The Village Pub
Fabulous as usual!!! Food and service never disappoint!
Fantastic, as always! The sweet corn mezzaluna pasta was divine.
Always the best in Silicon Valley dining.
We were all very impressed with the outstanding service, food presentation, and the attention to detail, not to mention that the food was very tasty! We highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was exceptional! The service was not what you expect from a Michelin Stared Restaurant. We waited a long time after being seated for wine service. When our salads and entrees were delivered, they were served to the wrong persons. We also waited an inordinate amount of time for our dessert to be taken.
One person in our party only drinks white wine. She wished to order by the glass but there were only three by the glass choices. Two were $36 a glass. One was less but something she did not care for.
The restaurant was very busy and anyplace can have an off night. We will go back for the food but sadly feel Village Pub will loose their Star if the service is not improved.
In addition to predictably excellent food, the personnel are uniformly outstanding--knowledgeable, friendly, and just a joy to interact with.
Excellent food and service. Crazy prices even for Silicon Valley. Great cocktails.
Great time at the Pub. Celebrated a birthday and everything from the food, wine, and service was top notch. It was our first time dining there and will not be our last. Parking was easy to find and the menu was well prepared. We enjoyed everything from start to finish. Will be back soon!
Great dependable local fine dining. Cocktails are always great as was the chocolate soufflé. Excellent service.
My wife and I have dined at the Village Pub numerous times over the past 12 years. In recent weeks, I have shifted my eating approach to veganism; knowing the Village Pub's focus on proteins - and their notable success in preparing them, especially salmon and their remarkable ribeye steak special (dry aged and prepared sous vide; $115, but quite worth it) - I entered into our most recent Village Pub visit with concerns and fears that a vegan dinner would be at best underwhelming. Although I was reassured by the restaurant staff (and in particular our waiter, Eric; our favorite waitperson, Melody, had the evening off) that the Village Pub makes all efforts to accommodate diners' requests, to say that my dining experience was disappointing would be quite the understatement. Both dishes I ordered, vegan versions of two specials, were unacceptable; although I ordered the heirloom tomato salad without the burrata, it came with the cheese and had to be prepared anew without, and for the price of $18, a five-tomato-slice portion was less than satisfying. In truth, I could have done a considerably better job with this at home in my own kitchen. I should add here that when a couple at a neighboring table ordered the same dish, it came on a cart and was prepared tableside, basil, seasoning, and olive oil added on the spot by their waitperson. Why was I not offered such a dramatic approach? And then the vegan version of the special pasta (a thin fresh pasta - containing eggs, with I conceded to accept despite my diet - with shaved black truffles), which I knew would lack the cheese, cream, and butter (although I was assured that the chef would provide ample substitutions), was perhaps one of the most pathetic and disappointing dishes I have tasted in any restaurant - dry overcooked pasta with truffles atop, no oil or seasoning whatsoever. I of course sent this back and received a consolation prize, an OK bulgar wheat risotto. To be fair, my wife's dinner was fully on point.
Amazing restaurant! The food is soo good and the service is amazing, you can’t go wrong when going here!
As always, our dinner at VP was excellent; service was helpful and educated without being overbearing or smothering. The food was, and always is sublime.
As one of the few dining rooms where there's a tolerable mix of casual attire and refined tradition, VP still seems to manage to keep people from wearing baseball caps or other headwear in the dining room, and for that I am thankful. I always wear a jacket and slacks, but some choose to come in after work with jeans and more casual attire - and that's fine. Thankfully, no bros in shorts and caps. And that's as big a part of this experience as the creative and superlative food and its preparation.
It was ok. It seemed very busy for one waiter to service the afternoon crowd.
Presentation and taste of fried chicken salad was a bit strange. Salmon looked nice and I heard tasted good. Portion was a little small given price point.
We always love the Village Pub. The food is consistently good and the Sommeliers are very knowledgeable. The service on this visit was unfortunately less attentive than usual. Not sure if this is an expansion problem or just a one-off experience.
I made reservation of this restaurant after I have been looked for many restaurant for my boyfriend bday. it was my first time there and I would love to say “ Excellent service “ I like to go and try the new experience especially food and service of restaurant that I never been to as well. I really impressed here so much. the food was awesome! the bread was so good. the end of my great dinner night was so good!! Omg! I couldn’t believe that we were really full after dinner, but we cannot left and stop to ate Chocolate mousse cake with ice-cream. it was soooo good. usually I didn’t like Chocolate cake at all, but this one made me forget about that lol^-^! if who looking for date night dinner or romantic dinner with awesome food, drinks, service. I would love to recommend this place as well. you will not disappointed. :)
I would love to come back again soon.
Thank you so much for great service and delicious food. it was a great bday dinner ever. ^^
It is always a treat to stop at The Village Pub for dinner.
Absolutely delicious food, friendly but professional service. My new "go to" for special occasions.
Lovely! Truly, everything was perfect, the service, the food, the wine! We loved it!
Service here is always excellent. No wait for a last-minute birthday celebration. Atmosphere is elegant but casual.
The location is quite nice in the hills. The vegetarian food was not that great.
This visit was disappointing. Both entrees were barely warm and lacked flavor. The server claimed that they were so delicious and amazing. We took her advice and the entree’s were average at best for the restaurant’s reputation and price point. Even our chocolate soufflé was not up to the usual high standard. It was undercooked. The middle was extremely heavy and tasted like wet brownie batter.
Food not up to par for the cost. High quality but not much flavor.
We took several clients for a late dinner on a Sunday night and had a great experience with perfect service. I had a beautiful lobster tagliatelle and a lemon tart for dessert.
Been to village pub a number of times. We brought our friends from Hong Kong there for dinner. The restaurant maintained the standard of food and services. Feel good to be back.
Always enjoy this restaurant which pays attention to every detail. Great service, food, cocktails and wine list. A true gem.
Great experience as usual as the Pub. No better restaurant in the area!
The Lobster Benedict was sublime! Village Pub never disappoints!
Delicious restaurant for a romantic night out. I enjoyed the Lobster bisque and scallops!
Great lunch! Saturday at the small outdoor patio which is very quiet. All three of us ordered the cheeseburger, which is the best in the Bay Area. Tony, our server, was very friendly, efficient, and there when we needed him. All in all, a great lunch!
Our Sommelier / waitress was fabulous! She was knowledgeable, warm and friendly. It felt like a good friend was serving you in her own home.
Great food - had been here before, but this time was very totally impressed, the best beignets we have ever had, the veal cooked just right with Fleur de Sel sprinkled, the juicy, sweet lobster... boy😋😋😋
Amazing. Everything is outstanding including cocktails. Will be back soon
My Birthday dinner was terrific! The soft shelled crab was a special treat! Melody is a great server and is delightful! Thank you for the booth on the side of the dining room in order to converse. Every aspect was perfect. The $ increased by $100 over last year. Interesting.
Having been to the Village Pub before, this was the first time I had a meal there that was not worth the money. It was the Father's Day Brunch Prix Fixe menu. And while I'd expect small portions at an expensive restaurant, I was expecting a lot more quality for the vegetarian entrees available. While I was excited that there were actually two vegetarian options, as I recall only seeing one in the past, both entrees were lackluster and incredibly simple and without much flavor. The salad and dessert were fantastic, but if the entree can't deliver then I would rather pass. Especially at that price. The meat dishes the others in my party had were apparently good. But if you are a vegetarian or would be bringing vegetarians with you, I would look elsewhere. Disappointing.
I felt the pre-fix was fairly limited and for the price, the options were not high value ingredients that would warrant the cost. I basically got a lettuce salad to start, entree of eggs with toast and a dessert for $80. The entree should have included more such as bacon or a scramble with classic optional ingredients. The food tasted good of a chef's standard, but not enough to warrant the price. The kids plates were also disappointing. My daughter ordered spaghetti and they only had cheese and butter options for $20. And, the dish was not flavorful or anything special. The server was nice, but could have been more attentive. The ambiance and location is nice.
Village Pub is my favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The food and service is impeccable. Everyone that I introduce to this restaurant, has the same sentiment.
Without doubt, best restaurant in the valley
Very good as usual, but the maitre’d (2) were oddly stand offish. They didn’t open the door for say, barely said good bye (nod) or say “thanks please come again”. Reputations are only as good as what you are doing today!
We loved our meal ... multiple choices for each of us, and that’s sometimes hard as my wife is a vegetarian. The service was also great - the waiter, sommelier, and staff were attentive and not over the top. Really a terrific night out.
