From the Michelin Guide:
"Yes, it's located in a strip-mall, but this Latin-American spot doesn't hesitate to pile on the glitz and glam: crystal chandeliers float above banquettes piled with velour pillows, and a long, 20-seat marble counter faces the open kitchen. Though it's a bit far from downtown Mountain View, it's a popular haunt for the techies from nearby offices, who link up to power-lunch. Skillfully prepared dishes, however, prove that The Voya isn't just for show. Tender cochinita pibil tacos, drizzled with habanero sauce, arrive with a pile of tasty cilantro-infused rice, and the sweet and crunchy coconut shrimp with herb aïoli are full of flavor. For dessert, a molten chocolate cake may be a '90s throwback, but it's a gooey, rich and captivating one."

$58 for an overly deep fried dried empandilla (not good quality) and a seafood paella without a trace of socarrat is horrible. Restaurant was freezing and when I asked for the AC to be adjusted they didn’t adjust. Previous visit with my company for private party was great but daytime food and service was terrible.
Great food and service! Ate outdoors which was very pleasant!! We will be back again!!
Poor service, I had to ask several times for a cocktail. The waiter's are unatentive and distracted. The experience was mediocre at best ( not even good at being bad). This place is realy not worth your time.
Small restaurant, we sat at the end so we faced all the tables. Only beer and wine. The menu on line had more choices. I would not go back.
Very good food place to eat for lunch. A little bit too noisy for conversation.
Very good dining experience here. Calamari & seafood paella were cooked to perfection. The sea bass was bland.
Everything about our experience was perfect. We will definitely be returning and recommending The Voya to our friends and family.
Dodd was very good but small portions given the expense
Too expensive for quality of food, chicken was too bitter to be eaten, gave feedback to server and he just shrugged off
A little disappointed this time with the food.
Great service and awesome food . Great wine list . We really enjoyed ourselves.
Delicious food! Small, quaint restaurant with a romantic atmosphere...
Love the food and restaurant ambient. Price is reasonable.
SO loved this restaurant! I like smaller restaurants, lots of ambiance, fabulous wait staff.....but, most importantly INCREDIBLE food. Three of us went and everyone loved their meal. I will be back again and again!
Very good food and service. Interesting menu, very original.
We had a nice meal at Voya - we started with the emapanadillos; one order comes with 3 and 2 sauces so we ordered 2 for our party of 5. Next we did a trio of ceviche - all were good but the Cabo Ceviche had a bit too much lime in it. Our party ordered seven seas seafood bowl (he said it was very good) the cochinita pibil (very good) and the Churrasco Argentino - both of us ordered this medium rare and it came out perfectly done. Our waiter was attentive without hovering and service was very smooth. We were there on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was not crowded.
We started with guacamole appetizer and the shrimp cerviche. Both very good but I did not notice any shrimp in the cerviche. I had salmon and my wife had the shrimp dinner. Both were very good. The service was good. The odd part was, for a Saturday night, the place was empty. There was only one other couple in the restaurant.
I was looking for a Spanish restaurant for dinner with a friend and opentable recommended The Voya. I think in the menu the only thing that was Spanish were the paella, everything else was somewhat Mexican, Peruvian dishes. The place has a good menu and service was friendly. We were surprised at the high corkage fee ($35), even the waiter apologized for it.
I would go back with the understanding that this is not a Spanish restaurant and instead it has some bistro type latin food.
I choosed this restaurant for the reviews and for the convenience of being close to home. Great place service was excellent is very small so not much privacy on your conversations the food was good...but must say it is a bit on the expensive side. It was a date night w my honey so is ok for once in a while but I could not do it often. But a great place to try 😁
Interesting find. Good food, good service, small intimate setting.
The salmon maya was simply amazing. Even better when it was paired with Savaugnon blanc.
We love The Voya. We have taken several friends there and they have all loved the restaurant. This is such a fabulous neighborhood joint!
Great waiter. Forget name- had a lot of tattoos. He was awesome.
Good was so good!
We ate outside and inset of the cool breeze it was a good spot. A large group arrived shortly after we got there and they took up much of the small interior of the restaurant. Servers were helpful in making our selection and the food is good. We were told all the food tends to be spicy, but if you tell the server you don't want the spice they can accommodate that because every dish is freshly made. Definitely try one of the ceviche starters.
We have just recently discovered Voya and have been twice already. The second time bringing friends and all of us agreed that it was amazing food in a lovely atmosphere. We have only sampled the tapas so far and their chocolate dessert is seriously scrumptious! We will definitely be back!
Having season tickets to TheatreWorks, I have dined at nearly all of the Mountain View restaurants before heading to the theatre. This restaurant was new to me and am I sorry I didn't know about it before!1 The food was well-prepared and extremely tasty. Servings were ample and generous and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. What a wonderful surprise! It is my new favorite for dinner before theatre. I will be back, for sure!!!
Really good food, but service is very slow. Probably didn’t help that we were on the back patio
Great pre concert restaurant. A bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Wine and beer only
Food was tasty, but not incredible. Interesting menu, but too expensive for what it is. Restaurant's location, ambiance, and food quality not worth the price. Wine menu incredibly top-heavy too. Nothing under $14/glass. Pacifico was ~$9 too.
My food was overpriced and cold and had no flavor. It looked pretty on the plate but was nothing special.
Food was good, but not out of this world, service was very good. Enjoyed the meal, a bit over-priced.
i loved everything that I tasted .We went with 5 people for a birthday so I tasted everyone's food. They gave us 2 complimentary desserts for the birthday' my only negative on this restaurant is the wine prices were disgusting really! wines by the glass were $17 - and up and that's just too much .
We were in the area for a meeting and wanted to have dinner close by. It looked interesting so we gave it a try. The setting is in a strip mall which was weird but once we got inside the decor was lovely. The food was great and the service was exceptional. But overall the price was much more than we had been expecting or looking for. So, we would recommend it highly but this is not a casual dining experience.
Our first time at The Voya turned out to be a very good experience. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and attentive without being invasive. There is an interesting selection of appetizers and main courses to the point that it was difficult to choose among options. The wine selection was somewhat limited but eclectic. The sitting area is very small, so reservations are recommended unless one wants to dine on the counter.
Its a small place. Waiter rushed us from the moment we got the table. Food was tasty and good but over expensive. Difficult to justify the value!!
Unlikely to go back and will not recommend.
Need a full bar.
Tucked away inside a small shopping center is a true 'joya', real jewel, named Voya. And Voya is a joya in many respects, as the food is delicious and the service quite personal as it is a small place. So don't miss it, well worth the effort. Enjoy!
Another winning meal at Voya. Crab and avocado salad were awesome along with the Ceviche mixer and guac. Had one Sangria which is always good too! Check out the Branzino...how else serves a plate like this in the bay area...nobody! I even took photos to prove it:)
I absolutely love this place! It is so underrated!! This place has great food and an amazing staff. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner there. The food is really great, lots of Gluten free options as I have to stick to that protocol and it didn’t even feel like I was missing anything. We come every few months and we are amazed at how great it is every time. I recommend the coconut shrimp, the empanadas AND don’t forget the guacamole! It’s the best besides my own which I make at home, and believe me I’m a tough critic when it comes to Guac!! 😊
