able to sit outside on a beautiful fall evening so it was quiet and also fun to people-watch. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, as well. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our 30th anniversary!
As always, excellent food and service. The special half lobster and parchment baked shrimp and scallops exceptional.
The best restaurant in Old Town Alexandria. Service is always superb, regardless if it’s business lunch or special evening dinner. I highly recommend it to people who love great food and excellent environment.
We went to The Warehouse for our anniversary and it was fantastic. I got the Seafood sampler and my husband got the NY Strip. The steak was perfectly cooked and the amount of seafood I got was substantial for the price. Our server was so sweet and made sure we well taken care of. They gave us an amazing bread pudding for our anniversary. It was just so good and we normally go for a chocolate dessert. Overall the experience was amazing. We will definitely be back.
The table was ready upon arrival. The wait staff were very friendly and responsive. The menu offered something for both of us but was on the more expensive side. I felt that I did get what I paid for and left feeling very satisfied.
Definitely recommend the Lobster Cobb Salad!
While the restaurant was attractive and had good service the food was not good.
Great location. Service was very good. Waiter came by every 5 to 10 mins to see if we needed anything. Prices are a but much though and it's more of a dress up kinda place. Probably hangout elsewhere if your looking just to have a few drinks and something to eat and not pay an arm and a leg.
Lovely restaurant in the heart of Old Town Alexandria. Quality food, comfortable ambiance and impeccable service
Nice quaint restaurant. The waiter was great. Knowledgeable and very helpful. Some of the seating areas are a lil tight. The food was pretty good. The service more than made up for any deficiencies. Great place to go on a date, night out or just to grab a bite.
Meal, drinks and service were excellent!
It’s been a long time since we’ve eaten in Old Town Alexandria and found the food to be delicious. This place was incredibly delicious and we will be back! We celebrated my husbands birthday and the waiter surprised him a scrumptious slice of bread pudding. There was not a crumb left! My birthday is next and we can’t wait!! ❤️
We were there to celebrate my Wife's birthday. Everything was perfect. The seafood dishes were superb and served piping hot (as it should be)! My friends who accompanied us thoroughly enjoyed their dishes (Southern Fried Catfish and Trout Orleans). I had the smothered catfish and my wife had the softshell crabs and once again both dishes were perfectly prepared. I must also put in a plug for the she-crab soup which was also delectable and would highly recommend as an appetizer. The service was also exceptional! I would highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions.
The scallop appetizer was fantastic. The seafood special in parchment was so delicious. The ambiance and the service (Rahel) awesome. Will definitely be back!
The food is yummy but also it's a throwback to times when people indulged in heavier fare. If you like thick, Rich sauces then this is the place for you. Service is friendly and immaculate and prices are fair.
Dining at The Warehouse is always a pleasure. They consistently provide excellent food and service. It's one of my all time favorites!
My Birthday experience was wonderful!! Service was great, food came out in good time, and our waiter was very attentive and accommodating. Next, I’m going to try their Sunday brunch, i heard it was great!
Once again the Warehouse comes through with a great Sunday brunch! Each entree was wonderful. Service was great and we could have a catch up conversation and be heard.
Love this restaurant! One of the top restaurants in Alexandria! We stop for dinner or brunch every time we are in town!
Restaurant looks nice when you walk in.
We were seated right away however our table left a lot to be desired. Right at the top of the stairs.
Our waiter must have been in a bad mood as he was not pleasant at all.
Food was mediocre at best.
There are a lot of restaurants in the area so I would recommend picking a different one.
The food was delicious, I should've went with my gut feeling and ordered from the regular menu verses the restaurant week menu. I'll take it as lesson learned. Our waiter wasn't very tentative and seemed a little irritated at times. Almost as if we was bothering him, we had to ask for bread and one of the quest didn't receive her beverage. In return we left a 15% gratitude tip instead of the full 20%. I overheard a discussion as I exited the rest room about how disappointed the waiter was with his tip. To save an argument I left it alone. But a rule of thumb I live by is treat everyone as you want to be treated. I dine out often and always incorporate a nice favorably tip for the waiter or waitress. I tend to frequent this establishment quite often for brunch and have always been very satisfied with the food and the service. I'll chalk this one time up to restaurant week and the volume of patrons that must 've come that particular day. Overall I enjoy this restaurant it's one of my favorite establishments in Ole town. I won't let this one particular experience keep me away.
Service awesome, food awesome, ambiance awesome! Will def be back, went for brunch, eggs Benedict and champagne was exactly what i needed!
Two of us went for restaurant week. The she crab soup was excellent. The tilapia and crab was excellent.
The dessert was minimal but for $22, they have to economize somewhere. I think this is an excellent restaurant. It has a Louisiana tone that I did not expect in Old Town Alexandria.
Great place with good food and excellent wait staff.
I asked for a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives and they made it happen even though it wasn't on the menu.... i was a happy customer!
Good any time, Washington Restaurant Week is an opportunity to sample some great food at a very special price. The three course menu includes coffee or tea. Friendly service and good food. You can't go wrong.
We were there during restaurant week. Everything was wonderful. The crab cakes were outstanding. All lump crab. However, the steak that went with it was terribly tough. They competed us a second dessert and a free glass of wine. They couldn’t have been nicer. Will return again for the crab cakes.
Poor service by our waiter made this evening much less enjoyable. Hastily took our order, no discussion of specials and left our table before we could ask questions.
It has been so long since I have dined at The Warehouse that I figured it was time to try it again. I chose to go during Restaurant Week and their menu was impressive with options like crawfish and shrimp beignets, gator stew and surf & turf. Overall the food was good but wasn't impressive. The Warehouse serves solid food options and flavors but unfortunately, without the wow factor which you would expect for the prices you pay outside of Restaurant Week. Also, our server did not seem very knowledgable on the menus even though it seemed like he had been working there for years. Bottom line, it's a decent restaurant that I'm happy I tried again but I'm not sure I'll go back.
Those who had the She Crab soup loved it. Entrees were large portions. Food was above average. Service was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere.
