My husband and I went to the Warehouse for our wedding anniversary. I had the shellfish baked in parchment, and my husband had the catfish. Both were very good. The servers and manager were pleasant and attentive. For dessert, our server brought us a plate with slice of bread pudding and Happy Anniversary written on it in chocolate. The bread pudding was phenomenal! I would come back just for that.
For the expense the overall experience is not that unique
The Warehouse has a lovely, cozy atmosphere with excellent waiters and terrific food!
It was a great experience. We were seated right away at a great table looking out onto the street and had a great view of the holiday lights. The service was outstanding staff all very friendly and helpful. Each course of our meal was great. I had the New York steak and it was well cooked and seasoned. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it different not had it with pineapple before but really enjoyed the taste. Overall it is a great place for dinner and I would highly recommend it.
1/2 hour wait with reservations was disappointing. Food was very good.
I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The reviews seemed so promising. I have lived in NoVA all my life and go to Old Town quite often. Restaurants are small and waits can be long. However, i made a reservation for 7 and we were not seated for an hour after our reservation. The young lady running the front could not careless about anything and did not seem to even want to be there. I gave her and her manager my name 4x before they even looked me up and checked me in. To make it
Absolutely! We enjoyed everything! Parking is terrible, but not the restaurants fault.
Always great food. Strawberries and champagne are a nice treat.
Fabulous as always! There was a bit of a wait (even with a reservation) but we had great drinks at the bar while we waited (try the Lemon Drop Martini - it’s wonderful!).
Waited 30 minutes past my reservation time to be seated. Noise level was horrible. Food service completely rushed.
Always a top notch experience dining here! The seafood is always so fresh and the service is wonderful. It’s our go to restaurant in Old Town.
To be honest, we showed up for our reservation 5 minutes late. I understand a 5 or 10 minute punishment for being late. When we spoke to the host he told us we would have to wait 30 minutes possibly longer. (Now when I booked this table 2 hours prior there were tables available every 15 minutes for the whole evening.)
The bar was full with people, so we told the host we were going to a place across the street for drinks while we waited. After an hour I called to ask about the status of our table. The host told us in 5 minutes he would have a table for us. We closed our tab at the the other establishment and walked over to The Warehouse about 5 minutes. We walk to the host and he tells us we will have to wait until another table leaves. We were finally seated an hour and fifteen after our original reservation.
Why did we wait or stay you ask. That is a very good question. I have friends in the industry, so I always feel I should honor my reservation. I think this experience taught me a valuable lesson the next time this happens.
We finally got seated, and while we were making our dinner decision the waiter came over and asked for our drink order. My wife told him we were still looking at the menu, and had not decide yet. He rudely turned away and went to another table. Eventually, the waiter came back for our order. We ordered a bottle of wine, soup, wedge salad, the crab cakes and the steak “Pontchartrain”.
The soup and salad were good, but nothing to write home about. The crab cakes were bland and came with 2 stalks of asparagus and a few potato wedges for $32.95. The steak was under cooked for the temp I asked for, and again came with 2 stalks of asparagus on bed of mashed potatoes for $39.95.
Was this dinner worth the wait or the rude service? No definitely not. Feel free to try this place if you would like, but as a Alexandria resident I know there are plenty of places along King St. with better food and service that I will continue to patronize.
Always a great dinner!!
Absolutely packed house greeted a party of 10 on a Friday night in the holiday season. The staff did a great job getting us OUT by our 7:30 pm stated goal. Food was excellent, there was a bit of a wait for entrees and one forgotten cocktail, but considering the packed house and the line of people we had to wade through to exit the restaurant, we think they did an excellent job. Great crabcakes and gumbo, as per usual
Fantastic dinner as always! Best She Crab Soup you’ll ever have. One our family’s all time favorite restaurant
Found free street parking fairly easily for a Saturday night. Walked right in at our reservation time, were greeted by name and got our seat. Wait staff was attentive and knew when we were ready for their help. My wife and I both had, wine, pecan-crusted crab cakes for an appetizer and the Surf & Turf for the entree. Wine was great (Merlot), crab cakes were awesome and my entree was outstanding (medium rare filet). My wife’s steak was medium with well done corners. We ended up sharing. Everything else was spot on - we were not asked if our steaks were correct and we didn’t want to send food back. We will definitely visit again since everything else was wonderful.
The food & Service were exceptional. The staff took great care of us & our food was cooked perfectly!
Excellent food and prompt, attentive service by the waiter
The Warehouse has interesting cuisine, a relaxing environment, and a great wine list. It was easy to have conversations and the service was excellent.
We spend Thanksgiving here, really enjoyed the food, and the service.
Very nice and surprisingly spacious. Food was delicious and the attendants courteous and respectful.
This is wonderful food in a fine dining atmosphere. Worth the extra for the quality of food and service.
Impeccable. Love it when I can splurge for a very nice meal.
Food is very expensive for the quality and we were seated in a crowded corner when the restaurant was mostly empty
It has been a year and a half since our last visit to The Warehouse and we were eager to return. Sadly, our expectations were a bit too high. We were seated quickly and served promptly. However, we were disappointed in the food. While my wife said the salmon was good, it was nothing special. I acknowledge that porterhouse is not the best cut of veal. However, to be kind, my meat was extremely chewy and not particularly tasty. The fried onion rings that accompanied the meat were soggy, greasy and cold. I discarded them as inedible. Likewise, the mashed potatoes were cold and after one bite, I avoided them as well. We shared the strawberries crème freche and agreed it was excellent.
So, we will dine here again, but our expectations will be somewhat lower.
This is an elegant spot in Old Town, Alexandria and my absolute favorite place on the entire East Coast. The cuisine is reminiscent of New Orleans. My favorites include the she crab soup and the Cajun Popcorn Shrimp Salad. The gumbo is great and the creme brûlée is to die for!
Excellent dining experience. Great food, surf and turf as well as a superb waitstaff.
The food was great and the portions were amazing...we had two days worth of fantastic leftovers. It was crazy busy and it seemed that the kitchen staff was overwhelmed. It took almost an hour to get the food. The place is a bit "tight" so the noise and the closeness of the tables makes for a comfy dining experience. I'd definitely go back, the Warehouse is really good.
Very nice lunch menu.
We had a great meal and a perfect table by the window
Birthday celebration- lovely meal and exceptional service
The restaurant is beautiful and located in a beautiful neighborhood.
The staff was amazing, the food was amazing, the vibe was amazing-it is definitely a place that I would come back to again!
We go there twice a year, and it never disappoints. I had horseradish crusted salmon and my wife the short ribs. Both superb.
Great food and service.
Food and service was excellent. Delicious crab cake and salmon.
Consistently great food, service and ambiance in lovely downtown Old Town, as always. We will return for the holidays, as always.
The Warehouse is one of our favorite restaurants in Alexandria. We have never had a bad meal or experience when dining there, and our last visit was no exception. The wait staff is always very helpful and accommodating, and when you put that together with the quality of the food, it always makes for a good experience.
Outstanding, as usual! My friend and I celebrate our birthdays here every year! They make us feel so special!
Food was outrageous.
We take the train in from Virginia Beach twice a year. Every time we come we eat at the Warehouse (Olde Towne)for dinner. The food is always Delicious and service Excellent. Last night I had Filet —cooked perfectly and my wife had Veal Scallopini with Cajun crawfish/shrimp. Five star all the way!! (Would love to have a gentlemen’s cube in my scotch —just a suggestion) Love this place !!
We had a wonderful time celebrating my wife’s birthday. The food was perfectly cooked, from the Nola oysters to our bourbon pecan pie! The seafood sampler was delicious and the filet mignon was cooked precisely.
