Those who had the She Crab soup loved it. Entrees were large portions. Food was above average. Service was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere.
Restaurant Week Date Night - we come to the Warehouse often and enjoy the restaurant week menu
We went for Restaurant Week. Food was delicious, service was wonderful - we will definitely be back! Try the shrimp and crab beignets - they were really good!
Starting with the host and servers: they're professional and friendly in a comfortable way. Food: delicious and fresh, couldn't ask for better. My oyster po'boy tasted heavenly.
The food, as always, was fantastic.
We arrived 1/2 hour early and were seated immediately. The waiter was prompt with bringing menus, and a server brought water over immediately. Next, the waiter took our drink orders and gave us time to peruse the menu. We ordered a 1/2 liter of house Chardonnay. The wine was okay.
For appetizers, I ordered the wasabi crusted oysters. I got three. For one dollar less, I could have gotten six raw oysters. I would have ordered the raw ones, had I known. The wasabi crusted were okay, but nothing to rave about. My husband ordered the pecan crusted crab cakes. They were bigger than expected. The taste of the nuts overwhelmed the taste of the crab. My main course of branzino with crawfish and crab was a little dry. My husband said that his seafood in parchment was good. I didn’t taste it, but it looked good.
Since I had indicated in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, we received a complementary bread pudding dessert. It was really good! I liked it better than the meal.
Overall, nice ambiance and great service. However I’ve had better seafood.
My husband and I went there for brunch the day after our wedding. Wonderful venue with delicious food and a bread pudding to die for! We want the recipe!
Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding!
My guest had the seafood dish with a variety of seafood while I had the pasta with seafood and sausage. He is a true epicure and loved his. I thought my dish was ordinary. The service was attentive and respectful. The noise level was what we could expect on a Friday evening. The overall ambiance is above average. It seems little crowded.
Restaurant Week and our first venture out in Old Town (just moved to the area)! Service was great. We had heard that the food was really good but experiencing it was on another level. The three-course portions were perfect. Would definitely recommend and will be there again to try other menu items!
Party of 6, every order was thoroughly enjoyed; Incredible menu of varied choices and outstanding specials.
I adore the crab soup! The very best crab soup in the world is located at the Warehouse. Such a treat! So many dishes are divine: Lobster Cobb, Popcorn Shrimp salad and creme brûlée.
Was looking for a fun restaurant with good food to grab dinner with friends. It stared off great but went way down hill. The food is amazing and the drinks are very good as well. However the service was absolutely horrendous. We asked about our food as it had not arrived after about 45 minutes and were told it would be right out. It took another hour to actually see our food. The waiter didn’t seem to care one bit. The manager was friendly and handled the situation decently but it never should have gotten to the point it did. When you are watching tables around you get food and they ordered long after you it’s a problem and the waiter took no initiative and didn’t seem to care just trying to make more money off alcohol sales. I can’t recommend this place at all unless you are ok with bad service but good food.
Food was excellent but the noise level in the upstairs dining room made it almost impossible to have a dinner conversation--even the server had time hearing us. Service was not on point. The dining room isn't that large and there were multiple servers but we had to call the server over more than once. Sunday brunch seems to be a better option than Saturday night dinner.
Hard to argue with the view and the great service. Food solid A great evening
We had an early Saturday dinner reservation. Service was slow, but dinner conversation with friends compensated OK. Food was very good. Overall noise level was good, enabling us to converse without shouting. Table seating was cramped, but typical for Old Town Alexandria. Parking was a hassle due to the crowed summer evening.
Crab cakes are delicious
One of the steaks wasn’t even close to being cooked as ordered, but everything else was spot on...
Great crab soup and crab cakes
Loved it, we will be going back!
Upscale setting yet some work to do yet. The staff is very helpful and attentive
We had a wonderful dinner. Tasty food and great service.
Food was fine. Tables are too close together and unpleasant. Waiter was excellent. White wines were too sweet.
Outstanding food service and atmosphere. The Warehouse will surely be a frequent dinner option for us now.
Always a wonderful brunch at the Warehouse! We enjoyed the Cajun étouffé and soft shell crab specialties, crab + asparagus omelettes, and today's desserts -- peach cobbler! Our waiter was outstanding and the service impeccable!
Warehouse is one of our favorite places, and again, it was a delightful experience. My brother- and sister-in-law were visiting from Chicago, and we decided to relax here after a day of touring. The Tempranillo, the she-crab soup (which is a speciality and never disappoints), each of our entree’s, and the Tres Leche cake dessert were delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all! And our server, a gentleman originally from Senegal, was knowledgeable, courteous, sincere, and jovial. Thanks to the management and staff for running a great establishment.
Great food, service and ambiance! I highly recommend The Warehouse.
We love The Warehouse! The food is always perfect, the staff is friendly, fast, and thoughtful, and the owner treats us like an old friend.
I had my birthday dinner here and am well pleased with how I was treated. In the beginning it was a little rocky with reservations and trying to accommodate my guests, but it all worked out. Tignew and the Manger was amazing. Alexander was out waiter and he was great. He accommodated our guests who arrived late by adding another table to ours so they would not have to dine alone. It made the difference to me and suprised me with a birthday song. The food was delicious said all of my guests. Will definitely be dining here again.
Had dinner at this gem last night. Food was fantastic. Will definitely go back.
Most enjoyable in every way. Entrees and appetizers were to die for, especially the calamari and gumbo. A party of five, we all sampled each others food, except for one, he refused to share his salmon. Understandably, my salmon was awesome. Wish they offered some hard liquor that paired well with steak and fish. Great assortment of wines, and their selection of Rose from Italy is a great choice. Overall a place I will visit again.
I enjoyed the scenery of the Warehouse - it is nice that there remain restaurants that still give you a nice place setting, with multiple forks, cloth napkins and a decorative bread basket. Waiters are dressed up. Fast casual has decreased the "occasionality" of dining out. Went with my BF for a Saturday night dinner. A few folks were tourists, and dressed very casually, but it was nice that many folks were dressed in summer dress for an evening out to make it special.
The food...was mostly okay. Recognizing that the restaurant handles a lot of tourists, the dishes are marketed largely toward that type of crowd. "Mushroom dip" was just chopped up mushrooms in a bowl with some toasted baguette slices. "Gator bites" were like popcorn shrimp where you can barely detect the meat. The pecan crusted crab cakes were tasty - but the ratio of pecans (high) to crab cake (low) was off in my opinion. But - flavor was very tasty. We split the seafood sampler, which was very tasty. Veggies were bland, but the plate needs color so glad to have them. I liked the little red potatoes. The seafood was all good. Nice variety. We skipped dessert. I enjoyed my aperol spritz. Reasonable price for food and location. We had a good time. I'd go back, I think. Waiter was very pleasant and responsive. Bread, light fluffy and great butter that was soft. Waiter got our order wrong a bit, but forgivable.
Booked in advance a table for 5/6 to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Everything was as expected. The service and food was outstanding. The staff was more than accommodating. THANK YOU to The Warehouse for making this day special ! We will return ! I Highly Recommend The Warehouse
Restaurant was cold, service was good but a bit disjointed - had to ask twice for some things (wine, flatware, which was cleared after appetizer) items were removed very quickly, etc. Food and experience are always good, just a bit chaotic this time.
They are known for their crab cakes & She Crab Soup and they will not disappoint!
The service was impeccable, from the owner to the wait staff!
Great ambiance & the best She Crab Soup I’ve ever had! So many wonderful flavors & big chunks of crap in this heavenly soup!
The crab cakes were fantastic! They don’t use “fillers”.
I highly recommend & would go back!
Enjoyed my lunch at the Warehouse very much, however, the appetizers were small for my group and everything was quite expensive. Service was good and everything was delicious, though. The restaurant is in a lovely area and the building is beautiful with fun caricatures lining the staircase of famous guests.
We've been going to The Warehouse for decades and have enjoyed it. Our visit on 7/21 was just okay. It was a hot day, and the temperature in the dining room reflected that. Our orders were not brought out at the same time, and we might've stayed for coffee and dessert if the dessert prices weren't close to $10 each. That's just silly. So, maybe it was just an off day, or maybe something is slipping there. I still liked it, but as the saying goes, it's not what it used to be.
My experience is always amazing. This is my favorite restaurant. The service and food is the best in Oldtown Alexandria
Food tasted and prepared great.
