The Vintage Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We went for dinner and had a great time. It was very cool watching the trains go by on the track adjacent to the dining car which was in an old train. Service was excellent and food very good. Both of our desserts were excellent. It was a Friday night, so it took a while to get through our meal, but we weren't in a rush, so it was OK. Overall a really good experience and we will probably be back even though it is an hour drive (in light traffic).
We have dined here many times over recent years, frequently purchasing Groupon four-course meals. Their whole menu has terrific options and even their limited Groupon menu provides nice choices. I would recommend staying with the meat options as the only bad meal we have had was less than fresh fish on a Thursday evening. Train car seating is terrific fun, and I would recommend the Vintage to anyone who enjoys a well prepared upscale meal.
The filet mignon was fabulous but the venison was so-so. Great presentation. Nice variety of vegetables. This was a late Valentine celebration so it wasn't too crowded. The dessert was great too. I just can't remember the name except it was named after the restaurant and was first on the list. Very light and tasty.
Vintage steakhouse was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Wait time, food quality, time it took to get each course of food out to us, and busing table service were all TERRIBLE.
First, our email-confirmed reservation for 7 was not in their system. I showed the hostess my phone w/ confirmation but it still took her 20 minutes to seat us - seating other people ahead of us. Our waiter was as super nice guy - so that is one big positive. It took forever to get appetizers. Then it took forever to get our main meal. Then it took forever to get our dessert. Service is NOT smooth. The quality of my husband's steak was AWFUL. It was the most gristly sirloin we've ever had at a restaurant and we eat steak out A LOT. The artichoke heart appetizer was not flavorful and small. My salad was hohum. The peanut butter creme brulee dessert was actually quite good, though!
As other tables around us emptied and guests left no restaurant staff ever cleaned up or bused their tables. As we sat there 2 1/2 hours after being seated (OMG - painfully slow service) we looked across the empty dining room at NINE dirty tables with dirty plates, used glasses, soiled napkins all piled on the tables. It was not appealing.
The building itself is cool but the quality of food and execution of service needs MAJOR overhauling. Save your money and go anywhere else but here.
Food was delicious. Weny for the Sunday brunch and was surprised just how wonderful everything was. Service was excellent our server Tony was wonderful as we're all the other servers as they would always stop to see if we needed anything...
Would definitely recommend it!
We did not know that the menu was set for Valentine's Day. We would have preferred to order from the regular menu. Our table was not ready at our reservation time so we sat in the bar which was actually a very nice atmosphere. The restaurant food was very good but the service was very s-l-o-w. I do not like to be rushed but the timeliness of our food was not acceptable considering that the menu was limited and the crowd size. In fact, they required a credit card to hold our reservation, which I do not like at all. So they should have been equipped for a busy night. We finally asked to take our dessert to go since we got so tired of waiting to be served. The waiter was ok but they were short staffed.
This was a choice for a nice Valentine's Day dinner. To start, I checked the Open Table menu for this place and it had a good selection of entree choices. Now I chose this restaurant from Open Tables Valentine restaurant list. The price list shows $30 for an entree on the app. I was a bit shocked to find out when I arrived that the restaurant had a fixed menu selection for VD at $75 per person. No mention of a fixed menu when I made my reservation. This included a "starter" choice, one entree and a desert. We were seated right away and our waiter took our order promptly. We ordered our meal and two cocktails. Our starter/appetizer arrived, was eaten and gone before we ever got our cocktails. We both ordered the New York steak with shrimp. The steak was great in size and flavor, but TWO regular sized shrimp..........come on. Desert was a single serving heart shaped cake. Now I must say without a doubt, all the food was delicious. The service was seriously lacking, by no fault of our server. Our server was working very hard and non stop with a lot of tables. The food and drinks were just very slow to come out. With a fixed menu and only a handful of choices, those items should fly out of the kitchen, but it was obvious their coordination of service was very poor. Now my food, when it did arrive, was just as I ordered, but not so for other customers. The table next to us had to send an appetizer back because it was cold. Another table sent their meal back THREE times and finally left without eating. It took nearly two hours to have a three course meal from a fixed menu. At $75 dollars per person, I was not impressed and felt the overall experience was nowhere worth the price.
Was there on Valentine’s day with my lovely date, and found that all I had requested was happily accommodated, including the roses being placed on the table in the dining car. All the staff we encountered were highly professional and warm to us. It made our first Valentine’s experience together extremely memorable. John was our waiter and attentive and informative and knowledgeable as to the cuisine. The appetizer’s; entrees and dessert where all superb. I highly recommend The Vintage Steakhouse for the atmosphere alone. I know that my date and myself will be back for upcoming special occasions...
We reserved a table for Valentines day online, because we liked what we saw on the menu on the webpage. However, when we arrived, it was a mandatory three course valentines menu for 90$ a person. Which was not announced on the webpage!
We spend 300 $ at the restaurant, but had poor, unproffesional, untrained service, average food and nowhere near the steak we came for.
The setting was nice though...
A great setting with good steaks, sides, salads, etc. Hostess and wait staff could have been a tad more easygoing and light-hearted — although it may just have been our server who was a bit stiff (the others seemed like more fun). Overall a good experience and good value. Would certainly come back.
First time we have been there and let me tell you it was great. To start we had a grilled rare auhi and avacodao. Which was amazing. Then my wife had the filet mignon whither double baked potato and I had the venison two chops with read potato salad. All of which was amazing. We will be going again real soon..
We dined here for my mothers 51st birthday and she was very pleased with the restaurant aesthetic and service. Also very pleased that they served "blended" margaritas. Very small detail, but my mother prefers her margaritas blended and restaurants now a days hardly ever have a blender. The appetizers were delicious and so were our entrees. Definitely recommend.
Love your restaurants ambiance, but quite frankly your food quality has gone down hill. We ordered the Tomahawk Rib Eye and it was 1/2 fat. If you're going to be a steak house, then select the best cuts of meat. This was a Choice cut at best. Prime or AAA aged is your only option.
Our last visit was equally dissappointing with the food quality, but we gave it another shot hoping for a different outcome...
Food was cold. Steak was simply horrible, cold, chewy. They needed more waiters. We needed water then the check and we waited and waited. Dessert was so bad we just left it and when waiter asked how it was we told the truth. Who serves a cupcake dry and without frosting? No place I know. Very expensive birthday dinner that was just awful
Food was very good. Ribeye and Chilean sea bass and sides. Spinach salad was just leaves but surprisingly tasty with bacon and something dressing. Could have been warmer. Artichoke appetizer could have done without being bathed in sauce. One glass of wine and one martini. Seemed a little on the higher price side in comparison to similar restaurants.
Server was great and chatty. However between him and his backup there were some delays in getting second drink, dessert and the check. Wasn't in a hurry but notably had to look for server a couple times.
Adjacent booths make it a little difficult to speak privately but it is a train car. The occasional passing train gave the feel that we were on a train which was a fun novelty.
I fully recommend this place for one or two couples.
Great ambiance. The service is good. Food is very good, although a few items were prepared wrong or omitted this trip. The warm spinach salad was way off, not even warm. We never received our sauces for our top sirloin, but fortunately the steaks were good enough on their own that they didn't need the toppings. The lemon tart is phenomenal.
We came here on a Groupon and the food choices were nice. The food was great and very tasty. I had the shrimp and my husband had the pork chops. Both of us loved our meals and our sides. Only negative was the service was not very attentive. My drink ran empty 2 times. : ( And the place was not that busy.
The Ambiance was great with the train running alongside. The food was ok. Steak should have been cooked better. Since they are a "Steak house". I am use to dining at Morton's, Ruth Chris, Houston's and I know their steaks will be good. IF you call yourself a steak house be known for your steaks!
This was a fun place to dine because we sat in the railroad car. Romantic! The food was good overall. I had a Groupon which was not honored due to fine print "valid after Jan 2", and this was Dec. 16th. So had to pay full price, which I found a bit expensive for the food quality. All in all, a good experience but not rushing back due to pricing.
This was our first visit to the Vintage Steakhouse and and although the food was delicious the service was not up to par. We were seated in a corner of the room and our server seemed to be focused more on other tables and ignored ours. A couple of times we had to wait to catch his attention. A little disappointing for a first visit.
Great service at lounge and in dining rooms. All our selections (lamb, steak, sashimiand pork chops) were beautifully presented and had exquisite sauces. Their birthday dessert came with 2 flaky layered pastries filled with a rich creamy filling which was a smooth between a. mousse and whipped cream.
