Phenomenal early birthday dinner tonight ! Fantastic service with incredible views of the lake. The ribeye steak was perfectly seasoned and prepared medium rare, served with a complimentary salad with house made dressing . All was delicious, including the seafood fritters and the Clam & Crab Puttanesca 😋 So stuffed!
The View is a delightful restaurant with a lovely perch at Dunham's Bay. Allie was our charming server on the early Sunday afternoon that we stopped in for dinner. She cheerful attended to our needs and the other two tables seated. We beat the evening crowd and thereby scored a window table as the daylight waned. A bowl of the seasonal pumpkin curry soup, salads, and plates of a generously-sized pork schnitzel and tastefully-delicious grilled mahi-mahi were well-prepared and with appropriate accompaniments. We even saved room for a warm, spiced-bread-pudding-with-cranberries dessert and lingered over our drinks. One can only imagine how busy they must be during the height of the summer season. On a late October day we felt privileged to have the place almost to ourselves. A new nearby-resident discount may bring in more locals, but we were thrilled with our drive up from Albany for our first but certainly not last visit!
Food was very good and creative. Would have preferred a table in the main room with the fireplace...we were in a room by ourselves, but the bay view was spectacular!
We started with the Asiago Polenta Fries- very tasty sauce that accompanied them made them fantastic. Our choice of entrees- Scallops for one and some comfort food grilled meatloaf were all very well prepared and ample in size. The view was awesome, we were fortunate to have one of the two tables by the front window overlooking the bay. Our server- Katie- was great. We look forward to coming back.
The restaurant was sparse. No table cloths. for something advertised as a romantic setting this was very disappointing. plastic laminate tops, Not even a candle on the table. Extremely uninviting in every sense. It was dark so no view of the lake. They advertise "locally sourced" food.....true if it's your local shop rite. I had fish that was dry and overcooked. The risotto was definitely reheated and in no way complemented the dry and tasteless fish. My have had a pasta chicken dish that she could only eat a few forkfuls and left the rest. The waitress was very pleasant and did her very best. I was surprised that she didn't notice that wife wife left the majority of her meal. I would definitely not return. Not worth the money.
My wife and I were looking forward to going out to dinner for our vacation. Lake George holds meaning to us, and this place absolutely disappointed. Our server was horrible, and from the moment we walked in we just had a bad experience. Didn’t get a hello, the greeter just stared at us like we worked there. Our server paid us no mind, didn’t check up on us, and seemed to focus on the other guests. The food was horrible, which was surprising since the menu looked great. Overall VERY disappointed.
This was the epitome of “ok, not bad, not special.” As others have noted, the decor is, well, a bit grim, like a dining room that used to be nice but was stripped of any decoration. In the Covid age, the table top was bare (no flowers, salt and pepper, anything), and having our knife/fork/spoon setup slid to us in a plastic bag didn’t help.
The food was decent. Not bad at all, but not especially memorable. The view of the lake that others have mentioned is nice, but it’s just a cove, not the larger lake.
If you’re nearby, or looking for an uncrowded place, this will do fine.
Food and service were both excellent. As with other reviews I read- the restaurant has much potential but could use some updating. If there was better ambiance the place could be fantastic. The view of Lake George is beautiful. Remove overhead lightning which is too harsh for a dining area to begin with- it was the first thing I was put off by. Some simple minor changes would make a huge difference in the atmosphere of this establishment.
The restaurant is rather dated and could certainly use some redecorating. However, the view was terrific and the food was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive and the prices were very reasonable. All in all, a good experience.
Server was great. The lack of other diners and typical chatter from people having a good time was somewhat disconcerting.
Nice view. Food was good.
Stayed at the resort so decided to try the restaurant No disappointment here. The good and the service were great. The view of the lake Amazing.
Our waitress was wonderful and the salad and appetizer was good. The meals were mediocre and over cooked.
Place was hard to find ! Restaurant nothing special to look at and didn’t see a view ! Food was okay -didn’t care for the Cornish hen -most disturbing was after ordering desert they told us the kitchen was closed ( shouldn’t seat people if can’t order a full meal ). Bring it was my birthday and couldn’t order desert was a real turn off !
We had a great meal and view of the lake! We felt safe dining indoors and the staff was following all COVID guidelines and protocols for indoor dining.
T-bone very gristly - pasta was wonderful
Excellent food. Great service. Beautiful views of lake George
The first day I eat at the restaurant the food was hot but there was a hair in my daughter's food. 👌 My food was warmish cold.
Fantastic, especially getting away from crowded Lake George village.0
Stopped there after a wedding ceremony.
Great view, good food, family friendly!! Would definitely recommend!!
Food was good I would recommend the pineapple mango chicken salad the waitress was very friendly overall it was a great experience
Food was excellent our waitress was friendly and efficient view of Lake George amazing
Pretty views from our table by the window. Average food. Good service.
Everything was perfect
The staff was great and the food was very good. We had a window table and the view of the bay was very nice. Would definitely go again.
Inside seating was above board following safety gudelines. I would have felt better if the servers had worn gloves. Food was ok. had the muscles- sauce a little to strong? mustard,
the slaw on the tacos was not good- had better. I think they could do with some improvement in the food line. Choices were excellent. Fried potatoes tasted like they had a coating on them. Used to straight french fries.
Everything was amazing! Worth every penny!
Food was phenomenal and our waitress was THE BEST! We will definitely go back.

The Bouillabaisse and Scallops with Risotto were okay. The waitress was nice, but for a relatively empty restaurant seemed frazzled. We arrived 15 minutes early and asked if we could get seated, the waiter who acknowledged my presence while I was waiting for someone to speak to, seemed frazzled and was rude, said that we need to wait although he did point to our table which was set and waiting for us. Kids were happy with their kids' meals. Overall, it was just okay.
went well thanks
We have been here in the past and always liked it. But the updated menu really makes it special. Our server, Allison, was excellent. She was very familiar with the menu items as well as their new local craft beer selections.
It was a good experience overall. Nice view and sunset.
Service was great. Food was ok not spectacular. Fish was a bit overcooked. Appetizers - arrancini was very good.
Crab diavolo was bland despite it being a more spicy dish in concept.
On a different note, very clean and very conscious of social distancing.
I'd say good place to go to to see the east side of the lake, quite beautiful.
We had a great dinner!!
Good food and great view. Dined during the pandemic. Well taken care of by the staff.
We enjoyed a pleasant and tasty meal while following Covid restrictions. Our server was wonderfully friendly and made us feel right at home.
One server, one hostess, and one manager. That was not enough during a Saturday night. The waitress we had did her best because she was the only one but a lot of mistakes and a lot was not taken care of.
Food was disappointing, service definitely lacking, especially as the restaurant became busier. It seemed that 1 waitress was covering the whole restaurant. Wanted to order additional drinks and dessert but we were left hanging and couldn't even easily get the final check.
Amazing view, cozy atmosphere, very nice and friendly staff, delicious food with plenty of choice, everything you need for an exceptional evening.
