The Wardroom is situated on a prominent corner in historic downtown Easton, Maryland, in what was formerly The Brick Hotel — considered a marvel of its time in the mid-19th century. The gastronomic, European-style shop and bistro offers handmade pastas, house-cured meats, and artisanal chocolates from top French chocolatier, La Maison du Chocolat. Both a pasta and wine bar, the Wardroom’s menu consists of authentic Italian pasta dishes, cheese and charcuterie plates customized for each guest, and seasonal salads and antipasto dishes. The basement houses an extensive wine cellar and intimate tasting room called The Locker, as well as a temperature-controlled cheese “cave,” and a kitchen where chefs produce fresh pasta each day.

                  As always the food was wonderful and the Wednesday special of ChickenParmesan was terrific. My favorite go to is the fresh arugula salad with shaved parmesean and a sprinkle of lemon juice …perfect for a hot summer evening. And the tuna tartar with crushed macadamias and orange bits was heavenly. Blueprint’s restaurant across the street (Washington Street Pub) had its grand opening the night we dined at the Wardroom and it seemed that our server would have preferred to be there instead of the Wardroom. Service was marginal as a result and not at all typical with my past visits. It is too bad that his poor attitude impacted our enjoyment of what would have been an otherwise wonderful evening with friends who experienced this restaurant for the very first time.

                  Lobster Fra diavolo was outstanding. Self serve wine stations are fantastic. Excellent selection. Fantastic service Highly recommend The Wardroom.

                  The food and service is outstanding. Still don’t understand selecting a bottle of wine from wine shelf and then not only paying for wine but an additional $25 corkage fee. Have never seen this at any restaurant.

                  I loved the wine experience. I was able to select whatever wine I wanted, on my schedule-loved the options and the ability to tast as many as I wanted. I started with the Roasted heirloom Carrots which were perfectly done-tender and flavourful. My husband started with the Polpo alla Griclia, which he said was outstanding.the rest of the menu is not gluten free, but we only wanted the charcuterie and cheeses-a very nice selection thought the charcuterie was salami heavy. The waiter did bring me some gluten free crakers, though. The portions were perfect-satisfying but not heavy-perfect for a warm evening. The waiter was friendly and attentive and we felt absolutely welcome to sit and nibble and chat as long as we like-no pressure to leave. The restaurant has a Parisian bistro vibe but not the noise, and the location is charming.

                  I’ve been coming to Easton for years butnever had the occasion to stop at the Wardroom. A friend of mine offered it up as a suggestion so six of us had cocktails there last night and breakfast this morning. The service is outstanding and the food amazing. Cannot wait to go back for dinner!
