The Vineyard Rose at South Coast Winery Ratings and Reviews
Service was very friendly, but it took a long time to get our food. One of the omelets we ordered did not have cheese in it as ordered. We ended up sprinkling some on top. When the manager asked about our food, we were up front about the wait time and the lack of cheese in the omelet. An apology was offered, but that was it.
Great selection for wine, more than most places. We would go back for the wine, but not so much for the food.
The food and service from the restaurant staff was great, however the hostesses were difficult to reach and I called twice to move my reservation around 10 am and no one answered. It was stressful to not be able to get in touch especially because I had something come up last minute and I was not able to confirm my change until right before the original time. The food was delicious and the server was super helpful and the wine was delicious. I would definitely go again!
Went at the end of a long day, looking for snack, not a full dinner. Server seemed not happy, even though restaurant not full. Beautiful space and good music in the bar. My clam chowder was great, but awful Caesar salad. Limp greens and too much dressing, even though I asked for light dressing. Worst part is that server asked how I liked my salad, but then walked away without any response when I tried to explain why it wasn’t great. Don’t ask if you don’t want to know. Expensive and wouldn’t go back for this food/ attitude.
It was my first time going to this restaurant. The food , ambience , our waiter were all fantastic.
My husbands birthday was the event. He still lives in the SF bay area, so we had to grab something before he hit the road back up. He loved the decor and his brunch. Nice way to start the day!
We stayed at South Coast and had our 21st anniversary dinner at the Vineyard Rose. They had Rose Petals spread on our table for our special occasion and the staff was very attentive but not distracting. The food was great my wife had the filet and absolutely loved it. I had the prime rib cooked to perfection. Would deffinately recommend for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
Our server Sean was great and had amazing recommendations and suggestions for substitutions. We chose to sit outside and it was cafeteria like from my point of view maybe I had the wrong seat... maybe you go for lunch so you have the sunlight for the view. My opinion the place needs some love... some investment for the price point. We were there for a birthday celebration and the “gratis” desert ... don’t bother. I would happily pay for the Creme Brulle next time :))
We were very impressed. Great staff from the hostess, us man and waitstaff. Beautiful, comfortable booth. I hav food allergies, and we wanted to split a salad. My hubby likes Caesar, but I can’t to the anchovies. Our waitress suggested we split a Caesar, but each get a different dressing. Brilliant. We both had steaks, which were cooked perfectly. We ordered 2012 bottle of Justification, and had it decanted. Great wine choices. Pricey, yes, but you more than get what you pay for. We would recommend Rose to anyone who wants a great dining experience. Thanks everyone.
Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We had a very pleasant conversation with the manager. What an improvement in the quality of our meal from when we first visited back in April. The new chef obviously cares about the quality of his cuisine. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
I took my girlfriend to The Vineyard Rose for her birthday, and all aspects of our dining experience were excellent. The ambience was romantic with a classy vibe, and there was a pianist playing some great classic songs. It was relatively quiet, which allowed us to have more intimate conversation. The service was top-notch; our server was very attentive, polite and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed and that we had the best experience possible. Lastly, the food was absolutely delicious. We both ordered the ribeye, medium-rare, and each steak was cooked perfectly to our preferences. I would highly recommend The Vineyard Rose for a date, anniversary, or any special occasion where you want a nice, romantic atmosphere.
My wife and I arrived early in the evening (around 6:pm) sot the restaurant was not at all busy. We decided to enjoy happy hour before our dinner which technically made of late for our reservation, the staff was very accommodating and let us relax while we finished our wine and calamari appetizer (which was very good). When I received my dinner order, I had to send it back because it was cold. My waitress was very accommodating and rushed me out a new order.
Over all I like this restaurant, the food is very good and the staff is very professional. I do however think that the price of the dinner is rather excessive.
Disappointing. I've been here quite a few times and have always been satisfied so I recommended to my friend I who was buying dinner for me. I had the grilled swordfish. It was very dried out and fishy tasting. Asparagus was dried out and tasted like it had been cooked yesterday. Definitely not worth 44 dollars. I feel bad that my friend spent so much money on this terrible food.
Restaurant itself is nice. My friend's pasta was great, but my filet was overcooked. I debate whether or not to send food back, but figured because of the cut, it might be ok (New York steak or Ribeye, no way). To make up for the mistake, the restaurant cut the price of the steak in half and gave us a free desert.
Can't say enough...It was my 70th Birthday, I just had Prostate Surgery (Cancer gone, at least for now), also just got out of the hospital from a bought with a Kidney Stone, Sepsis, Renal Failure...etc...I just got out of the Hospital on 30 August 2017; I needed a GREAT Prime Rib and atmosphere with great service. I/we (my wife of 30 years) got just that...Thank you...r/JOHN...aka The LEGEND...
Each summer, we drive out to Temecula wine country from Orange County for a couple nights at South Coast Winery and Carter Estates. The rooms are lovely and priced right. We always enjoy a dinner at Vineyard Rose on one of the evenings. This year, there were 6 of us at a round table, which worked very well for visiting in this quiet dining room. But, this is the first year that I have been disappointed with my meal. I think the other 5 did enjoy their dinners which included pasta dishes and pork chops. I ordered the prime rib, rare. It arrived pink and warm, but very dry and my husband (who is a gourmet cook at home and a former restaurant manager) agreed that this piece of meat had been sitting somewhere in the kitchen for some time. We sat down at 7:00 pm, fairly early, so it should have been juicy and appealing if it had been prepared that evening. My dinner was deducted from the bill without my even asking and I will definitely return to this restaurant as it is the nicest dinner house in the Temecula wine country. But, I will ask a few more questions before I select my entre. We all did enjoy our various salads and the creme brûlée for dessert was quite good.
Was the highlight of my anniversary great restaurant great atmosphere great staff and above all excellent food the attention to detail at me and my girlfriend experience was Bar None the best restaurant experience I've ever had would highly recommend it for anniversaries birthdays or special occasions thank you for making my weekend even more magical
Very nice ambience. Superb food, mediocre at best service. Had the beef rib dinner which was very tasty. rib portion size was perfect, seasoned well and flavorful, the sauce did not overpower the rib for taste. Polenta was done the way I like it creamy and rich flavor. Side of spinach was sauteed perfectly. Food was superb. Service was not so good. Waiter was not attentive and went for long periods without him checking on us. Had to ask for bread to be delivered to the table.
