Great Mother’s Day meal!
As usual, the food and service were excellent. My wife and I both had the salmon which was prepared to perfection. The freshly baked bread is always a treat.
Mother’s Day. It was perfect
Excellent short rib with polenta and a very nice wine selection.
I really enjoyed my lunch at the Vintage Press it’s always a special place go eat. I had the sirloin and it was delicious my husband had the lamb and said it was also delicious. Service was amazing I can’t wait to go back!
Fabulous restaurant, seated outside in the garden patio area. Just a wonderful experience. The waiter was courteous and patient with my 91 year old guest.
Great food. Good service. Nice place to spend our anniversary. Safety protocols were being used effectively. The noise level was good. It only got a little loud when the other diners began to enjoy their cocktails. The spaced tables made it seem to echo. Overall it was wonderful and we will be back.
Outstanding! This was my boyfriend first time coming to eat here. He was suprised at how amazing the food was! Definitely be coming back! I will be coming tomorrow for brunch with family! 😁
We made a last minute reservation for lunch without any difficulties. The food was excellent especially the appetizer puff pastry with mushrooms which we split.
Wonderful experience, as always! So happy to see everything opening up and patrons enjoying your wonderful restaurant. We’re so excited to have your sister venues open as well.
As always, the best restaurant in the Central Valley.
Food is usually delicious and the service is usually excellent. This time the waitress forgot 1/2 of our order, we had to pour our own champagne and the tuna tar tar came to the table looking like it had been sliced with a cheese grater; you could literally see the sinew and the veins in the fish- wasn’t edible and the lettuce was brown.
Nothing in Visalia compares to the Vintage Press. You must experience it at least once. But I bet you’ll return again and again. The recipe lunch club is a mother-daughter tradition for two generations so far.
The night one twist.........the service was very attentive..........the water bread and grilled artichoke came out in standard time. but, after about 45 minutes of being seated the waitress came to the table to tell us that they were out braised spare-ribs........my wife had to reorder (halibut). When the food arrived it was great. The filet mignon was perfect.....and the halibut was the best we've ever had (even as good as coastal restaurants). The desserts were awesome chocolate and straw berry cheese cake. Outside of the late reorder........the experience was pretty much top notch. Will go back soon.
Great option for a good meal and ambiance while in Visalia.
Dined in the garden and it was magical, twinkle lights and soft music. The Vintage Press never disappoints. Our table ordered the seasonal appetizers, artichoke and a creamy wild mushrooms in puff pastry. We ordered a selection of entrees and finished with 2 of the featured desserts, don't skip dessert! Wine list is unlike any, we ordered several bottles of Chablis since it was a warm Spring evening. I've been dining here since I was a young girl with my family and now live in Oregon and every time I come back to Visalia I make a stop at the Vintage Press, it's always a treat!
Amazing customer service
Always delicious, always great service. We ate on the patio at noon, there was a lot of noise....people just enjoying the day. Other than noise it was exceptional !
New York Strip had huge tendon running through, improperly cooked. The Shrimp had not been properly deveined. Everything was very greasy. All the dishes looked as though they were sitting under a heat lamp for an extended duration. The service was sub par. No plates were removed until next course. Wine glasses sat empty. Did not have a chance to properly try our entrees before being asked how they were. Courses were not paced. The wine and atmosphere were superior, but if the menu is going to be traditional fine dining, it is should be properly executed.
food was fantastic, our waiter was very attentive, polite and subtle. the overall experience was very enjoyable.
As always, it was a lovely brunch at the Vintage Press. I've been eating at the VP for most of my life, and their courtyard and food is better than ever. Thank you for continuing to serve our community with great food and a beautiful venue. Even during this crazy time, the VP found safe ways to serve it's customers and it is very much appreciated.
Excellent food, excellent service in a beautiful surrounding
Top notch food. Glad to see the VP can still hold its own against many high end restaurants. Wonderful anniversary experience
Entree: Spinach Salad with smoked bacon and chopped egg, followed by,
Main Course:Sonoma Duck Breast with Port Wine Reduction, Basmati Rice With slivered almonds
Dessert:Creme Brûlée, Black Coffee
Exquisitely prepared, presented and served. 5 Star (Michelin level dining.)
This is my favorite restaurant in all the Central Valley. Exceptionally good service even better menu. From wine to cocktails this place is outstanding.
Had a fabulous lunch for my parents anniversary. Everyone’s food was exceptional!
Found hair on my bread plate to start with after we were seated. Then while eating had gnats flying all around us and one landed in my wife’s salad. Reported it to the manager and waitress. Nothing was done at that time. Very nice restaurant, but just need to get the gnats under control before we go back. Good side food was excellent just had to eat fast before gnats got to it.
we had a reservation made over a week in advance and we stated that it was for our 45th anniversary.
When we arrived we were seated at a very small table in the bar area. I said to the hostess that the table was not nearly what we might have expected for a special anniversary celebration. We were then taken to the Oak room which was much micer. I asked why we started in the bar area as the restaurant was virtually empty at 5:30 pm? I got no answer!
As for the meal, the drinks were fine the waiter was nice the appetizers were very good except that when the artichoke was delivered I ask what was the condiment on the top. The waiter Adam said it was parmesan cheese. I began to take as much of it off telling Adam we don't eat cheese. The crab cocktail was the best. A bit later we were server our main meal which was veal for my wife server with some pasta, covered in cheese. My steak and scampi was server with a twice baked potato which I asked NOT to have because of the cheese. He didn't listen and served the twice baked anyway. When I complained he brought me a side of risotto which of course was smothered in "you guessed it cheese". All in all my wife liked her veal, but not the pasta. My steak was edible, but not worth anywhere near the $50 price. The 3 shrimp were better than the steak ever hoped to be. All in all the anniversary dinner was a bust. Adam did say "Happy Anniversary", but that didn't make up for his not listening to our no cheese requests that were ignored. We have been here before. This time we had business in Fresno, but elected to stay the night in Visalia so we could eat at the Vintage Press!
Very awesome restaurant atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious
Absolutely wonderful Easter Brunch with options even my kids loved. My husband enjoyed the Braised Lamb Shanks which were fall off the bone great! The rest of us enjoyed the opne faced omlette and the Chicken in Phyllo. The service and staff were great. Dustin is just the best waiter!
We enjoyed your Easter brunch very much. The service was impeccable and our food was delivered in a timely manner. Overall a great experience. We do feel the meal was a bit overprice at $39.99 a person. Perhaps including ice tea or coffee in the price would help a bit. An extra $10 for a glass of tea was a bit much. We love supporting our local restaurants and are happy you made it through the tough past year!
The service was slow, food took an hour to arrive. The server was nice, but she forgot to place one of our orders. The ambience was nice. Wasn’t too noisy at all. I ordered the halibut, it was mediocre. One of us ordered the duck, he said he was fantastic. The orange juice was fresh squeeze, that was a surprised plus!
We walked in listening to Frank Sinatra. It was like walking back in time with the music and the decor. The menu features dishes from the past. The only difference was the high prices. In my opinion, it is too expensive unless you want to experience the past.
On vacation- it was our “kick off” meal - and it did not disappoint!!!!
Went to the Vintage Press for my girlfriend’s birthday this past week and was quite underwhelmed. I will start by saying most of the food was wonderful. I had the New York steak which was done just to my liking and had a lot of flavor. Likewise, my girlfriend had the salmon which was superb. The twice baked potato was a big disappointment. I was in the mood for a good stuff baked potato and what I got on my plate was a lump of overdone potato that had little fixings inside. We did send the potato back and received another that was maybe a bit better, but still very far from good. They looked like something you would buy at Costco and pop in the microwave and was certainly NOT prepared in their kitchen.
The big letdown however was the service. For $50+ per plate, I expected a much higher level of service. We sat at our table for the better part of 15 minutes before the waitress took our drink order and then merely set them down and walked away. That continued throughout the meal as we literally had to flag her down to get any service from her. Not to knock the poor server, but the server training at this restaurant is apparently non-existent. She obviously had no clue what it means to be an attentive server in a higher end restaurant.
If you are looking for a nice restaurant in the area, I would highly suggest skipping this place and going to a good steakhouse in Fresno like Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris. I will certainly not be setting foot inside Vintage Press again…
Everything about my experience was so great. Our waiter was awesome very attentive and so professional, loved our waiter!!!!! Loved our seating location too, beautiful setting on Patio🎉🎊🎉Food very good too. Overall experience was outstanding!!!! Thank you
Food and service here is always amazing. Highly recommend, one of the best restaurants in Visalia.
Top notch as always. I’m always impressed with anything they have on the menu. Their cocktail menu has some interesting choices that take you back in time. I recommend the Sazerac.
Service was great. Three of us were having lunch and each of us enjoyed what we ordered. We will return.
Food was delicious, especially the french toast. The perfect place to go for a fancy brunch.
