This place was an absolute gem in this city. AMAZING cocktails and an experience to remember. Sarah the bartender was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and put on a great tasting. It is heartbreaking that this spot is closing. I do hope they have an opportunity to open again with the tasting experience. It's too unique and brilliant not to.

The place was cool and the servers were nice, but book with 3 people or more or else you will get sat facing a wall. The full tasting menu was not available to us, that is only for the 7PM and 9PM time slots. That was not mentioned on the website nor on any of the subsequent emails, so we showed up for a tasting and instead had to buy a mini tasting and drinks. Drinks are $20.00 or more. It was also very hard to get the wait staffs attention.

Selena was our cocktail MC for the night as she and another bartender prepared the 5 cocktails we had. All very bespoke and unique creations in their own right. Incredibly knowledgeable and happy to share some of the secrets of their recipes. We stuck around for another drink or two and chatted more with her and she made her spin on the daquiri that my girl was head over heels for. Very mellow, fun, small group catered experience.

We’ve been several times before for the omakase cocktail experience and thoroughly enjoyed it but this time was different. The staff was friendly and sweet but never really fully engaged with the patrons. They appeared to be more interested in speaking to and hanging out with each other. We wanted someone to engage us, walk us through the creations and create an experience. That didn’t happen. And while it is purely subjective, we didn’t like any of the cocktails and definitely wouldn’t order any of them again. It was for my wife’s birthday and overall, was a disappointing experience. Hopefully this was an off night and not the new norm.

I was confused by the term “tasting menu” - believing they meant “food.”

No such luck. There’s also some weird time requirement: if you reserve at 7pm, you can get the $70pp option but after that it’s drinks “tasting menu” for $40. If it was on the web site, i didn’t see it.

That being said - once we understood that it was drinks only, all was cool (except for trying to find a restaurant - 1st world dilemma).

Service is great. Cocktails are fascinating and wonderful. The vibe of the place is excellent and fun.

We need to figure out how to get food, if that’s even possible:)

I had a wonderful time. The tasting menu is everything! From the presentation to the first sip, everything is so well thought out. It was such an incredible over all experience. I had friends in town from New York, and it was such a pleasure to bring them to one of the best cocktail bars LA has to offer.

The cocktail program is not worth the $20 they charge for every cocktail. I can name 50 bars in LA with better cocktails (1886, Old Lightning, playa provisions, bar Stella to name a few) that are AMAZING cocktail bars and never charge more than 16. The only thing they had going was the intimate space, creativity and Christmas vibe - but that was ruined by old hip hop tracks. Our server couldn’t even describe the flavor profile of any of the cocktails - she just read back the menu when we asked about a drink and then ended with the line “and some other stuff.” No joke. Not worth it at all!!!

I was underwhelmed by the tasting at The Walker Inn. First, they served 5 FULL drinks with different types of spirits--which I think they should probably offer a disclaimer to patrons who are partaking--as this could be dangerous. Secondly, for the tasting, they ONLY offered one small container of popcorn. I would only go back for individual drinks--as I did NOT feel as though the tasting was anything special or worth the fee.

Absolute favorite cocktail experience in Los Angeles! The tasting menu is always creative, the bartenders are so cool and lovely to talk to. The lounge is way noisier than I would like considering it’s a speakeasy, but what can you do with drunk Los Angelenos.

The experience and the drinks are fantastic!

My only issue with this place is that it is seemingly impossible to correspond with this place if you have a question or need to modify your reservation. If you call the Normandie (the bar at the front), they'll direct you to email but guaranteed you won't receive a response.

My only recommendation for this establishment is either get a line that helps you better communicate with clients, OR be more on top with the correspondence.

The bar tasting at Walker Inn is one of my favorite nights out. If you love interesting cocktails, then you'll love it too. It's a quiet back room in a busy bar, with a 6 person counter. The drinks are presented one after another- not quite the same size as a full pour, but as you'll be drinking 5-7 of them in the next 2 hours, that's a-okay. There is usually an experiential component, as well as a small bite here and there. Remember to eat dinner first, otherwise you may find it a bit difficult to walk at the end. Some of my favorite drinks ever have been at the Walker, including the most interesting bloody mary, a hollowed out grapefruit, an old fashioned that tasted like christmas smells (served with charcoal ice), and a perfectly balance sake and pisco concoction that was entirely unique in my experience. When you're done being fancy at Walker, head down the street to either korean bbq for sustenance or around the corner to breakroom for 80s themed dancing.

Amazing experience - staff were very colorful and really helped make a great atmosphere. The drinks were interesting but the course we had was on the sweeter side (which is a plus for me, but others may prefer less sweet). The only thing I would have liked more is if they had some in between accompaniments for the drinks, because it was basically pure alcohol for the whole course - maybe like a tray of almonds or something.

Overall I'd give it 9/10, I would recommend others to go and try the tasting course, but make sure to eat something before going since you will be ingesting a lot of alcohol.

The Walker Inn used to be my favorite cocktail bar, but the quality of service has dropped so much that the overall experience is significantly affected.
This past Saturday, we made a reservation for 3 to have drinks at the bar at 9:15PM. By 8PM, I realized that I had to work late, so I tried calling the number listed on The Walker Inn website 4 times over the span of an hour to try and move our reservation. However, no one picked up any of my calls. In my experience, The Walker Inn does not respond to emails in a timely manner. Furthermore, Opentable does not allow one to make changes to the reservation after booking. So, I figured we would just try to get there ASAP. One of my female friends was already in the neighborhood, but it was her first time there, so she was a little lost. She arrived slightly late, and was told that they had already given our table away. When my boyfriend and I arrived around 9:35PM, the young male hostess who answered the door told us that since we were more than 20 minutes late, they gave our table away. This was a blatant lie, because my female friend checked her text history and found that she arrived less than 10 min late.

The 3 of us were crammed at the tiny bar in the far right corner of the Inn. We were uncomfortable, but agreed to make do in the meantime with hopes that a table would open up. We waited a long while for someone to come and take our order, but no one cared to serve us. I finally lost my patience and approached the male hostess to see if he could send someone to take our order. When I returned, my female friend admitted to me that the male hostess was really rude to her when she checked in ahead of us. She said she felt really unwelcome at The Walker Inn, so we decided to leave before anyone cared to take our order.

Well the place is extraordinary, the reservation was for us to experience the bar flight, unfortunately they advised us that they were booked for the bar table and had to sit us at the tables. We booked for the bar experience online and were disappointed to find out we were not part of the 5 drink for 70.00 reservation.

The bartender, Sarah, was amazing and very talented and animated. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail is infectious.

Very cool atmosphere, felt fun finding it at the back of Normandie lounge. The bartender was fantastic, super knowledgeable and down to earth. Cocktails were equally as amazing.
Only a couple of small critiques. First it felt like among the 5 cocktails there was a lot of mixing of spirits (from sake, gin, rum, then whiskey, etc) and ingested in a faster time than I’m used to, so I left half my drinks when we left. And it was a bit awkward sitting with a whole row of people who were involved in the tasting too. I originally thought it would be my husband and I going through this tasting and have a fun date night, so a little bummed about that part. But otherwise all in all, it was a really good experience and the staff are fantastic and experts in what they do.

The Walker Inn is a unique and rewarding experience. Tucked “secretly” inside the Hotel Normandie Bar is a speakeasy of sorts. Flipping the light switch next to the labeled secret door will activate a red light overhead. We were then greeted with a smile and brought in to the cozier and slightly more detail focused space. The team at the walker inn were incredibly friendly and insanely skilled. We were taken through a 5 drink experience crafted and laced out comfortably. The tasting menu we experienced is by reservation because there are only 4 seats at the bar. One after another we were treated to takes on classics or whole new concepts, blurring the lines between food and drink. The shining example of this was their brown butter washed potato vodka served with a salted fingerling potato. With slightly sweet/caramel notes you experience a baked and buttery potato in beverage form only reinforced further by the small bites of actual baked potato. Balancing elegance and showmanship the drinks and experience at The Walker Inn is a must visit for anyone who truly appreciates flavors and fine cocktails.
