Serving drinks, food and merriment since its establishment in 1836, The Vine Inn is an original gastropub, much before the term became trendy in big-city bars. The Vine Inn, in close cooperation with local farmers, specialised in fresh fish and game, although vegetarians are well-catered to, too, with plenty of a la carte choices and daily changing specials.

It was our first visit to The Vine Inn. valentine's Day was probably not the ideal time to get first impressions as the staff were very busy and the place was packed. Couldn't fault the food, it was excellent. The service was a bit slow and we had to ask a second time for our second drinks when they hadn't been delivered to the table. At the end of our meal, we had to get up and put our coats on to leave because we were getting fed up with waiting for our bill. We will definitely be back to sample the food again at a quieter time, so we can get a proper impression of the place.
