Our server was amazing. I don’t quite remember his name but he was a ex-Marine. He came to check in on us multiple times without being intrusive. Great service and attentive, and truly made it a very memorable experience for us!
Such an amazing place for any occasion
Very polite server. Speedy service I like that you include a 20 percent tip as part of the bill
The waitstaff were friendly, helpful & quick! And it was a HOT day!! My friend & I enjoyed the Margerum Rose from Santa Barbara(2019) and we shared the avocado toast appetizer. I highly recommend it. $17 is steep, but it's on their homemade bread & they really piled on the avocado! The calabrian chiles and the kumquats were a nice touch, too! We also split the seasonal Asparagus pizza and this was very good too! Overall a great dining experience. I'd go back!
The meal was delicious and the service was excellent,
As usual, we were not disappointed! Excellent on every level, this is still one of our favorite places. Thank you all for making our meal fun and special!
Always a good experience
Service and food outstanding; parking over the 12-1PM time is impossible; prices are unsurprisingly (for the Woodside location) very high.
Super nice terrace, great food and good service. Very pleasant dinner!
Experience was fine. Open Table reviewed our check an there was an extra charge added of $40.40 without explanation? I am going to call to find out what this was for? We had a gift card if $50.00 which was deducted.
Delicious baked goods and good brunch items served amazingly even while busy.
I mentioned casually that it was my friend's birthday and the waiiter served a lovely dessert.
The food, the service, the ambience on a warm summer night were just divine.
The Village Bakery knows how to set a table!
The food was delicious! Relaxing atmosphere and one thing better than the next.
Lovely atmosphere, menu somewhat limited but very good, cocktail menu was extensive. Restaurant includes 20% service charge but we added more tip for the excellent waiter, Francisco.
Amazing place!! We are regular customers. Great ambiance, great food and outstanding service. We are lucky to live only 5 min away.
Parking in that are is very bad, need to leave lots of extra time just to find a spot somewhere in the area.
Great food and service
Outdoor dining is noisy. Salads are very good. So are the omelettes.
Love the back room. Open air but protected. Waiter was outstanding, We had so much fun with him. From arrival to leaving we had a wonderful meal and service. Highly recommend
Excellent food and lunch service. Lovely backyard patio. It was a bit windy so the heat lamps didn't warm very much, but that's outdoor dining for you. All around a lovely meal.
We had a wonderful time - all staff was very attentive - food was served quickly and piping hot.
Excellent food and even more excellent service person!
It was great to be outdoors, and found this placer with many tables full. Parking was hard. We have eaten there twice in a couple of weeks, and both times the food was fine, but not overwhelming, especially for the price. For lunch I had a bowl of soup, shared an order of side vegetable, had a seltzer was (from the bar-not the Voss), and a cappacino, and my bill was over$50. They automatically add a 20% tip, but the service was pleasant and I would have left that anyway. But soup, half a side of veggies, and two non-alcoholic drinks for $50 just seemed high, even though it was outside. Probably won't come back on my own. I would recommend only for being outdoors.
Ambiance was fantastic. Crew was great & friendly. Definitely will be back
Excellent food and a great environment on the back patio.
Great view and ambiance! Just not sure about the mandatory 20% service fee . Understand that business nowadays can be short-handed due to the pandemic but service can be compromised even more when workers don’t have the incentive.
Decent food overall. Burger was awesome. Service is very mediocre.
Heard this was a sister restaurant of the sadly closed Mayfield Cafe In Palo Alto. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. I do object to paying $4 for a side of “blueberries” which turned out to be 1.5 tablespoons of compote. Will go back but watch out for upcharges.
We went to Village Bakery for a post-graduation dinner. The atmosphere was very nice and the food was good.
As always, a great place to dine outside. The food and atmosphere were great.
The pour on my glass of rose was so slight which was annoying. And the week prior I had the asparagus salad and it had nice large croutons. This time they put like a few crouton crumbs, not nearly as good. The service also was not attentive, we waited like 5 minutes after our main course came to get silverware.
We very much enjoyed our lunch
They lost some space in the parking lot so the tables are a lot closer together now, but still wonderful to sit outside. Our waiter and service was wonder as usual. Food came out fast and was exceptional!
The pancakes are worth the trip on their own. Some of the more savory dishes occasionally are under-seasoned, but the great service and ambiance totally make up for it.
This was the perfect brunch spot .Service was outstanding ! We will be back
The food was excellent. Latte was great! The server took great care of us. We will definitely go back.
The Village Bakery is in the small, bucolic town of Woodside. The restaurant is located in a nondescript brown strip mall between a tennis shop and another restaurant. They've currently got a large outdoor eating area which is pleasant even if its in the parking lot. Many of the dishes are extremely well done, but some are just overwrought and the diner is left bewildered at what they were thinking. For instance the pancakes and French toast were excellent, but the bakery burger was a mess of incoherent flavors that, frankly, made me wish I got a Quarter Pounder from McDonalds. Overall, the food was well prepared and thoughtfully made.
I wish the same could be said for the staff. When we arrived for brunch the restaurant had just opened, but they still hadn't setup any of the tables. More guests came, and they were still setting up the tables. A queue formed. Finally, about 15 minutes after the restaurant official opened the tables were finished and those in line were hopefully of being seated. Nope. The hostesses were oblivious to the guests and stood at their desk talking to each other. When the guests mutinied and stormed into reception desk, the hostess would then try to seat them. But they were so disorganized they couldn't find reservations, bristled at the customers who were irritated at having to stand in a line for no reason, and were bafflingly inept at actually deciding which table to use when ALL of them were empty. Fortunately, our waiter was good, prompt and helpful. The wait staff calmed down the guests that the hostess staff frustrated.
Overall, our dining experience was a mix of frustration, bewilderment, and "hey, try this, it's really good!"
Polite servers but 2nd wine order was forgotten. When if finally arrived 20 minutes or so it was on the house
We had brunch with our friends, everything was delicious and the staff were great! Either outside or indoor dining/brunch you can get there. The staff does not make you rush to eat and go. Perfect for a weekend brunch! The only thing they should expand their menu with more ommelette and toasts.
