Really nice ambiance but the food could be a lot better considering the price.
Best place in SM for drinks and good times with friends!
My visit was during the pandemic, and I appreciated all the efforts to allow for space, and measures taken for disinfecting and waitstaff in face shields. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious, although a little on the pricey side but that is typical of the neighborhood. Lovely atmosphere.
Very good service every time I go here. They do a very good job of taking care of you
Nice ambiance, but overpriced and terrible tasting food.
Love the outdoor setting, perfect covid date spot. Mini lobster shrimp was delicious!
Our new favorite place-- we enjoy the food and the vibe is great!
The space was fun, our waitress was amazing and the food and drinks were great. We enjoyed it!
Loved their Cobb salad and fries were excellent. Burgers were pretty good too
They put us in the back corner. Every one of us had a spider fall on us at some point. The waitress had to be yelled at to come over and serve us. We finally got water at the end of the meal.
Overpriced food, not great, but expected for good ambience.
Such a cute place! Easy parking (costs $10), but drinks were great!
We had a reservation for six for 10:30. We ended up having to push it back to 10:45 which they were so nice and accommodating about. When we got there we were seated in a cool spillover lounge area (an extension due to Covid). However, we were so far away that we felt like our server didn’t notice us. We had to call someone over after a while of waiting because no one came to take our drink order after roughly 15-20 min. We ordered from a nice woman who wasn’t actually our server, and our drinks came out shortly thereafter. However, right after our drinks came out (only had taken about 3 sips) someone came over and told us the outdoor spillover area was closing in 10 minutes due to city guidelines. Totally understandable/I get that it’s an ordinance, but not one person had told us about this throughout our entire (short) reservation. The reservation was supposed to be for 2 hours and we were told to wrap it up right after getting our drinks. We asked if we could be moved to a table on the main property since it was open for normal business hours and were told that they “weren’t seating people anymore” in that area.... it felt like really poor planning. They shouldn’t seat reservations in the spillover area if they’ll be cut half the time they’re allotted, and should seat them in the main area. OR at the very least, should notify the group of the time crunch. Usually love this place, but we felt rushed and confused. If you make a reservation I suggest requesting a table in the main area.
Went to eat here for my 3 year anniversary and it was beyond amazing. The food was some of the best I’d ever had and the ambiance was even better. I would highly recommend coming here for a nice night out.
A wonderful dining experience. It feels like you are in the park.
We are locals and love going. Service outstanding and the ambiance and outdoor setting perfect. Lobster rolls for what you get are outrageous but the Bloody Mary’s made up for that. A fun experience.
The waitress told us something totally different about the quantity of our order for price and didn’t make things right for her mistake.
My server was great, we really liked her . Food also came out really quick
Food was delicious and staff was great! Good presentation and overall great taste. Also the drinks we ordered were good. They are following Covid guidelines also!! Tables are well spaced out and staff wears masks and gloves.
Food was terrible and overpriced. Drinks were made poorly. Cool outdoor setting but just go for beers.
Let me begin with sure we are in the middle of the pandemic so its nice to sit outside with appropriate social distancing. We were seated on the lawn with substandard horrible furniture and just expect a little more when you charge $69 for crab( crab was good) and the sashimi we ordered salmon and yellowtail had a strong odor so after tasting the yellowtail did not try the salmon! Ok the french fries came first all four of us dove in, it was dripping with oil and dark. So ordered a second and stated small request that it not be dark brown. It actually came burnt. So the third time perfect color and again extremely greasy. Fast food does a better job. The staff was friendly and the drinks were good. would not return. Truffle mac and cheese 2 orders not eaten due to no flavor and burger better at In and out. BTW paid for all of it. Never going back.
Pretty outdoor dining especially during Covid, safely spaced out. Resort like ambience, great for hanging out with friends for drinks and food, dog friendly a plus.
I wish I could pay less for a bottle of wine and still enjoy my night ... the price puts me out
We went for my wife's birthday we've been wanting to go for a while. The service started slow but warmed up the staff was attentive they brought a 🔥 close to our table 👍. The food was delicious 😋 but I guess it should be for just over a well spent $300. We'd return. The atmosphere is great but friday is a really young crowd. Oh well we were all young once. Lol
Waitress was not friendly initially - became much nicer the more we spent. A bit chilly - no outdoor heater anywhere near our table. They definitely need more. Food and ambiance were great.
We were shocked by the new food prices. What used to be a relaxed hang out is now a posh experience.
Then the Greek salad was probably the best I have ever had I the U.S.
What was odd is when we asked for some bread (were even willing to pay for it) we were told that there is no bread service.
Very poor for a restaurant that charges up to $69 for a main course.
Setting of course is lovely yet might only return for drinks.
The outside dining looked great but it ended there. Very pricy food for nothing special. Our waitress got several of our orders wrong. Will not be coming back.
The worst food I had in my life
Server took 25 mins to get a drink order. Chicken was undercooked, and they brought out the wrong sides and never corrected the wrong items even after it bein
Nice evening out with our teenage boys. Nice to sit outdoors in a nice garden (not in the street). Cool atmosphere, nice lighting and music. All the staff were great. Food was good (ordered the Lamb chops, Chicken kebab, Truffle Mac&Cheese, and Mussels) ...all a little pricey considering all sides had to be ordered extra! (Only comment on the truffle Mac & Cheese, which was tasty, but could have been from Krafts box with a few truffles shavings on top.)
Good sanitization protocol - sanitizer spray at the table, all staff wearing masks, face shield and gloves.
Overall we had a lovely dinner and will come back.
AMAZING! We will be back.
Food quality so bad. The place looks nice but not worth it, the food was so disappointing.
Just a great overall experience! We enjoyed!
Really disappointing! I've enjoyed how The Victorian has pivoted their business during COVID and I've continued to support them - from their to-go drinks months ago, buying bottles of liquor from them instead of liquor stores, and checking out their new lounge set up.
My friend and I went for brunch this Sunday. We had ordered drinks and fries while we thought about what we wanted for our main dish, even asking the waitress her thoughts on the lobster roll, making her fully aware we had intention to order lunch. The waitress was MIA for about 35 minutes and when she came back and we went to order it was 3:20 and we were told we were no longer able to order lunch (ends at 3 pm, which the waitress never came by to say "hey are you interested in placing a order kitchen closes soon," she was MIA!). The manger came out and told us no to ordering, as well. Meanwhile, we had been trying to order but no waitress in sight AND the table next to us received the item we wanted about 5 minutes before this (also after 3 pm). Beyond surprising they didn't try to take money of our bill to make it right.
Definitely not a reason not to go, but just beyond disappointing to have had that experience.
We had a fantastic Brunch. We loved the Bloody Mary’s and the Bagel & Lox was amazing. The wait staff was wonderful. We had a great experience!!
Well they rudely told everyone except for one table to get up and leave. Did not even give a five or ten minute warning that they would be asking us to leave. The waitress also did a terrible job and was not attentive to our table. It was very rude and disgusting in my opinion. Their lobster Mac and cheese was also very oily and the lobster tasted like rubber. Overall I probably would not come back here but only for their I’m basic cocktail and house fries. Other than that, there are definitely better restaurants in Santa Monica than this one.
If you want to dine in the tranquility of a fairy garden or the tasteful elegance of a refined beach-house, where summer and the soul of California seem to live year round this is the place for you. The atmosphere is open, clean, classy yet approachable. The food was seasonal, treated with care, respect and finesse. Hands down one of my favorite places to go for a delicious meal and to recharge my spirit.
Five star location but the menu is incredibly overpriced.
Please look up
The server for my table. She was absolute great
Great for an outdoor COVID friendly place - not crowded like it was
