We had dinner here early (5:30) on a Sunday night during a holiday weekend. It was pretty quiet when we got there but filled up quickly and was relatively packed by the time we left. The dining room is a cool large first floor of a townhouse/brownstone with a small bar in the middle, and the kitchen seemed to be upstairs. Service was excellent throughout, both quick and attentive, yet perfectly unobtrusive for our quiet date night. The food was great, as well, and I ordered completely off the specials menu, which is unusual for me but worked out very well. Fried alligator appetizer and braised short ribs for me, surf and turf for my wife (the surf is crab cake which is awesomely DMV), and everything was done well and tasted great. The menu had a lot of range, leaning towards Southern/Creole seafood, but there were plenty of other options if that isn't your scene. Based on this experience, I definitely want to go back and try the crawfish etouffee, fried catfish, and pasta jambalaya, as well as to see what other specials might be in store. Honestly, the only changes I might have asked for in a perfect world was to dim the lights and turn up the background music a little bit for ambiance, but I think that hardly counts as a complaint.
Every time we visit family in Old Town we head to The Warehouse for the crab cakes and this week they were as delicious as ever — both times!!
Food and drinks were excellent.
Celebrating Valentines Day this weekend in Alexandria. Wonderful experience! Food was excellent!!
We were excited to finally try the place after hearing how good it supposedly is... but we will never return! The oysters on the half shell were mediocre... the crab cake appetizer was heavily fried, lacking in flavor, and tiny... the wedge salad was also lacking a lot of flavor and it needed a better blue cheese dressing, more tomatoes, and it was missing green onions entirely!... the filet I ordered medium rare came out WELL, sent it back and it came out between a medium and a medium-well. And there was a large party right near us full of young twenty-something girls who were so obnoxiously loud and even singing occasionally (really?!?). We decided to skip dessert and instead headed across the street to a favorite of ours, Sonoma Wine Cellars... finally we had a great dessert and wine pairing... so glad we didn't stay at The Warehouse any longer!
Food was fantastic as usual. Live the crab cakes!
The warehouse was absolutely amazing! The food and service was by far the best ive had. I had a reservation and walked in and was seated immediately which I appreciate. I will definitely visit again and appreciate the wonderful experience!!
Excellent across the board ! Wonderful evening...will return to this establishment in the future. Kudos to the entire staff.
The service and food was great the one issue I did have was parking which they have no control. I will be coming back.
Best crabcake I've seen in a restaurant. Excellent service.
Came for our book club meeting. Someone came late due to traffic and we stayed talking a little while after we finished paying and we never felt rushed or unwelcome. The coffee was good and refilled regularly which I appreciated most as I have found many upscale restaurants to have mediocre coffee and then skimp on their refills. Also our waiter was very attuned to our cream situation and when he refilled the coffee and saw all the cream gone he brought more without us having to ask.
The She Crab Soup was delicious (especially with the bread dipped in) and the french toast was nice and crispy on the outside but soft inside and made all the more exciting eating it with the strawberries and cream over top. The bacon was the perfect crispiness. Everyone else at the table seemed quite satisfied with their orders as well.
I would definitely go back here.
The best thing we had was the Crab Cake appetizer, we both had steaks, mine was cooked to the right temp but with no flavor and my friends was over cooked. I found what looked like part of a zip tie in my mashed potatoes, the waiter offered to make it free but I’m guessing the owner told him no and offered a free desert instead. The waiter was very nice, but I went there for a meal and to be honest it was very bad especially for the cost, 140 bucks for two people with a total of three drinks plus tip.
It was our first time there. Nice place and great service. Pretty good wine list. I had the New York strip, was massive and cooked the way I ordered. My wife had filet mignon, and commented a couple of times how nice it was. We’ll be back.
Everything was perfect from reception to food we enjoyed
We love the Warehouse grill
exquisite! it was my first time in Alexandria and this restaurant was recommended by a ‘regular’ who has their caricature on the wall. absolutely did not disappoint! the she crab soup is to die for and i’m not even a seafood lover!
We very much enjoyed our dinner at The Warehouse. Everything was excellent -- the ambiance, the food, the staff.
Very nice first time going there service was good wish it was more spacious down stairs tables are to close together
Very nice restaurant! Went for valentines day and the food and service was on point. Thank you!!
Our favorite restaurant in the DC area. Reliably great.
Excellent dining experience if you are looking for Louisiana/Mississippi style southern style dining.
Great service!! Food was outstanding!!
The seafood was excellent and was much better than the steak, which was too bad because my dinner partner does not like seafood.
Daughters 13th birthday
Had a wonderful time. Splitting the check is a challenge for large groups. The food is amazing though. Just encourage friends to bring cash and enjoy the celebration!
The food was delicious and the staff was very good and helpful. The she crab soup was divine. I got steak Pontchartrain that was cooked perfectly. A great meal.
Great crab cakes & wonderful seafood!
Waiters. Excellent. Very good food
Waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and specials. Ordered one of the whitefish specials for the evening. Meal was well prepared and quite enjoyable. Desert tasted good but was slightly different than the menu description and on the dry side for a cake. Overall really good meal.
Second visit and once again it was AWESOME! Excellent food, tremendous wine selection. Tasty craft cocktails and above all else, tremendous service. Love this place!!!
While the food was great and the ambience relaxing the server was in a rush to move us out. She kept pushing us to order when it was clearly not a night where patrons were waiting to be seated. For the cost of the meal there should not have been a rush to move us along.
Great service and a real price bargain.
Great food and service.
First visit to the Warehouse for lunch. All entrees were properly prepared. Restaurant had a luncheon and also offered the full service dinner menu.
Our table was terrible. We stuck out in the aisle as it was obviously set there to maximize customer throughput. Very disappointed.
Overall food and wait staff was good.
Food was good, but overpriced, service was OK - When a business charges $25 plus for entrees you should not feel like you are in a bar. Not a comfortable experience if you are sitting on the second floor but not against a wall or near a window. If you have a reservation ensure you select a specific table.
We really enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely be back again.
Pretty good. Particularly liked the she crab soup and the catfish. Didn’t care for the pecan crusted mahi-mahi
