My Favorite restaurant, and it's in my neighborhood,
The menu changes and is a bit limited on the entrees
but as a result you will find some 'odd" but good entrees.

Desserts are tremendous!!

Always Spectacular
You can always count on the Village Pub for a spectacular evening. Both the food and service is superb, and the wine list is extensive. We dined for the 2nd seating on NYE, which can often be a challenging evening. They pulled everything off really well. The room was festively decorated, they brought in a fun band, and they were able to keep the service flowing all night long.

While service is very attentive, the pork loin entree was dry, and the menu overall limited. The lighting is SO subdued that we actually wished we could SEE our food --we'd prefer a bit more light, if only to better appreciate the aesthetics of the food. The duck and bavette beef was very good.

Sad. This was our go to place for special occasion dining and we showed up on time for dinner and were placed in the over flow area for our meal. We sat alone looking at everyone else eating in the main dining area. Both of us were dressed to impress with a blazer and nice outfits.

I was also disappointed in the food options with much smaller portions this time.

Not sure we will be back anytime soon.

Amazing dining experience worthy of its Michelin star. We had the Christmas Eve menu so can't say much about the normal menu, but the wine list is exceptional, and the food is an exceptionally well crafted and succulent experience from the amuse bouche to the appetizer to the main courses and dessert.

The Pub is my favorite going out for a special occasion restaurant. This ti,e we were there for a holiday birthday lunch. We couldn't resis and both had the chicken salad. It's not chickensalad, ot's a lovely salad with a wonderful fried chicken breast hidden underneath. I almost had the soup — their soups are incredibly delicious and inventive — but the old favorite called and I responded as did. Y companion. Yummy, of course and elegant. It's a place to dress up for.

wish my duck confit was as good as porridge king....my lunch partner‘s chicken salad greens were lovely but the chicken breast was the texture of sawdust.

Really y‘all, what‘s happened to u? Even the beignets were sub-par....some dark, others light!

Coffee was lovely, although interested in lack of espresso. Loved the stainless steel straw!

The worst part is that my waiter exclaimed that the duck was best thing on menu....think y‘all r more of a steak frites place with some good greens.

I know you won‘t miss me; i had hoped to wow my friend who‘s from woodside and just moved back here. Wowing didn‘t happen.

The Village Pub has a warm, cozy ambiance during the holidays. They made my wife's birthday dinner extra special by baking her favorite cake. A perfect evening.

Sadly the Village Pub has really declined over the last few years. The food is average at best, the service is not very attentive and the tables are so close together that it is difficult to get out and walk to the restroom or to the front door. The prices are outrageous for the quality - it used to be one of our favorite spots on the Peninsula, not any more!!

Our server Sarah J was horrible! The food was decent but not worth the commute, price, time when there are much better competition out here in the bay area. We waited over an hour for our drinks at one point. The service was extremely slow and I am unsure if it was the servers first day on the job but she had no idea what was on the menu or why my bill was marked up and just replied I don’t know, and try to grab my card and just pay for it without an explanation. I️ was extremely disappointed because I had taken my friend here for her birthday.

Went to Village Pub for brunch on a Sunday. It was my wife birthday and the entire experience was wonderful. Very easy access (a block from 280), convenient parking lot in the back (off Whiskey Hill Road). As soon as we got in the staff wished my wife a happy birthday. The restaurant is nice, cozy and was half empty. Service was excellent. Waiter was prompt, friendly and receptive to all our requests. The food was delicious (had couple appetizers (salad and soup), lobster Benedict, my wife the bavette with hashbrowns, + side of bacon that was gigantic, beignets, hash potatoes). Cocktails and champagne were top notch (they had a banana mimosa, which I did not try) although a bit overpriced. I was concerned it would be too fancy or stuffy (keep reading about VC people dining there) but for brunch it was very casual yet still elegant. They brought a plate with happy birthday drawn in chocolate with little treats and candles. Nice touch. My favorite item: The levain bread gently kept warm in their traditional fireplace. I would definitely go back for a special occasion Sunday brunch.

My main problem with the restaurant was the service. I've never eaten in a michelin starred restaurant that didn't clean up the crumbs after the meal. Furthermore, I had to ask the waiter 3 times to bring my guest coffee. He was asked when ordering dessert, reminded again and finally I had to raise my voice so he'd hear me after the dessert. The salmon that I ordered was tiny at best, good for 3/4 bites but cooked perfectly. My check for lunch for 5 was $400. The raw fish appetizer was excellent and so was the portion. The glass of wine for $16 or $18 was a short pour. I probably won't go back. Boulevard is a better bet for this price.

Opentable had a bug where I received a confirmation for a 12:15 reservation but it subsequently saved and transmitted it as 12:45.

Service was slower than usual but the main room was much busier than normal for sunday brunch for some reason, so this wasn't too surprising to me.

Noted an allergy on the reservation and reiterated it to the server upon ordering, however, food was brought out with obvious allergens. Servers should check the food for allergens before service, the dish clearly had croutons on it and there was a gluten allergy.

I eat there quite often for lunch with my partner. We have always had first class service but this time with the delays from water to bread to not even identifying the cheeses we were served; this is not the Village Pub I know. My tip should have gone to the wine steward who was, as usual, perfect.

Try the truffle infused omelet/scramble (if special that day)

My wife loves their steaks

I roam the menu

This time I had very little ambition and had the expensive truffle eggs ... and the pub hamburger

One drink for me, champagne and glass of red for my beautiful wife

$400 to get out the door for party of 2 ... if you are looking to impress your wife/girlfriend/partner, you can't go wrong with the ambiance here ...

We had an excellent time. It had been a year or so since we had been to the Village Pub, and frankly we had forgotten how good the food was and the high skill level of the staff. Everything was great and they did a marvelous job of adapting the pace of the meal to the tempo of our table.
