Really lovely service and excellent food. Burger was perfect and requested niçoise sandwich converted to salad was happily and beautifully accommodated. Such a wonderful local gem.
We had 5:30 reservations for a birthday dinner, just two of us. Requested "standard" seating which wound up being in the back mostly enclosed patio room. The ambiance was very pleasant and the heaters provided much warmth -- enough to be comfortable in short sleeves. The waiter was very personable and explained the restaurant had been very busy all day. Wine was served before we placed our dinner order for potato leek soup, lettuce salad with red wine vinaigrette, roasted salmon and ahi. We ordered Parker House rolls separately -- $5 for two rolls with a side of butter. All the food was delicious. A second glass of wine came when we were 3/4 of the way through dinner, which was mildly disappointing. I didn't pay the bill, but I think at least one dessert was complimentary. We would definitely return and would definitely recommend.
Had a business lunch indoors. The booths had glass to separate, which helped with noise and COVID comfort. Beautiful place. Super friendly service.
We would have liked to seen a real wood fireplace. We were disappointed. Also a better breakfast menu
Good quality and freshness was extraordinary! We were seated in the back patio which was less crowded and extremely well ventilated.
We continue to go back.
A lovely place for brunch! We thoroughly enjoyed it!
Beautiful night and good food. The service was good but not great this time around. But it was the end of the day so .....
Just lovely. Very nice waiter. Loved it Food was excellent.
What a delightful restaurant. I invited colleagues for a business lunch. It was a perfect ambiance. Thank you.
Lovely staff, excellent ambiance, and delicious food!
We were seated in a nice, quiet room and were lucky enough to be seated next to another couple with whom we had an enjoyable conversation. The waiter was excellent but obviously overworked, probably due to shortage of help the industry is experiencing. Food was excellent, although my salmon was not quite as rare as I wanted - they were very nice to replace it. In general one of our favorite places.
It was meeting a good friend after long and worth it
We had an early lunch when they opened at 11:00am on a week day. We sat outside (in the front patio) and it was quite good. I had the pear and walnut salad and the person I was with had the salmon salad-both excellent. Highly recommend.
Excellent on all levels. Wait staff and talented bartender made it perfect
This is my favorite place to be when I come home for a visit.
It’s always a toss of if I go for the burger or the steak -both are Ammazziinng… 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Till next time 🍀
The place was pretty filled up due to the rain. We enjoyed the brunch and the food is great like usual. The service is consistently attentive, I tried the pancake which was very different than the normal restaurant style, very soft in the inside consist a very thick layer. The fried chicken sandwich was great as a substitution for the full fried chicken choice. This is a great place to come and enjoy a relaxed brunch.
Welcoming accomodating staff. Not too chatty waiter who spaced out our courses per our request!
We always love the food at Woodside Bakery. It’s consistent and delicious. We had Caesar salads, a burger & the chicken pot pie. The Pinot & mulled wine were very good. My lemon drop was not the best, just ok. The hostess was pretty rude when we came in prior to our reservation to move our table inside. Later, we called and she was able to squeeze us in early which was much appreciated. Kindness goes a long way though, especially at the front of the house. The other host - a young man, was just great. Funny and helpful.
The service was spotty, but kind and to be fair each of the two waiters had 12 tables which is a lot. Too many for one person.
Our cocktails and coffee’s never arrived and we were charged double for one of our cocktails (always check your bill). It was all taken care of in the end and our coffee’s were on the house which was good. 20% gratuity is charged no matter how large your party is. This is not the norm, but these are tough times. We prefer to tip on service and always do.
The bathrooms were out of TP and seat covers as well… All being said…
We would def return as it was festive for the holidays and really good food.
Some aspects were lovely, some aspects were chaotic / disappointing.
Would try again, but didn't totally live up to my high hopes.
I ordered the salmon dish and while it was tasty, found it raw UK n the middle. Only ate part
The Village Bakery is a lovely spot for lunch or dinner. There is a lot of outdoor seating. The food is good. The menu is not expansive, but is certainly fine.
A little overpriced for what we got. The 20% tip is automatically added no matter how small/big your party size is. They added up the food and tip then taxed on both..?
Beautiful setting even if it was freezing out- the heaters helped! The French onion soup was fabulous and the New York was cooked to perfection- I think the best steak I’ve had in a long time. Such a quaint restaurant with great food. Highly recommend
On a freezing night the staff made sure we were warm under a heater lamp. Our waiter went out of his way to provide top notch service. Always delicious food. A neighborhood gem.
I often make arrangements to celebrate birthdays here because the staff is normally so warm and welcoming. In the past they have often provided a celebratory note for the guest of honor. A very nice touch. Must be the busy holiday season because my last visit there was no note and we got a dessert to celebrate my friends birthday, but it was brought without a candle. The waiter did comp the dessert (very nice, but not the main point). Other than my disappointment on the more personal touches the kale & quinoa salad is fantastic, and the spiced prawns are a perfect accompaniment!
Food was good but service was very bad. 1 waiter for about 30 tables and very long wait time. Difficult for a family with children.
Hot spot in old woodside. With the new outdoor seating, the Village Bakery has really expanded access for a lot of people. Service was amazing - great recommendations. Food was delicious (I had the chicken sandwich which was delish). Only issue was parking. With all the expanded outdoor seating, parking has become a challenge. Took about 15 minutes of driving around to settle in - so plan ahead ;-)
The place is great, the best brunch in the area by far. Lunch and dinner are always good. Service is always personal and quality
Pleasant but so expensive for what you get.
Delicious brunch options with very attentive servers, always happy with experience here
Great place to eat great food with kids.
music is too loud! outside speakers & loud music are annoying. several car alarms going off during our dinning experience, combined with the loud annoying music did not enhance the experience.
lovely location for lunch. Outdoor patio comfortable. Food and service very good.
Another great meal at Village Bakery and Cafe! The food is always great, and the service was equally good. The tables are well-spaced, so my guests and I felt very comfortable dining there.
Very attentive and pleasant staff. Great food as well!
One of my fav places! Everything in the menu is good- good ambiance- luv location!
Service was excellent. Food is okay. The French toast is kind of odd-looking and lonely on a plate with no garnish. Some fruit would be a good addition - for esthetics and taste. For example sliced strawberries or tangerine segments. Simple to do. Same with eggs Florentine- while delicious, they were kind of lonely on the plate. A bit of arugula perhaps?
Service was quick and friendly. Food was good and fresh but the iced tea is terrible, do not waste your money.
Nice place for outdoor dining.
