   I came here yesterday the 18/03/23 with my elderly mum and a friend. The food and service was of a high quality ( although a bit disappointed that the menu had not changed). We had to change tables twice due to the very high noise level, which made the experience unbearable. Having to shout just to hold a conversation is ridiculous. to make things more difficult it was extremely hot and we had to open some windows. Might be a good idea when booking if there could be a option to sit in the quietest part of the pub, as the noise level has put us off returning.

   The pub is beautiful and the atmosphere really jolly and welcoming. Unfortunately our Sunday main of beef was a little disappointing. Not much veg and wishy washy gravy. The roast potatoes were not great and there was only 3. The portions were meagre. Overall though, it was an enjoyable experience, if a little costly for the amount we had. Will only go for bar food and drinks in the future.

   My friend and I like to eat at The Victoria as the food is always excellent and the Pinot Grigio is a top notch wine. Staff are cheerful and helpful. A lovely place for a meal with either 1 friend or when part of a larger group.

    Fantastic pub and atmosphere. They were so welcoming and I felt very relaxed despite having two young kids. The food was fantastic - best gastric pub around. Highly recommend!

    Really nice local pub. First time we’ve been although we live less than 2 miles away. Looks to have been newly refurbished and looks great. Food is mostly typical pub grub with the odd special. Would recommend a visit.

    We used the 30% voucher so it worked out good value. The young waiter was very attentive and efficient. Could not the fault the food and would definitely return in the future.

    We had a lovely meal on Sunday, all 3 courses were delicious, and a lovely bottle of wine. I cannot fault the Victoria at all. Very friendly and welcoming staff and food very good quality.

    Not as good as the last time. We were in a room (our table of 3) with a 14 string party and their noise was deafening. So much so that our conversation had to stop as we could not hear ourselves think, let alone converse. Also our drinks order seemed to have been forgotten and we had to chase for it. Hopefully it will be better next time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Felt the quality of the food was less good than in previous visits. Fish was quite dry and potato cake seemed to be just a dry, crushed new potato covered in breadcrumbs! However they have a good wine list so we had an enjoyable time and its good to see the place busy.

    Everything very good. Except for the second time in a row the steak was very poor. Mrs Sparkes had to return it and ordered another dish. Staff handled this very well and discounted the bill appropriately. A shame, because we really like this restaurant. Maybe need to check the source of the steak.

    This is “my local” it is the only pub/restaurant near my home that I will eat in. The food is of a great standard I highly recommend the gnocchi. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly (summer or winter) and the staff are helpful, cheerful and polite . Veronica

    Vegetables cold ordered 2 ice cream’s only got, 1 asked for another no spoon given. Charged for 4, 2 course meals only had 4 main courses. Sat need to a radiator not on absolutely freezing sat with our coats on. Returned the next day for a refund on being overcharged.

    Our regular Sunday roast haunt and we love it but it can be a bit chilly in the bar area sometimes due to people coming in and out but otherwise, lovely. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating. :-))
