  • Good for special occasions
  • Neighborhood gem
Welcome to casual waterfront dining at its best. Yes, we have a stunning waterfront location overlooking the Currituck Sound, but our goal is to be a great restaurant that just happens to have a great view. From casual, familiar fare to elevated, creative originals, we offer something for everyone. Our menu includes crave-worthy appetizers, fresh salads, inspired sandwiches, creatively prepared local seafood, and scratch-made desserts. To complement our food, we serve local and international craft beers, an exceptional selection of wines, and craft cocktails that capture the essence of a seaside tavern. For a special occasion or a casual bite after a day at the beach, The Village Table & Tavern is THE gathering place for family and friends in Duck.

Overall it was a lovely experience. We had a lovely view of the sunset over the sound. Service was a tad bit slow but our server was very nice. The food and drinks were good.

We ate at bar as no tables available til afterv8pm on a Friday night. Definitely make reservations. Service was excellent, food was great although no Andouie sausage in shrimp & grits was a little disappointing. $38 for one crab cake is too high-it was large & delicious

Overall, it was a good experience. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and our server gave a great recommendation—the hush puppies were a standout, especially with the pepper jam. The seafood chowder was just okay, and the Caesar salad didn’t quite justify the price—not bad, but nothing special. The ribeye was the special of the day; while the flavor was decent, it was overcooked (we ordered medium-rare and received medium). Given the high ratings, I think I was expecting a bit more from the food. We still had a positive experience overall—just not a “wow” one.

Cocktails were bad and food was boring especially for the price.

My wife and I slipped away from the family vacation to enjoy a late dinner at 7:30pm. The overall temperature in the restaurant had to have been 85 degrees with both staff and customers complaining about the heat. We waited around an hour for our food for two of us (which was great, compliments to the chef), and the host even came around and apologized for the wait. I’m not sure the value was there considering how sweaty my wife and I were by the time we had finished our food. I’m not the type of person to ever ask for a comped anything, but given the wait and heat inside the place it would have been nice to have an extra cold drink sent to the table. At least that’s what I would have done in their shoes.

The food was AMAZING!!!! Servers & staff were so friendly! The view was outstanding!! This will be a new regular for us!!! Highly recommend getting the double decker key lime pie - 1000/10! We got the wild boar meatloaf, shrimp n grits, roasted chicken and new york strip steak. Everything was outstanding - not a single complaint!

Delicious dinner to celebrate Father's Day. We enjoyed entrees of 6 bone rack of lamb, Pork Shank, and the Porterhouse steak special. It was all delicious. Expansive drink menu and also great options for kids. Recommend this for families or couples looking for a great meal with a great sound view.
