The food was excellent and our table out on the patio was perfect. A little expensive for the small plates. The hanger steak was delicious but the four of us felt like we each needed to order one for ourselves since the portion was so small. It was quiet for a Thursday but very, very enjoyable. We'll definitely go back!

We are long-time Wente Restaurant customers and went there for lunch to check out the changes (remodel and menu). I will miss the “fanciness” of the original decor, but am in love with the new. It makes perfect sense to modernize and create a more casual and “social” ambience. The menu, as far as I know, is the same for lunch and dinner and our choices did not disappoint! We were actually very happy to see that Wente scaled back on their wine list, featuring Wente wines. Still is one of our favorite places to dine!

We have been here before and were looking forward to an outstanding experience. They have changed the menu and layout since we were last in the dining room. From white tablecloth to plain tables. First issue was the table conducting a staff meeting in louder voices. We could have gone outside, but my husband had had an eye exam so it was too bright. The waiter was a little slow, but knowledgeable about the menu. I asked about another variety of wine by the glass since their menu only listed two whites, extremely limited list. Ten minutes later be brought a glass but did not tell me what it was. The food was excellent! Loved the portions. We stopped him and asked to see a dessert menu which he had in his hand. Took him 10 minutes to come back for order. We then waited 20 minutes for strawberry shortcake (?) and finally left table and asked manager for our bill. He was very nice and offered his name and incentives to return. The waiter finally showed up after speaking with manager with dessert in hand, asking if we’d like it boxed. We declined, paid the bill, and will not return.

Updated menu has shareable dishes. Slightly more than tapas but less than a normal entree. I brought two business partners to dinner and it was a little awkward sharing dishes with each other. Not enough meat for a single portion. The service was good and the waitress made excellent wine suggestions.

Food is excellent! Service is wonderful.
Food is meant to share but tables aren’t really set up for that. Had to ask for serving spoons which helped.
Appreciate the option for flights of wine. Cocktails are creative and tasty. Something for everyone.
Will definitely return.

The day was beautiful with a nice balmy breeze. The setting on the patio was very pleasant and the service impeccable. She explained the menu of small plates to be shared and suggested an appetizer and so we shared the shrimp dish and the smoked pork tenderloin The pork was so tender and had a bourbon peach glaze which really complemented it. Oh we also we shared their French fries which we both decided were the best we had ever had. Slender and crunchy with aoli or a red sauce for dipping. My out of town guest was very impressed. We WILL go back.

Great food, excellent interior and outdoor design, fantastic waitstaff, fabulous wines. Highly recommended. The view is nice with the California mission style buildings, golden hills, and shady foliage. A little pricey, but worth it!

Missed the special feel of the former Wente restaurant. Food was superb, but servers seemed a little lost, slow for not being crowded. Attentiveness was awkward (felt pushy asking twice if we wanted a glass when only halfway through a flight, then not checking back as we did complete the drinks.) Mixed up wines, food coming to our table that wasn’t ours. The food we did order was wonderful, fresh, tasty. Just not that different from what you can find elsewhere, and very pricy. The patio ambiance is so enjoyable, I hope they fix the menu balance (not all shared plates) and reset service expectations.

We were so excited to check out the new menu and format at Wente. In fairness, Wente Restaurant was one of our favorites so expectations were high. The service was excellent, could not ask for better. Now that could be because the place was half empty, which might have been reason that service was superb but it me sad to see so many empty tables. Usually when places open, they are packed but that was not the case. I don't know how many people know about the Lounge opening as the only reason I knew was because of an e-mail received.

Now on to the important things like the food, wine and drinks. The wine was excellent (nth degree never disappoints) and the cocktails were also very good. The food was a bit of a mixed review; the cheese board was fine, nothing special, the Ahi Poke was very good and the hanger steak was delicious (should have had multiple orders) and the pork tenderloin was good. Portions as expected were very small so we had to end up ordering 2 items each and paid over $225 for two people (which included our membership wine discount). So cost was on par with what we used to spend for a nice dinner at Wente before transformation but the dining experience was not equal, not as special. They also did away with complimentary wine of glass with each paid meal for wine club members so that was a little disappointing but understand it was probably not cost effective. Hopefully, with a little time they will figure out how to make the new place more special and worthy of the $$$. I plan to give them another shot to see how things are progressing in the future, based on my past experiences with Wente they deserve another chance.

The food has gone downhill with the new concept. I used to love splashing out at Wente on a gourmet dinner with great wine pairings, but I’ll be looking elsewhere from now on. The best thing we ate on our recent visit was the cheese and charcuterie tray; all the other dishes were poorly executed, overworked, and had none of the finesse their past menu was known for. The only thing that might draw me back is if the lamb pastrami makes a reappearance...

Service was top notch. Our waiter Mark was knowledgeable and very specific on the food and its prep. He made the experience 10x better. Wife had the Poke and said it was amazing. Overall this place was more than I expected and my expectations were high based on prior visits. We will be coming back on a regular basis.

I really just love this new food and wine concept at Wente. Food is delicious and portions are perfect for sharing. The service is attentive without being in your face. Servers also give great recommendations. Inside and outside seating with shade and sun looking over the beautiful Wente grounds. LOVE IT!

Very disappointed. This used to be a favorite restaurant for a great meal, not just for special occasions, but when you wanted a quality, upscale night out. We went the other night and were quite pleased with the new bar area, looks beautiful and much bigger than before. We were very disappointed in the direction they decided to go with the small plates theme.....so overdone. My son had the ahi and said it wasn't any better than some of the places he normally goes to. I had the fried chicken with a salad on top. The fried chicken was thinly pounded and breaded with what I think was panko crumbs. Then it was covered with a sauce that just ruined everything. The sangria was really good though!!!! I hope they get their act together because as this point it was a real disappointment. I'll be going to Garre over the Vineyard Table.

I’d like to see a few more items on the menu. A few salads and additional vegetarian items. Our table ordered the shrimp appetizer (presentation could change to make it easier to share), the focaccia, a salad was shared and a salad was ordered as a main, the steak and the pork.

We were disappointed overall with our dining experience. The food was average and was too expensive for what it was. The portion of sea bass my husband had was small and overcooked. My pork chop was overly salted and swimming in greasy polenta. My daughter's pasta dish was only average and you could tell it was purchased dried pasta. We would not return, especially due to their high prices.

We booked a table for 8 on a Sat afternoon. Even though they close at 2pm (we could only book a table for the 1:45pm time slot), the service was perfect. The staff and waiters/waitresses are super professional and treated us very well, with a smile on the face. The food was delicious and so were the wines that accompanied each course. My friends from all over the bay said throughout the lunch that the restaurant is exquisite. I’ll definitely return and recommend for other friends.

Great prix fix menu with wonderful choices. Servers were very knowledgeable and let us enjoy each course without rushing us. Well trained staff that don't take away plates till all the diners are finished. This should be taught everywhere. No one takes plates away till every guest is finished if the party is at your house!
Wonderful setting for a most relaxing Saturday lunch.

Great meal with great service. For starters we had the cauliflower bisque and dungenness crab salad and for the main I had the smoked pork chop and my wife the roasted sea bass. My only nit pick was the amount of polenta - there was way too much and the sea bass was a little dry towards the thin end of the fillet. We split the flourless choclate cake for desert - nice touch with mint snow and coffee soil providing a little texture to the dish. Paired the bisque with the Savignon Blanc, the pork with the Riva Ranch Pinot Noir and had the port with desert. Throughly enjoyed the experince.

Had a very enjoyable wine pairing lunch with my sister over President's Day weekend. It is a prix fix menu -
for mains we had our choice of sea bass or filet mignon. While it is a bit pricey, the value for quality is there. Make sure to get reservations - this place fills up quickly on weekends.

The day started at the winery with a tasting, hosted by Grady our wine educator. He provided an exceptional tasting experience and we joined the wine club. Grady recommend the restaurant at the vineyard for dinner and we made reservations. Our server at the restaurant was also fantastic! Unfortunately we couldn’t remember her name, but she had fantastic nails with her dogs painted on them!!! We had the tartare, cauliflower soup, and wagu steak! Everything was delicious, the entire Wente experience from start to finish exceed our expectations! We will back, very soon!!
